@Roga, I have no problems with you changing to the Unchained Barbarian. You will have some time in Torch so it's covered by calling it retraining.
I can understand your problems, one of my live group players started with what he thought would be a robot destroying Ranger, but ended up with more levels of Gunslinger and rogue. And the ability to caputre and reprogram robots to serve him. :)

Olimpia Beta II |

Looking over the rogue tricks I am wondering if Firearm Training is a good option for this AP. Having a gun that can hit with a touch attack seems like good range attack for when Olympia cannot close. Thoughts?
Other options I am considering are Resiliency and Trap Spotter.

Dilana Hemlock |

HP: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Clearly I took another level of Witch. It is very hard to get myself to multi-class a full caster.
New hex is Flight which at this level allows me to Levitate once per day but soon I will be able to fly! How fun.
@Olimpia: I think either is a good option but it is more about what is fun for you. A gun, in your hands, will do less damage but there is great flavor. The others are classic for your class so never bad.

Figgy Greasefitter |

Black nanite hypogun (5 charges); (this is 2d8+3 healing and lesser Restoration, I would like it for figgy if possible)
Chain shirt,
MW spiked gauntlet,
+1 inferno pistol,
Nanite canisters (2),
White access card.
Silver unholy symbol of Hellion.

Figgy Greasefitter |

New Level:
HP Avg for 5 or 4 depending on how you want to do it exactly
All skills +1, took K. Local as well.
+1 stat to Int for 18
Cats Grace and Invisibility for 2nd level infusions
Precise bomb for my Discoveries, (Still not a mad bomber)

OK, I've made the changes to Roga who know is a plain vanilla barbarian (unchained) and a ranger skirmisher (I don't want to mess with magic at later levels). I've taken exotic weapon proficiency - firearms to keep his story the same but will now need JJ to help me craft bullets, powder, etc because I no longer have the gunsmithing feat.
I'll also need to get me a 'big weapon' and some decent medium armor but hopefully those will be available up above.
Game on!

Jeremiah Johnston |

Sold! :)
Of course now she wants to keep that pistol.
She'll need to fight JJ over it. XD
Anyway, Increasing my Dex to 20, stuck between Deadly Aim and Two Weapon Fighting for bonus feat this level, and debating if I should start my Techslinger retraining now (making Technologist a possible option if I choose that route). Any advice, GM?

Olimpia Beta II |

Pretty sure we have more than one pistol. And since Olympia does no have anything in her off hand when range attacking she could use a rifle too.

GM_DBH |

Jeremiah Johnston |

Alrighty then. I will finish updating my sheet tomorrow. Deciding to go down the path of the Techslinger. Still need to determine my feat, but will do that in the morning.

Raktar Garnok |

Don't think I want any of the loot, would rather have the money to start upgrading my weapon and to put towards my dream armour (mithral full plate).

Dilana Hemlock |

Works for me. Split up the gold from whatever people do not want.

Olimpia Beta II |

How do you guys split up loot and gold? Olympia would like to keep the helmet she is wearing and some batteries for it. My only hesitation to selling the Inferno pistol is that it is a magic weapon and those are in short supply right now. I guess we can hope to get enough loot so that we can buy some magic weapons. :)
And a question for Figgy - Should we both keep maxing out Disable Devise? Its sorta thematic for the rogue to do so. We are already each good enough to be able to tap an assist for the other. Thoughts? Olympia will have better reflex saves to avoid damage when the disarm goes poorly. lol

Dilana Hemlock |

What is the downside on the Inferno? 1d6 fire damage hitting touch at 30ft? Sale value is high but seems like a decent gun unless I am missing something which is very possible.
Re Loot question. I do not think we have a full plan on that but it seem take would you use and split the gold makes sense.

Figgy Greasefitter |

Figgy gets 10 skill points a level, I put 1 extra into my background skills, I can stop putting points into Disable Device and put it into more knowledges really.

Jeremiah Johnston |

@Olimpia: We usually do an even 6 way split with the gold. Loot goes to whoever the group thinks would benefit the most from it and who wants it.
Opinions on loot based on categories:
Armor: Roga's got his, the rest of us have stuff that is better for us I believe or can purchase some with money. So, sell the rest.
Weapons: No one needs those, so sell them all.
Magic Item: I have no problems with Roga taking the ring.
Technology: Since I'm retraining to Techslinger, I would like the Inferno pistol to take advantage of (along with nanite canisters to fuel it), even if it means giving up a bit of my share of liquid assets to acquire it. Everything else might be a sell. The autograpnel is nice, but I have a grappling hook for climbing and I'm betting we can get another down the line sometime (1 book down, 5 more to go after all). The panic suit is a one-shot item, and I prefer more permanent bonuses. Don't need the beacon I think, and the ion tape/zipstick combo is situational at best. Olimpia can have the tech-helmet.
Any objections?
Also, committing to the retaining to Techslinger archetype (could use help calculating the fee if possible, GM), using my Favored Class Bonus for more grit per 4 levels, boosting Dex to 20, and acquiring Technologist as my Bonus Feat.

I also have the small, light hammer +1, ON LOAN, not my favorite magic weapon at all but I think I should keep it for the time being until we find/buy something better.

Dilana Hemlock |

Not a loan, someone who could hit with it should carry it. As I have more spell slots I cannot imagine a time I would use it. More effective to do other things.

Olimpia Beta II |

I am good with all that. Roga should keep the hammer until he can acquire a magic weapon better suited for him. Then how about the hammer gets sold and the money goes to the party to split?

Of course. Wouldn't have it any other way?

Figgy Greasefitter |

I don't even know what to spend this money on, so much for a little gnome.
I want to buy some forumlae.
2nd level - Cure Mod Wounds, Lesser Restoration, Bull's Str, bark skin = 160 gold
1st level - Ant Haul, True skill = 20 gold
Cloak of resistance +1
Leaves me with 2466 gold still. Alchemist don't really need weapons, plus I have all you big lovely people standing in front of me.

Olimpia Beta II |

I have a PFS alchemist. Here are some items from his inventory
Admixture vial- 5K
Belt of Dex - 4K
Headband of Int 4K
Boro Bead level 1 - 1k
Boro Bead level 2 - 4k
Foruma Alembic - 200 gp
Hybridization Funnel 200 gp
Preserving flask, level 1 1k
Lots of potions to use with Alchemical Allocation - fly and Displacement come to mind immediately
And under mundane gear this is something called a bomb launcher. Its 10 gp and is a consumable. Its used up with the bomb. It increases bomb range increment to 30'.
And there are all sorts of cool alchemical weapons to consider.

Olimpia Beta II |

I have upgraded my masterwork Wakizashi to +1 for 2000 gp. I still have 520 gp remaining but that is not enough to get even the cheapest firearm. Well, I could get a flare gun, but that is no good. Oh well. Will save the rest. Still need to get a +1 cloak too.

Figgy Greasefitter |

Can I buy a boro bead (1), the funnel, the Preserving Flask (1), Foruma Alembic all in torch?
The belt and head band I will have to wait for later.
Thank you Olimipa for those

Raktar Garnok |

Added to the gold I'd already saved, I can afford to have my earthbreaker upgraded to +1 and buy a cloak of resistance +1. I'll save the remainder towards my armour goal.
GM - how much downtime are we likely to have in the future for crafting? Once I've got the feat, making magic weapons is going to be pretty easy.

Jeremiah Johnston |

Character update:
Retaining of 2 deeds: 400 GP
Equipment:
Purchasing a Mithril Chain Shirt for myself and using that 20% discount writ from the beginning of the adventure. (1100-220=880GP), Upgrading my Mwk Buckler to a +1 Buckler (1000 GP), 2 bandoliers (1 GP), a glass cutter (5 GP) and 10 sheets of glue paper (1 GP) for sneaky situations, and a set of superior quality loaded dice for some just in case situations (50 GP).
Total Cost: 2337 GP
GM approved?

There will be a lot of time you can spend crafting as the AP progresses.
My Cleric of Brigh took all the craft tech feats and by the end had pretty much built a lot of the gear the party was using. Crafting magic arms and armor will be the same.
One more tip for the whole party, along with taking the Technologist feat, he also maxed out his Heal and Knowledge Engineering skills. Some of the tech you find can be implanted. :)

Yes to all those Figgy. For obvious reasons Alchemists are very common in Numeria.

Figgy plans to do this.

Olimpia Beta II |

Sweet. Olimpia wants to be all she can be. :) I figure androids would be good with implants if anyone is.

Dilana Hemlock |

GM: How do you feel about crafting in an AP? I was rolling taking Craft: Wondrous around in my head but the crafting rules as writing make it farily impractical in an AP with little down time, as we have had to date. What are you thoughts? How would u handle if I went that rout?

Raktar Garnok |

Dilana - I had the same question. The GM answered it about 5 posts above.

Dilana Hemlock |

woops. Looks like I know my next feat then.

Roga, savage technologist |

Last loot split was for finishing the book, so yes you're up to date.
Yes, I got the ring of prot and bought the MW greataxe. I guess my question was if there was a general sellout of unwanted items and a division of wealth gained from that? I have not updated Riga's 'wealth' in a while and wanted to buy some cure items.

Dilana Hemlock |

Loot sheet I am seeing shows 5 Brown Stripe cards and that is about it.
Not sure if I am looking at wrong document. Would be good to know current GP per character, looking to craft at next feat.

GM_DBH |

Everything has either been claimed or sold, it was spread through the book though, so you all received small amounts as you progressed, and 2500gp as the last payout.
Thinking about the wealth I've just realized that it was designed for a 4 character party, so you are very likely under cashed.
I'll come up with some very lootable randoms for you on your journey.

Dilana Hemlock |

Fair enough. A lot was grabbed and since tech didn't think much about it. To be fair Dilana needs little to contribute. Running just about 300gp atm and I bought a CLW Wand.
