not 100% sure on race but am finding the seafolk crossbreeds quite cool. Is spending a lot of time on land going to come up much in the early game. Im likely not moving much more than 5 feet a round on land and likely dont have much in the way of air breathing capabilities.
The only thing I have immediately in mind is the Ice Elven isle with the magical haze which allows aqueous creatures to operate as normal. Otherwise, there will be a work around like encounter suits or transporting you mind into a drylander body via some device. I'm also thinking of maybe having a scenario where you all magically go back in time to inhabit the bodies of those who lived before the Accord to learn something about the history of the setting by directly experiencing the end of the Great War and the pre-Accord terrestrial civilizations.

I'm going to be sending out fluff info to everyone individually via PM -- the material you get from me via this channel is setting info only your character knows and that your fellows will have to discover over time, so please keep that stuff to yourself for now -- it's going to be fun to have everyone slowly connect the dots together.

Are their options besides the starting one per class? Let me know, I haven't thought about it yet. I'd be inclined to shape it to the individual character background.
I think there's an equipment section in the Cerulean Seas books. Let me take a look and get back to the group with some more details. I'll make up some equivalent stuff if I have to.
Thanks to everyone for their enthusiasm! I'm really looking forward to running this.

I'm considering just letting everyone have appropriate equipment for their character without regard for the charts in the Core Book. I'm planning on mostly hand waving the money issue to allow for stuff like bribing officials, hiring buddies, etc. within reason. Unless it's in your character background, you can't have millions and millions of currency available, but I'd like to mostly adjudicate this by flavor rather than math and rolling.

As this is all underwater...
Eelhide
Sharkskin
Coral
Chitin
Clamshell
These materials seem to be suitable for armor.
If we are going with what works thematically...I could see Hrungnir in a suit of Austorian Clamshell armor. Wielding a large trident (halberd) in both hands. That feels very ‘underwater dwarf’ to me.

Armor from Cerulean Seas:

Padded Kelp: +1 AC, -0 ACP
Muck +2 AC, -0 ACP, +6 max dex

Chain shirt, +4 AC,-2 AC, +4 max dexMedium Armor
Jellyfish
Scaly
Seashell
ClamshellHeavy Armor
Chitin
Turtle
Glacial
CoralI can't list all the weapons easily, let me know what you're looking for and I'll get the details on those.
Etc etc, following normal pathfinder armor, right?

Does anyone have an idea if there's some way to do images in these forums? I feel like it would be useful to post images of the weirder monsters, and I'd also like to include art or photos that suggests some of the landscapes.
I know we can do maps in googledrive, which we will need because underwater combat is 3d, you can be threatened in 26 squares instead of 8! However, I'd like to do more for visuals.

Just to whet all of your appetite a bit, I just did a rough version of the Ghostlight keep layout.
It look like it has about 250 rooms on five levels. There is a vast dungeon area of about 100 rooms that contains the slipstream that transports everyone too and fro and contains what are widely considered to be remnants of a drylander edifice.
There are four additional levels of twisting coral towers (5 towers: 3 major (2 with four levels, 1 with 3, 2 with 2), two minor) containing another 150 rooms.
And that's not counting the impromptu Opera House the Ice Elven delegation has erected nearby for the occasion!
Lot's of space to explore and intrigue!

Dot.
5d6 - 4 - 5 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 5, 6) - 4 - 5 = 18
5d6 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 3, 4) - 1 - 2 = 12
5d6 - 3 - 2 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 4, 6) - 3 - 2 = 13
5d6 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 5, 3) - 2 - 1 = 11
5d6 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 5, 2) - 2 - 2 = 17
Eh, I'll go with point buy.
Any chance you'll allow Path of War?

So, in the weapon section of the Cerulean Seas book, it says
"The weapons presented in this chapter were specifically designed for underwater combat, and the statistics listed here have been adjusted for such. There are no additional penalties for use underwater, regardless of weapon type or condition of wielder."
Here are the stats for Rapier from the Cerulean Seas book:
Rapier 21 gp 1d4 1d6 18–20/×2 — -2 P
(the -2 is buoyancy, which we might need to know)
I cant see any sporks. :) ... However, there are LOTS of forks. Here they are:
Simple, one-handed:
Kelp Fork* 4 gp 1d4 1d6 ×3 — -4 P —
Martial, Light Melee:
Short Trident* 12 gp 1d6 1d8 ×2 — -3 P
Martial, one-handed:

War Fork* 10 gp 1d6 1d8 ×2 — -3 P brace
Martial, two-handed:
Long Trident* 20 gp 1d6 1d8 ×2 — -13 P reach
Treble Fork* 12 gp 1d6 1d8 19-20/×3 — -9 P reach

*Cost reflected is for swampwood, coral, or shell. Add 50% for auranite or mithrite.
Let me know if anyone wants me to look up anything else.

Hrrm... a halberd?
Halberd* 11 gp 1d8 1d10 ×3 — -13 P brace, trip
Spears don't seem all that Dwarven, but they do have a brutal one:
Flayspear: Originally designed by the sadistic sahuagin, the flaying spear became popular in the seas as a trophy weapon. The prestige behind
owning one drove weaponsmiths to design their own. The flayspear ends in a small, two-pronged fork, preceded by small blades around its diameter.
It is designed to go in deep and take out a "core sample" of its victim. Some consider the use of this weapon unduly cruel, while others simply
appreciate its effectiveness.
Flayspear* 15 gp 1d6 1d8 ×4 — -9 P barbed

Updated first scenario maps a bit more -- included a inn characters could stay at, as well as the main area of the Operatic Circus of the Ice Elves.
The overview maps won't be legible at the current resolution; they're just supposed to give you an overall sense of the structure. I'm going to try to use colorful battle maps like the inn and the circus that fit the relevant areas to give more of an effect when you start exploring.
And please note the captions for all the images which explain what you're looking at, as well as how the maps relate to one another and to the images.

Religious guards, all with this:
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/drawbacks/warded-against-nature/
“Animals do not willingly approach within 30 feet of you, unless you or the animal’s master succeeds at a DC 20 Handle Animal, Ride, or wild empathy check. Animal companions, familiars, and mounts granted by your class abilities are immune to this effect.”

I want to put the maps and images links at the top of the page like I've seen in other pbp threads. Anyone know what I'm talking about and how to do it? I'd like to get a basic setting map posted sometime this coming week and a few other things.
Also let me know what you think of ghostlight keep and if you have any cool ideas for locations. I'm really looking forward to running the first scenario. I think everyone will find the first act of the campaign really compelling.
| Zanbabe |
I don't know about the top of the page (must be a DM-only accessible area), but I assume that it is just using the same URL tags that you can use in messages or the stats/tagline area.
I personally like it when DMs put the links to the maps in the tagline area... way easier to find and go there during your turn, but of course top of the page also works. :)
If you don't know how to use the tagline area, see below.
In your profile are three fields that show when you are in gameplay (or discussion I think)... they show up in this order: Gender, Race, Classes / Levels, but you can just put all the links on one line. HERE is an example (the DM has links to maps in his tag, and you can see my character (Azarra) with the longest tagline I've ever had (by request of the DM). THIS is what it looks like on her page.
