DoubleGold |

2 wolves are to your north 15 feet
2 wolves to your west 20 feet.
init: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (8) = 10 wolves, roll init and post if before them. Maps will be up later.
6 flying stirges (mosquitos size of a basketball) on top of two wolves to the west, on same init count. Can get all 6 and both 2 wolves in a level 1 area blast.

DoubleGold |

Frank may act
Your thunderwave will kill all of the stirges and may kill the 2 wolves, then you move back if you want. 15 feet to reach them, then move 15 feet back.

Frank "Boom Boom" Di'Noso |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Seems Like a sound plan to me!
"Yo, dees here moskeetos carry disease. I ain't going to da doc again to get rid of Malaria. Boom, bi+@#3Z!" shouts Frank as she summons a wave of sound at them.
Dex Save DC 13 or take: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4 Thunder damage and be pushed back 10'. Half damage on a successful save and you aren't pushed. Also, it's really loud, which Frank seems to enjoy.

DoubleGold |

actually thunderwave is con save. The stirges with 2 hp, will die even with a save
The wolves con: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (14) = 15
con: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (10) = 11 and gets pushed
And then Frank moves back after hurting 2 wolves.
The wolves act, 1 on each person, 2 on lim-lim
hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (4) = 8 on Lim-Lim
hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (20) = 24 on Lim-Lim
hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (1) = 5 on Frank
hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (19) = 23 on Svala
If bit, take dmg: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 2) + 2 = 5
Lim-Lim and Svala are up

Lim-Lim |

That's a crit on Lim-Lim.
Crit: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
10 Damage total. Dang. Was almost taken out on the first hit in th game.
Lim-Lim invokes the spirit of his tribe to empower him and then strikes back with his great axe.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d12 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Frank "Boom Boom" Di'Noso |

"You and your boys gonna pay for messin' with Boom Boom!"
If I can get two of them with Acid Splash, then I will do the following:
Acid Splash (DC 13 Dex Save): 1d6 ⇒ 2
If not, then I'll hit the most wounded looking one with a Ray of Frost:
Ray of Frost Attack Roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage Roll: 1d8 ⇒ 1
Crit Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

DoubleGold |

No two within 5 feet, he blasts kills an injured wolf
9 dmg and 2 dmg and 2 dmg on a wolf
One attack one each, they now regroup a little and have pact tactics.
hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (18) = 22 advantage: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (16) = 20 frank
hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (6) = 10 advantage: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (4) = 8 lim-lim
hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (15) = 19 advantage: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (4) = 8 svala
dmg: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 4) + 2 = 9 Don't worry, something will happen, you'll just roll saves if you all go down and wake up 1d4 hours later
Lim-lim and Svala are up Lim-Lim is the only one up

DoubleGold |

Those that just went down, make a dexterity check, dc 15, can only benefit you. If you make it, you are up and I'll explain what happened,
if not, then roll death saves when it is your turn. And to all, Happy Thanksgiving, I forgot to scale this down, forcing me to intervene.

Lim-Lim |

There's no way we'll all stay up unless we're very lucky.
Attack weakest wolf; if they hit me,
I have resistance.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 1d12 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

DoubleGold |

Lim-Lim kills a wolf. 4 dmg and 2 dmg on a wolf
Svala and Frank would have fallen down unconcious but 2 goodberries fall from the high branches of the trees and they catch them in their mouth just as they go down.
Salva and frank are up with 1 HP And you're both prone, but you can easily get back up.

Frank "Boom Boom" Di'Noso |

Frank will hit one of the wolves with Ray of Frost, unless the two remaining wolves are next to each other, in which case I'll cast Acid Splash.
Ray of Frost Attack Roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage Roll: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Acid Spash (DC 13 Dex Save) or take: 1d6 ⇒ 6 Acid Damage.

Svala Forgesister |

If there's only 1 left after Frank's attack will swing and attack a wolf attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3, if more than one is standing will instead heal Lim-Lim so that as he's most likely to be able to finish them off if we drop again Cure: 1d8 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 3 = 7

DoubleGold |

Frank Freezes one but it is still alive.
Svala cures Lim-Lim
There formation is broken, so no advantage
bite: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (17) = 21 on Lim-Lim
bite: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (16) = 20 on Svala
if bite take dmg: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 4) + 2 = 7 which brings Svala back down.
Then Lim-Lim crushes one in half. one left, very hurt with 9 dmg
Svala and Frank are up again Svala death save

DoubleGold |

And frank kills it as he frosts the neck of the creature that had and opening.
Heroes can get a short rest, but not a long one

DoubleGold |

You know you add your con modifier to hit die right? Frank healed 8 to full. Svala healed 7 and Lim-Lim healed 7. And Svala can be assumed to reset to 1 HP before rolling hit dice.
You are traveling along the forest. Do you wish to know where the wolves came from? Survival checks, dc 10, stealth checks with advantage, and all heroes gain a DM inspiration die just for trying this extra mission, which means you can add a d6 to any d20 roll.
If two out of 3 of you beat dc 11 stealth, you all get surprise round, and you roll attacks with advantage on surprise round, as well as roll init with advantage on surprise round when no enemies are acting in surprise, which in this case none of the enemies are.

DoubleGold |

Heroes sneak up on 2 Krenshars in caves. CR 2 wolves. They are predatory cat like creatures the size of panthers. It has fang like teeth. You all sneak up on them. They are both 25 feet into the cave
Surprise round, all heroes are up Roll your first attack with advantage, then roll init with advantage, and if you beat their init, act in round 1. The Dm's inspiration die, add a d6 to any d20 roll is only good for this fight, cause you'll have a chance to get one next fight. Their AC is 13.
init: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (4) = 7 init of Krenshars

Svala Forgesister |

Catching them by surprise Svala strikes with a two-handed blow
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 (13) dmg: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 181d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
Then readies her shield as she strikes out again
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Isn't Inspiration used to grant advantage on a roll, rather than +d6?

DoubleGold |

oh, yep, it is advantage, I must be mixing it up with bards inspiration.
Svala swings and hits a Krenshar hard twice, blooding it.
by the way it is an action to pull to equip/unequip a shield, so that second dmg is still d10
dmg: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 still 4 dmg either way.

Lim-Lim |

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
ADV: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
ADV: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
Init beat
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
DM ADV: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

DoubleGold |

Lim-lim, no need to use the inspiration die, if without advantage is already a hit. You only get one inspiration die per battle, which you might need on round 2. The surprise round you automatically get advantage, round 1 advantage would require Dm's inspiration dice
Also Lim-Lim you raging? Rage gives +2 to dmg. so you should be rolling 1d12+5
Lim-Lim swings twice and finishes off the injured one hitting it hard.
Actually I have to follow init order as much as possible, so if the first one actually dies in surprise, then that attack that did 12 dmg would go on the other one. Init order is Svala-surprise, Lim-Lim-surprise, who know when frank goes, then Svala-round 1, then Lim-Lim round 1. You have at least killed one. HP of these thing is 28.
Svala surprise: 11 dmg dealt
Lim-lim suprise: 8 dmg dealt
Svala round 1: 4 dmg dealt
Lim-Lim round 1: 12 dmg dealt.

DoubleGold |

dex: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (12) = 15 dex disadvantage: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (14) = 17
dex: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (16) = 19 dex disadvantage: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (16) = 19
init of frank: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (16) = 19 advantage: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (4) = 7
and he would do it again
dex: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (1) = 4 dex disadvantage: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (5) = 8
dex: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (9) = 12 dex disadvantage: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (15) = 18
dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Frank surprise: they both dodge
Svala surprise: 11 dmg dealt
Lim-lim suprise: 6 dmg dealt
Frank round 1: 5 dmg to both
Svala round 1: 4 dmg dealt
Lim-Lim round 1: 10 dmg dealt, kill the one the other now has 5 dmg out of 28.
Okay, so Lim-Lim finishes off the first one after several attacks and the one is slightly hurt.
He howls everyone make a cha save dc 11 or be frightened.
All heroes are up again (if you fail the cha save, this would be a good place to use inspiration to succeed).

Svala Forgesister |

Cha Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 Inspiration: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
After a moment of fear, Svala steels herself and moves back into the fray Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 dmg: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 ooh crit: 1d10 ⇒ 10

Frank "Boom Boom" Di'Noso |

Charisma Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
Frank shoots the last remaining one with a ray of frost.
Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage Roll: 1d8 ⇒ 2

DoubleGold |

You all kill the last Krenshar and find a pouch full of gold in the cave.
You all come to a bridge. Their is a pine wilden warrior on the bridge. Three Darklings are holding him captive and he is unconcious. Help us kidnap all of these things You know capturing the pine wilden warriors is the wrong thing to do, but also the easiest, ie. no combat needed. Fighting the three darklings and saving this guy requires combat. Your alignment will not chance for picking the immoral choice but you will also only get half the xp of this fight. You will get full xp for fighting these things and a DM inspiration die for this fight. I also do record choices in this game, as it affects the storyline for the next game the author makes.
If you choose to fight, here is init init: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (3) = 6 darklings, 20 feet from you all and the downed wilden is far away enough from darklings that a burning hands, thunderwave, etc. won't hurt it. Each darkling is cr 1/2.

Lim-Lim |

Lim-Lim is LG. There's no way he's pick the immoral path.
Init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
He takes out his great axe and charges the nearest one.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

DoubleGold |

Lim-Lim hits one just barely and it hurts in pain.
Heck no, boss said to capture these things, so that is what we are going to do.
That means init Frank and an attack if you beat the six. Lim-Lim made that decision for you, luckily for you, he's the one in melee. Good news is that you all have inspiration die for this fight, and that includes init rolls
There are two are more next to each other.
