You try PMing me, coz it still doesn't work.
Or spoiler me your e-mail, is all the same to me :)

DM Rickmeister |

Nobody else?
If I haven't heard withing 24 hours, I'm assuming you'll continue to do what you did before this note.

DM Rickmeister |

I'm going to be completely excommunicado from the 24th to the 28th since I'll be sitting on a meadow in France in a medieval outit. ;)

DM Rickmeister |

Are you sure you want to see pictures of my long two-hander and me.. in action..? ;)

DM Rickmeister |

Oh sorry. We skipped to initiative, the loggers are waking up and appear agressive!

![]() |

Hey guys, very sorry that I have been MIA. Had some stuff go on that I won't get into, but again I am very sorry to have impacted gameplay. To make matters worse I will be going on an extended cruise and won't have internet service until like Aug 7. Totally understand if you want to drop me, its a huge gap. Would like to continue, but its not fair to ask you to go on with my absence. Again very sorry. If you do want to keep me around, even after the extended hiatus, that would be great, but no worries if not.

DM Rickmeister |

Yes, back now but will chase the story when i can turn on the brain again.
The "King's Guard" doesn't like it when you think for yourself :p

Rick, Horatius was doing nonlethal so our poor logger should be (sort of) ok. If he had 16 hp to start then the first 16 would be non-lethal and the following 14 would be lethal so he'd be at 2 "real" hp remaining with 16 nonlethal damage on him.

Oops, sorry I'd meant to look up the "tie up" rules but forgot to. Looks like it's just a standard action. The relevant rules are including in the grapple rule which is itself a standard action.
On the flip side using Escape Artist to get out of bindings takes a minute.

DM Rickmeister |

I'll work out something to send to you tomorrow in PM. Watch out for it.
Until you received that you're out of the game, so don't post anything please.

![]() |

All,
I will be away from the 14th - 18th as I will be attending GenCon to support my companies published games as well as play some Pathfinder Society. As such, with my experience from last year, I very likely won't get to post during that time, it's gaming/demoing from 8AM-Midnight everyday.
Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

![]() |

Hey, I will be there to I am playing in a couple of pathfinder games.
Night March of Kalkamedes at 8:00 am Fri
Seige of the Diamond City at 7:00 pm Fri
Maybe others, buts lots of games and events planned.

DM Rickmeister |

Dex, you not joining the party? I sent you a pm..? :-)

On the topic of casters and their beauty sleep, they don't need to specifically sleep but basically can't do anything...
Rest: To prepare his daily spells, a wizard must first sleep for 8 hours. The wizard does not have to slumber for every minute of the time, but he must refrain from movement, combat, spellcasting, skill use, conversation, or any other fairly demanding physical or mental task during the rest period. If his rest is interrupted, each interruption adds 1 hour to the total amount of time he has to rest in order to clear his mind, and he must have at least 1 hour of uninterrupted rest immediately prior to preparing his spells. If the character does not need to sleep for some reason, he still must have 8 hours of restful calm before preparing any spells.
It's a bit vague as it mentions not being able to hold a conversation or move but then references "fairly demanding" activity.
Interestingly divine casters don't require rest at all :
Time of Day: A divine spellcaster chooses and prepares spells ahead of time, but unlike a wizard, does not require a period of rest to prepare spells. Instead, the character chooses a particular time of day to pray and receive spells. The time is usually associated with some daily event. If some event prevents a character from praying at the proper time, she must do so as soon as possible. If the character does not stop to pray for spells at the first opportunity, she must wait until the next day to prepare spells
So I guess the moral is, if you're an arcane caster no late night partying!

DM Rickmeister |

So I guess the moral is, if you're an arcane caster no late night partying!
Makes the bards and sorcerers go: "" Whoop whoop!"

Actually, as I re-read that, it would appear that one can wake up, fight or take part in a conversation or something, then go back to bed, and compensate for it by tacking on an additional hour of sleep for each time you're woken up. Good to know.

DM Rickmeister |

I'm sorry, we've been spending some time renovating our backroom, and haven't been finding the energy to post up. I'll try to do so tomorrow, as it's 23hrs now. :)
You may remind me in 12 hours, just to be sure I notice it :D

DM Rickmeister |

Guys, in less than 10 hours I will be undergoing (major) eye surgery, so it's possible that I can"t react for 48 to 96 hours. Just a tiny head's up, and I'd appreciate it if you fudge the dice roll to make my doctor roll a natural 20 :D
/Rick

Rick, sorry should have updated Horatiuses health. He was at 8 after the first healing and would go to 9 after the second. The arrow takes him down to 2.
On the crocodile, with 1 point of healing he'd at best be at 0 (assuming he was at -1). If so he'd be staggered and would get a move or standard. You gave him a -4 to attack so I'm thinking he'd doing so from the ground but if not the move to get up would provoke from Horatius and Darius. If he did attack at 0 he'd drop to -1 again after.
Sincerely,
Paladin trying not to get eaten :)

DM Rickmeister |

Yup, he is indeed at 0, waking up enough to bite the person closest to its head, and then start 'dieing' again. :)
Sorry Hor, this reminds me of the time at a certain tower, where a certain paladin was climbing all by himself :P

I will be without a computer over the weekend. Please GMPC me as necessary. In combat, please use my new template - I think there's been enough time for the transformation to take over. I should be back by Monday evening or Tuesday morning.

DM Rickmeister |

Okidoki Darius, consider yourself one of my puppets :P
Could you help me a bit and pm me the "[dice]..." expressions of the various attacks and damage you have? Easier than typing it myself.
Also: I'm assuming you're going after the sniper?
@Horatius: Yep, it is.. And I figured it's very animal like to snap your jaws around the first target you see, not worrying about getting on your 'feet' to shake off the penalty.
Maybe you should take a shield to compensate for you low-armour class?

DM Rickmeister |

Just want to say: great roleplaying so far lads. Glad to be your (10% blind) dm :-D

DM Rickmeister |

I've been counting the trees, shrubbery etc as difficult terrain yes, so no charging.. Sorry :(

While Horatius is a bit too out of it to think of it, someone should probably search the elf. Would appear to have been a druid/ranger but didn't seem to care for our bestial look and so perhaps not part of the circle (in which case it's a shame we had to kill her).
