Once a trainer and strategist for the guards of Emperor Shigurethe of the Minkai Empire, Kun Ling found himself unemployed once the Emporer was taken into "protection" by the Higashiyama clan. He turned to alcohol to drown sorrows of his failure in protecting his master., leaving Minkai and travelling to the west, where his shame wouldn't be known to all. Eventually, he caught the attention of some pathfinders after a brawl in a tavern, where he singlehandedly fended off three thugs in spite of his obvious intoxication, spouting "sage advice" about the failings of his attackers all the while. Drendle Drang, began drinking with him, a cover to scout him out, before inviting him to "earn some coin" in a few jobs for the society. Now that he is being sent on various missions before being sent back in the area of his homeland where the society can make better use of his expertise.
