Will be re-submitting my character tonight. Was all done but now the Dm has soulknife stuck in my head and Im debating between Magus/Soulknife and Blade-bound/Swashbuckler.
Soulknife is cooler and soulknife/Magus are my two favorite classes but having a mindblade pretty much precludes me from having a blackblade, which would be a shame since the black blade is such a cool weapon for flavor and roleplay purposes.
Thanks to his letting me make a feat for a bite, the blackblade/mindblade and ABP issue is out of the way (Thanks for that by the way).

Also, I'm happy if people want to make up alternate forms of classes, new archetypes, new races, new spells, etc. as well. Also tweaks to combat and stuff -- think about if you had cool ideas for rules you wanted to try out but never had an opportunity and send me details. We can at least test drive it!

DM Tides of the Accord |

Sounds good. I'm picking at my penguin a bit too.
Also I'm looking at the boyancy rules right now -- I think we may need to spend a little time working on equipment to get the right weight for the different characters.
Does anyone with the Cerulean Seas books have any idea if there's a good water breathing device for non water breathing races like the penguins? Or anyone have a cool idea for a work-around? I wounder if there's some kind of diving helmet in the rules?

Gramork |

If im understanding buoyancy it sounds like most of us should just get masterwork floats. Several races even have such floats built into their bodies. The floats should take care of most of our issues unless we load the crap out of our characters, again assuming my understanding of the rules is correct.

Hrungnir |

Feat
Aquatic Adaption
Prerequisite(s): Hold breath.
Benefit(s): You can breathe water as well as air
Classes
LVL 4 Aquatic Bloodline Bloodrager
For a ranged build go for Urban archetype so raging gives +4 Dex
LVL 3 Aquatic Bloodline sorcerer
Items
Air Crystals
Source PFSFG
These unpleasant-tasting, alchemically grown crystals release breathable air when chewed. A pouch of air crystals provides 1 minute of breathable air. Placing air crystals in your mouth takes a standard action; chewing them each round is a free action. Any attempt to speak while chewing air crystals negates any remaining duration.
——
I would just get the feat

Okay thank you everyone for the replies vis a vis the buoyancy and water breathing issue. I need review the rules for combat before we do the first battle.
In thinking about NPC design I decided to specify something else that may apply if you make another character or hireling. I don't have ideas for infinite gestalt characters, so to allow for single class characters I house rule that these will receive 3 feats a level (they need to have that much to make it better than just gestalting fighter, and also don't want to most NPCs a gestalt fighter just for the heck of it).
Does anyone have issues with called shots in combat? My reading of the rules is that you don't have to use them, but they're an option for martial characters.

Hrungnir |

I’ll think of a new character if and when this one dies. And I kinda do have ideas for infinite gestalts...
* Dusk Knight Paladin/Unchained Rogue (the ultimate sneaky paladin)
* Unchained Monk of the Mantis / Unchained Rogue (two different kinds of sneak attack for stacking)
* Enlightened Paladin/Sacred Fist Warpriest (dex, wis and cha to AC)
* Perfect Scholar Unchained Monk / Bard (two kinds of bardic knowledge, so +1 to all knowledge skills each level)
* Avenger Vigilante / Sacred Fist (fist of the Avenger, lethal grace, signature weapon. At lvl10, with Dex and Str 18, and Heavy Blows Trait/fate’s Favored, does 1d10+26 damage punches if power attacking. More with feats, buffs and items.)
The last one is especially tasty, as it wouldn’t be hard to get up to 30+ damage with 4 attacks per round.

Just checking in with everyone:
Got some more house rules suggestions about feat taxes and background skill points I'm uploading to the house rules document.
Also adding called shots, stamina, and combat tricks from Unchained (these are mainly fighter options for the villains, you can ignore them for your character if you're not interested).
I'm thinking of starting on Friday/Saturday morning (i.e., after midnight Friday, morning/am Saturday) and beginning with those who seem to have their characters locked down most comfortably; first will be a post to begin Hrungnir's journey to Ghostlight Keep, the Elf Walks a Shadowed Path on Monday. In lieu of any objection, I want to do these background pieces for a little to give us an easy ramp-up to the first scenario to explore and discuss lore a bit more and any remaining rules questions. They should mainly be roll playing and not combat oriented.

I don't know if the tech people can help. I'm recreating the campaign in here.
First post is up for Hrugnir for whoever wants to look, let's migrate over to the new installation of the campaign. I'll link to the recruitment thread here in a post in the new recruitment area for an archive.

Tripgnosis |
If recruitment is still open, and you're open to 3pp classes, I have a concept I've been kicking around that would be fun in a Cerulean Seas-styled campaign. I would like to use these two to represent a character having made a pact with an eldritch entity that manifests their fear in the real world. In times of stress they go into a quasi-catatonic trance that releases a spectral shark and a school of translucent piranha from their psyche to force others to relive the terrifying attack that left the character desperate enough to bargain with an Old One.
DSP's Lords of the Wild ( announced here and hosted here) has the Wild Huntmaster, a dread archetype that summons a spectral beast to embody its concept of fear and combines allies into a psychic collective. The Wild Huntmaster section of LotW is pretty self-contained, pp. 11-15, and can be found at the link on the left of the document page.
Forrestfire Studio's Avowed class] (introduced here and hosted here) is a take on the warlock whose signature 'aether pulse' attack can take different shapes depending on the choices made during character creation. The relevant bits of Avowed are the class overview from pp.4-7, the Old One pact description on p.21, the aether swarm shape on p. 40, and finally I would request the two Least clauses Silver Tongue and Who Help Themselves on p.44.
Together this would make for a capable face that, though they freeze up in combat, adds some battlefield control and a funky image

First post for Walks a Shadowed Path, and another for Hrungnir. Once I've started your thread, it'd be great if you could check it once a day. I'm only promising to rotate between everyone while we do flashbacks (so basically each week will rotate around the current cast at a minimum), but I may feel inspired to make a quick post on your story.

Tripgnosis |
Sure, I've been working on that and hope to wrap up chargen this weekend. It's a tough decision, since some of the races that most appeal to me take a charisma penalty - even the mer/naga crossbreed Lamian that's fluffed as beautiful, valued for their ability to socialize, and "delightful and entertaining company".

Satazia Zemrita |

Gramork here
Re-submitting Satazia Zemrita Now with 100% more actually having a name. Satazia is still a Lamian but is now a Blade-bound Magus/ Blackguard Assassin from the multiclass archetype list. Blackguard Assassin's are Antipaladin's with a splash of rogue.
Near as I can tell they don't have an Antipaladin's code of conduct so Im not a fanatical servant of evil, though I am still quite evil.
Note only her gameplay info is in her alias right now. All the fluff will follow once my prologue is done. Tides you'll be getting it all tonight after work in a PM.
Also Hrungnir, I totally feel your pain. This picture is not what my character looks like at all but sadly the list of pics we can use is quite limited.

Satazia Zemrita |

To be fair I think that both the Paladin and Antipaladin's codes of conduct leave enough leeway for a character not to disrupt a campaign as long as they approach alignment intelligently. Way to many look at alignments as iron-clad rules for how your character must act, instead of a guide to map out your personality a little.

DM Tides of the Accord |

OK going to start on postings for Brin Walker and Satazia (you'll see how they relate!).
Just a general point I failed to make clear -- I'm going to title the spoilers a different way for each character. Please keep the same title in your responses so someone can easily open all the posts for a given character and read it consecutively.
Also, this is very much a collaborative enterprise -- you can add your own fluff as much as you desire. Assume everything in Cerulean Seas exists and that the area I'm detailing are alternative versions of the Cerulean Seas races when I distinguish them from the Alluria Publishing write up. However, all the regions in Cerulean Seas exist somewhere else on the world.
Please no "I was the last person to see the Sun," kind of stuff that's difficult for me to work with, but please feel free to flesh out the environment and your background as you wish -- for instance, you don't need to say, "I'm looking for a rope," -- you can just assume there's a rope.
Enjoying myself so far, and hope everyone is intrigued by the first couple of posts!
