Returned home from vacation, and will be updating threads today. I have also deactivated the old campaign thread.

Is everyone good with the gp they have to spend in the marketplaces? ]

Hey Haldhin, does the magical upgrade happen offscreen, or will it happen in Lepidstadt? Same question for upgrading gear, etc.

Go ahead and figure out anything you want to purchase. The upgrade is going to happen a day or two after you get to Lepidstadt. Totally OOC, you might have a fight or two before that happens, depending on how you guys decide to do things.

But that said, feel free to upgrade everything now if you want to. I'm not worried about a +1 here or there.

Hey DM Haldhin, I haven't asked or sought it yet, but would you mind if I went with the Undead Scourge archetype of Paladin? I figured it fits the campaign and Darren's background, especially considering the events in the Harrowstone.

I'm fine with Undead Scourge. I agree it fits the campaign and the character.

Unfortunately, I have not yet heard from Oorin, and it's been several weeks. At this point, I believe I have to replace him.

I am considering replacements, but if anybody has any suggestions and/or input about people I should consider, please feel free to PM me. Adding another person is relatively easy at this point in the adventure, but becomes more difficult once the characters actively begin investigating the crimes.

By the way, I'm on vacation, having survived a rather stressful several weeks intact, and am almost finished catching up reading the bit I missed here. So far it looks like mostly dialogue that I'm sorry I wasn't able to contribute to, but at least can be hand-waved easily enough to say I was there all along but didn't really have anything else to contribute to the conversation.

I'm just a few days behind present now and I'll make sure and get a post in there either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Hey everyone, at some point in the next 3-4 days I will be returning to a tropical island I was at a few months ago where internet is hard to find and expensive by the minute. I'll probably only be getting access for maybe an hour every few days (that was what I averaged last time I was there). This will likely last until around the 20th. Hope that it's not too much trouble, and if I'm ever slowing the game down please DMPC or somebody feel free to run my character if necessary! I'll be around, just slowly.

Just wanted to post about some happenings in my life.

We have had some major turnover at work in the past few weeks, and as a result, my responsibilities have significantly changed. Unfortunately, making posts in my DM games is going to be very difficult for a while during work hours, so my posting will generally occur in the evenings.

I may make some posts from time to time during the day, but I anticipate those to be the exception rather than the rule. I should have time to answer specific questions here and there, it's just the official story updates that I won't be able to post.

Anyway, I'll do my best to maintain daily updates, but I may miss a day here or there. I just wanted everyone to know ahead of time in case it happens.

Hey Guys, I will be down another day or so. I have been battling either flu or pneumonia for a couple of days now. Fever finally came down below 102.8. See you all soon.

I'm sorry everyone, things have been getting busier for me, and - as you've probably noticed - I'm finding it harder and harder to post as of late.

I'm really loving the game, and I really want to take Roland through the story - but if I can't keep up, and I'm potentially holding the game up, I'm thinking it might be better for me to bow out. :(

This is a fine place for Roland to retire from adventuring and go back to his studies at the University, so it wouldn't be too disruptive, and this way I won't be bogging things down with people waiting for me.

Maybe when things get a little more settled on my end, I can re-evaluate things, but for right now it may be for the best...

Damn, sorry to hear that Roland. Really enjoyed your character. Hopefully we can play again sometime. Any chance you'll leave some of your consumables with the group?

Absolutely - any and all of the potions in my possession, everyone is more than welcome to take.

That said...do we want to look for a replacement or are we good with the group as is?

I'm fine continuing on for a bit and seeing how it goes.

I think the group is fully able to handle the challenges of this adventure, so you don't need another character.

That said, if you all would prefer I get another player, I'm more than happy to do it.

If we don't need another player, then I'd rather go with whatever you think is best. We've just added Professor Rokannon, and I think 5 is generally a good number for a party.

Yep, 5 is a fine number. We're not really lacking in any particular role at the moment either, so if we were to open up recruitment again we could pretty much leave it open to anything.

Hey guys, if anyone's got room for another game, I recently got involved in an old-school dungeon crawl where the dungeon is randomly generated as we go. We need a rogue to round out the party, so if you're interested, please check out the recruitment thread.

It's very tongue in cheek, with lots of jokes from what I can tell. Anyway, thanks, and Haldhin I hope I didn't step on any toes by posting this here.

Speaking of, we're in need of a healer in my long-ongoing Kingmaker game. We're still in book one, don't go super fast, and it's been pretty heavy RP with bits of action here and there. Feel free to post if you're interested.

Sorry I didn't get a post up yesterday, the site started dropping last night when I had time to write. Gameplay update incoming.

Apologies for my random schedule the past week or so. We have had a number of storms in the area, and several large trees have been falling around my neighborhood. We've lost power at least five times that I can remember, and we still don't have tv or internet (day three). Just a freak stretch of weather we're having.

Anyway, work seems to be settling down a bit and it looks like my daily routine is moving back to a "normal" state. Assuming that happens (which I think is likely), I'd like to get back into the at least a post per day habit. If this causes a problem for anybody, please let me know. I know my absence has been tough on the game, and I appreciate everyone's perseverance and patience.

I'm going on a camping trip for work this Monday through Saturday... there might be internet access but I'm not counting on it.

Ok. I really hate to do this but I'm going to resign from this game.

I've been going through some incredibly difficult personal matters with my family and at this point just don't think I can give this game the time or focus it and you all deserve. I do this with a heavy heart because I've loved playing with you all, and I love this character I've created and brought to life.

But I also don't want to hold up the game while I'm dealing with my real life. I'm withdrawing from all of my PbP games save my single longest running, which I hope to be able to keep up with at least - so I'll still be around on the boards if anyone ever wants to pm me. I want you to know that I've enjoyed playing with every one of you immensely and if or when I'm in a place in my life where I have more time for my hobbies I would love to have the chance to play with any of you again.

Thank you for putting up with me for so long and for being great companions for Shanoa. Best of luck in the future and happy gaming.

Well, Haldhin, if you're open to the idea, we could find an excuse for Shanoa to go away for awhile. You could DMPC her through her exit and then perhaps when my life has settled down I would have the possibility of return.

Just an idea, and honestly I don't even know how long it would take. I'm looking at probably a good year or two of heavy upheaval, just to set expectations.

Thanks for the well wishes. Honestly all things considered I think I'm coping pretty well. But I also know it's affecting me and I need to handle that the best I can.
