Asuran moves up and attempts to also keep his compatriots safe from the yeti's shake.

Erlathan |
There's no way Erlathan's going to march onto a bridge that a giant snowman just tossed around.
Erlathan draws his wand of magic missile, just in case. "Um, guys, are you okay?" He yells down into the snowbanks.
Erlathan |
Erlathan carefully climbs down the side of the cliff.
Climb: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (17) - 4 = 13
After he's down, he dusts off the snow. "How about going around? I don't like the looks of that lumbering, smelly beast!"
Asuran of Valashmai |
While Asuran would have liked to fight this strange creature, he doesn't think he can take it with the aid of his allies. Asuran waves a sad good bye at the creature.

GM Psyblade |
I have marked with an X the spot where you have to go towards for the following part, so Asuran can be happy!
The creature watches the party descend and gather again down below before seemingly retreat to, you have no idea due to the height difference. Once everyone is down it will take a bit of careful walking and climbing before getting to a point where they can hoist themselves upwards to where the yeti seemingly was...
Climb check dc 15 needed to get up towards the area where the X is, and then follow up will be another DC 15 climb check
Xavilon Starnon |
You didn't answer my earlier question, GM. Are we into initiative? If not, I'll take ten both times for a result of 15 each time.
Asuran of Valashmai |
"Yesss, I got rope." Asuran says as he starts unclasping his breastplate and taking it off. "Someone will need to tie this at the end so I can bring it at the end. Anyone have climbing kit or do I do this with my bare claws?"
He then grabs the rope with his teeth and begins his ascent.
climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Heh, I was looking at the wrong character sheet. That's a 24 with Asuran's climb mod.
Erlathan |
Climb using Asuran's rope: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (20) - 4 = 16
"Thank you, my scaled friend," Erlathan gasps for air as he pulls his frail body up and onto the landing. "And now, I suppose we have that gigantic beast to deal with!" He takes on a wide stance with his legs, his palms out, and awaits the yeti.
Kun Ling |
climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
Kun Ling attempts to follow Erlathan up the rope, but may have had a bit too much to drink for climbing activities.
"I may need some more assistance."
Asuran of Valashmai |
"Grab my breastplate, and then tie the rope around yourself. I'll pull you up."
Once Kun Ling does that, Asuran will take 20 for 23 unless something prevents him from doing so?
Xavilon Starnon |
As I said earlier, I'll take 10 on each of these, for a 15.
GM Psyblade |
The party arrives slowly but surely at the a seemingly camp, Crimson carnage stains the snow atop the northern escarpment. Ten frost-covered corpses lie decapitated and half-buried near a collapsed tree protruding from a nearby snow bank. The corpses that you see are golems and 2 dead yeti's
As the party is exploring the camp a loud roar can be heard as 5 yeti's move down the mountain slope, when they come closer you can see a blue skinned humanoid sitting on top of the shoulders of the lead yeti. , she is wearing fur-lined rags and she seems to hold a statue that the party members recieved. Speaking in Aklo she stops the Yeti before turning to the party. “One of me knows you. You are they who swayed karma to grant me this breath. Well met, friends, in the shadow of my darkest self.”
Erlathan |
"Ah, well met," Erlathan offers a handshake and holds his hand to his chin to hide his chintacles. "From your greeting, you must be an incarnation of Bakten, right? What are you doing here? Are these yetis your friends? They don't look so friendly!"

"It seems a sole yeti headed back and forth towards that glacier." Kun Ling nods towards the direction of the glacier before acknowledging the arrival of newcomers.
GM Psyblade |
The girl turns to Erlathan and nods “I am Sharaheen, once called Bakten. I thought to end my karmic cycle as that self, but I saw the need to persevere. Had I died as Bakten, my dark self would have risen.” she contemplated on the next part for a moment before continueing. “You gave me life anew. Though you knew it not, your actions in Ayajinbo and Dallo were calculated to unbalance Bakten’s karma. He wished his grandest deeds undone, so that I could live to keep Jujanil from entering this world.” she nodded to the yeti's “Old friends of an old self. I, who was Rianon, once cured the yetis of a fearsome blight. Days past, they found me on the mountainside, and brought me here—but no further, dreading the same fate as their fallen kin.” She nodded to Kun Ling. "True, he has been taken over by some sort of magic to stop those following him..."
Erlathan |
"Ah, I think I get it. We've altered the timeline, perhaps? Who is this Jujanil you speak of? Must be pretty dangerous if Bakten forfeited his grandest deeds to stop him."
GM Psyblade |
Turning her head to Erlathan she spoke again “Our veiled life, our darkest self. She sought to break from the cycle of souls, to become undead and all-powerful. She is a fragment now, a cursed shard. She bides her time in a pocket dimension, awaiting my departure from this plane. So great was her stealth, it took me two lifetimes to find her. I am now too weak to confront her myself. I beseech you to help me end her misbegotten days.”
Asuran of Valashmai |
"You want us to kill... spirit person, who is...you from another time?" Asuran says, pointing an accusing claw at Sharaheen, "I am confused. How is another you here? How is you here? I thought Bakten died, the end, no more?"
GM Psyblade |
Sharaheen regarded the Nagaij for a moment and frowned "It is hard to explain but we believe in reincarnation so that our spirit might live on, the creature that is out there is someone far more evil then what you can imagine, I need your help to do this quickly, after it is done, I will give you a full explanation on how reincarnation works and what it means to us..."
Xavilon Starnon |
Xavilon nods at Lukaas' words.
"Indeed, it looks like we'll have to deal with Bakten's evil side. How can we prepare ourself best to face the man?" he asks.
GM Psyblade |
Beaming at the group she seemed happy and bubbly for a moment "I must accompany you, but this form is frail. My power is in memory. Bear me to the pocket plane where my dark self ’s soul resides and my past shall strive to aid you.” With that she jumps off the Yeti shoulders and walks over to lukaas and puts her hand in his and looks up with a smile "Shall we go?"
When the pathfinders move onwards to the pagoda twin iron doors stretch ten feet up the jagged pagoda’s side. The doors are painted with a hideous crimson visage ringed by two sets of spiraling script. No handles, rungs, or keyholes are visible, only a small, dark depression that serves as the snarling facade’s mouth.
The iron doors are 2 inches thick and emit an aura of moderate conjuration. The spiraling script is in Tien, and reads: “Give me gold, for I am want. Make it shine so I can flaunt. Place it in my hungry maw, so as to show my master awe. Do this as it pleases me, and I’ll unbar the door for thee.”
the symbol is from Fumeiyoshi, the three-eyed crimson faced creature emblazoned on the door’s surface as that god’s unholy symbol.
Lukaas Penn |
Lukaas takes one of his gold pièces, polishes it on his clothes, and tries to put it in the maw.
Worth trying. I don't remember finding anything specific to Fumeiyoshi so far, any golden trinket that could have escape my memory?
Kun Ling |
Kun Ling looks over the script, focusing his gaze and blinking a few times. "Yes, it seems we just need to shine up a coin or two and insert them"
EDIT - Didn't see Lukaas post when I was posting, so updated a bit.
Xavilon Starnon |
Xavilon takes out one gold piece, makes it shine with the back of his sleeve and puts it in the maw.

With the money placed in and to be finalised by Jobin the doors swing open Broad steps descend into a large hall. Between two smoking braziers looms a red-veined marble statue of a humanoid with three eyes and jagged tusks, its twisted claws clutching a naginata. Beyond, two sets of stairs flank a tapestry depicting a titanic struggle between the same fiendish menace and a jade-clad warrior. Along the pagoda’s eastern arc, several burlap sacks slump haphazardly, while near the western curve squats a hefty, straw-lined cage. The twin braziers cast the hall in dim light. The statue represents the god Fumeiyoshi, while the tapestry depicts his defeat.
In the first panel, Fumeiyoshi is shown sundering a piece of his brother’s jade armor. Then, the Lord of Envy gloats over his fallen brother with the shard of jade held high, while in the final panel, Fumeiyoshi thrusts the shard into an arcane circle where it crumbles to dust, activating a nearby portal in a graveyard.

As the party is discussing the panel the sound of a creature moving could be heard, seconds later a golem of some sort moves through the room, picking up a burlap sack and the leaving the room again. As Kun Ling is following the creature he notices a lever inside the cage that opens the door of the cage should someone be trapped inside.
Xavilon Starnon |
Xavilon looks around gives Kun Ling an inquisitive stare. "What about the lever? Should we activate it?"

upon checking out the cage the lever shows clearly what it is for, to let someone out of the cage when he or she is locked in. As for the bags, they are filled with rice. And while the party is investigating, another golem shows up, picks up a bag and walks away, no interest in the group of pathfinders.
Xavilon Starnon |
"Well, I don't care for rice. Maybe it's some kind of offering. Let's activate the lever!" shouts Xavilon, motioning the lever to open the cage.
Erlathan |
"Activate it? Whatever was in the cage must have used this lever to escape. Who knows what it was," Erlathan says. "But what's with the golems and their obsession with rice? Maybe we should follow them?"
