The water in the well is fresh, you can drink it. It's not magic.
When searching the buildings you find a pay box containing 55 gp, you also uncover an accounting ledger hidden in an office. The incriminating ledger contains obvious accounting inaccuracies and notes regarding payments made to an unnamed criminal enterprise.
The camp is otherwise secure to stay for the night.

![]() |

"I agree. Let's rest here for the night and then start out again in the morning." Mikail will take the box of gold and the ledger. "We may or may not need this with the druids, but at least we can show this to the watch back in town and let them deal with it."

Zanu will rest here, but he will drag the unconcious bodies into the house furthest away from the one we stay in, ie. if we stay in northeast, they go in the southwest one, and close the door, and I will close our door too.

The night is silent and uneventful. From time to time you hear the conscious beast-men moan for a few minutes before they fall unconscious again.
Once you are prepared to leave the camp the next day, you head further into the woods and the effect of the ritual gets stronger.
Fortitude Save DC14 if you were not affected the first day

Fort Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Mikail wakes the next day and for a few minutes, he feels very funny.. his baser urges raging forward. After a few minutes, he manages to subliminate the weird feelings and shake off the funk before getting up and getting ready for the days journey.

Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Maldrek woke up and checked surrounding. Aspen, his horse was OK and other adventurers become to wake up.
"Let's get moving!", he said. "We need to reach that groove as soon as possible, to stop nonsense and bloodshed that are happening around. No doubt, lots of people were affected by this ritual."

![]() |

Fort 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Mido seems unfazed by the ill effects of the curse but none the less is not interested in sticking around any longer.
Agreed. Let's move on quickly

![]() |

Oh, lucky today ;)
You continue deeper into the woods. Suddenly a deep, placid river interrupts the path to Briar Henge. A few large logs have been placed across the river, providing a crude bridge to access the other side. Sunlight dapples the surface of the murky water, the result of branches crisscrossing the river high overhead.

![]() |

Maldrek decided that he better storm this trouble right away. He put his hammer back to a saddle ring and gave Aspen a command for fast move. They quickly approached river, when tiefling made his mount jump.
There is no jump command in Handle Animal description, I expect it might be form of movement or ride check. With Maldrek's weight and equip Aspen speed is 35 and he is med.load
1d20 ⇒ 20 +9-3-3 if Acrobatics, +10 if Ride, +7 if Handle Animal

Sidney expects trouble, he begins the ritual to bring an eagle into being to scout and support the crossing.

I will cast jump and assuming I don't get interupted, I run and jump from that space to that space. at the point where it seems narrowest.I left an arrow to show the point at which I jumped
acro: 9 - 1 - 4 + 10 + 1d20 ⇒ 9 - 1 - 4 + 10 + (10) = 24 9 acrobatics, 1 armor penalty, -4 on jumps due to speed, +10 from jump, I would jump at the very edge of where I would be allowed to jump from and try to make it across. I know that is is 3 full squares of water, plus 2 partial squares of water/rough edges, so the gap can range anywhere from 16 to 25 feet to clear it, dms call.

Mido climbs upon the log and makes his way over the river grasping an air crystal in his hand just in case.
Acrobatics 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Zanu and Maldrek don't have any difficulties to cross the river but as Mido tries to cross the river via the log he suddenly hears a strange noise. A second later a big axe swings his way. Mido reacts fast enough to dodge the axe and gets across withouth further incident.
Swinging Axe Trap: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

"Watch out!" he warned other friends and took out his warhammer, looking around for someone, who might done a trap. Axes do not appear from nowhere in the middle of river crossing. "If you are one who done this and you are watching us now, come here and explain yourself!" he screamed in the woods.

![]() |

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
The mechanism of the trap is very simple. The axe is tied to a tree and the other end of the rope is tied to the log. Whenever somebody steps on the log and moves or swings it slightly the axe unties an swings down from the tree.
Maldrek looks around but is not able to spot the creator of the trap. Suddenly an arrow flies towards Sidney.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
You spot an elf girl sitting in one of the trees. "Turn over the lycanthrope or you are all dead!" she shouts.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Mikail rushes across the log, keeping low from any further arrows or axes. Once one the other side, he pulls out his mace and calls out to the elf "What do you want with our friend? He is of no concern to you!"
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

![]() |

Mikail thinks that the Elf girl is a licanthrope hunter. She hunts for bounty. She's hostile.
"Your friend? Lycanthropes are dangerous killers! Watch out! Hand him over or you are dead! Either killed by him or me. Get them Jumble!" the elven druid lady on the tree ansers. Suddenly you see a crocodile moving in the water. It prepares to attack.

![]() |

Mikail pretends to think about things for moment, then replies"Nope. Dont think we will! However, If you are so concerned with Lyncanthropes, what are you doing hunting out here? These are not real lyncanthropes.. and we are headed to break the spell that is causing these transformations. Perhaps you would like to help.. or at least not impede us? I mean, after all, if you really are so concerned, then the last thing you would want is the whole area for miles around to be turned into beasts with no hope of ever coming back, right?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
And the dice are back to being cold again.

![]() |

"Yes, of course you do that. Tell me, why do they all have claws and fangs? Only a dead lycanthrope is a good lycanthrope!" she yells back.
Kardiv shoots at the crocodile and hits. Thee animal goes wild. Also the elf takes out more arrows from her quiver.

The elf is up the tree, about 15 ft., if you want to hit it you have to use ranged weapons or climb up.
Mido tries to convince the elf to come down and talk to him. The elf stops for a second but continues to fight. still unfriedly "You hooked up with a lycantrophe! I'm here to hunt them and save my people!"
Zanu shoots a magic missile at the croc and hurts it again.
