Information related to and about The Forgeway Company
(overland cargo carriers) permanently contracted to their needs. They employee more than 5000 people directly and thousands of over people in companies that at first glance have little or nothing to do with Forgeway. Their two major Divisions are the Passenger Service and the Freight Hauling Service but they have many smaller interests including credit services and banking. Hiram Forge is a good looking human male 39 years old, with blue eyes, and curly black hair. He has many powerful friends among the noble families and Imperial Officials. Terrance Forge is a tall human male, 37 years old, dark skinned and strikingly handsome man. Just as involved with the business as his brother he prefers a more hands on approach. A noted hunter and outdoorsman he is strong, athletic, and a dangerous warrior.

As she'd thought... she seemed to be the most obvious member of their group. Kariel twisted a bit of hair around one of her fingers as they moved, but her mind was soon moving to other matters. "...I'd like to go shopping at some point." she eventually said, looking at some of the wares that were visible in the town. One thing she'd learned over the years was that wealth tended to attract more wealth - and merchant towns like these were the sort of place that could hold many interesting things. If nothing else, she'd appreciate being able to find a good staff for the trip... or something equally useful. She did not, however, want to go looking for things all by herself.

Hmm... the Forgeway company is pretty large, and all self-made. They do passenger transport & cargo hauling. It'd be a pretty good idea to befriend them.
Kariel's request catches her attention. The idea of going shopping sounded pretty appealing; she had money to spend, and she was curious as to what she could find here.
"Mind if I tag along?" She asks.

| Kariel, Oracle of Korada |
"Not at all. To be honest, I'd much prefer to have the company... I'd rather not be kidnapped by slavers again." There was a smile on the Aasimar's face, but her tone was completely serious. As far as she was concerned, such an event was a very real and very serious threat, and one she needed to take into account. Especially considering that this was the lands where... no, that was in the past. For now, anyway.

Cerene says to Rowan "I'll go with you, getting the rooms will be easy, but seeing Terrance Forge can be hard to do, fortunately he's expecting me today, my father sent him a letter telling him I would be needing a horse. Horses are Mr. Forge's hobby. He enjoys not just riding them but breeding, raising and training them as well."

Kariel considered for only a moment before nodding her assent. As reliable as magic often was for self-defense, having an imposing member of the family around could be even more valuable as a deterrent. "Getting the paperwork submitted shouldn't be too difficult." Not since she knew the rituals, anyway - and she didn't mind the idea of going to see the local temple, either, considering what she was trying to do.

"I wantt to get a staff of some kind, but..." she frowned slightly. "I'm afraid I don't quite know how valuable they are. I may need to raise some funds first... perhaps a collection attempt during a sermon?" It was for a good cause, after all. Of course, that assumed there was anything appropriate within the town... it was entirely possible there wasn't.
But was she the type to go out and preach the virtue of charitable donations to further the efforts of the gods of good? Yes, yes she was. Particularly because she was entirely serious about her goals. Money was odd to her, and only mattered to the extent she needed it... and in this case, she wanted a walking staff. Considering how rare magic was, though, she wasn't sure how good her chances were. And when in doubt? They were expecting Cerene but the manager quickly comps a set of connecting suites when he sees the collection of Great House rings you all are wearing. He sends a messager accross the street to see if "Mr Forgeway" is ready to see you yet and suggests you all have some complimentary drinks while you wait.
Tassira, Kariel, Marrovak and his wolf go shopping together.... A reciepe for diaster that no one sees comming. Shy self doubting, and sheltered Tassira; unworldly and inexperienced Kariel; fierce, savage, and baffled by civilians Marrovak; and a rather large wolf who seems to be silently laughing about something.
The frist part of the trips starts off okay as Tassira almost like a homing pidgeon leads the group to the bookseller's street, but the patrons (and some of the owners) seem to disappear for some reason whenever the four of you are gathered together. Tassira finds it just about impossilbe to buy anthing becuse the booksellers are too nervous of Marrovak and Chalimer or too fasinated by Kariel to get more than 2 coheirent words stung together.
Well their was that one store and Tassira was sure that the those weren't the real prices ...

Kariel made a mental note to ask her gods for something to help her while she was shopping. Either that or she could ask Tassira to do all of it for her, but... Kariel wasn't entirely sure she wanted to rely on others for basic tasks in life.
...
Shopping was a basic task, wasn't it? She sighed slightly, then clasped her hands together and focused her thoughts to help dispel the ill-will generated by failure. She did put one hand on Tassira's shoulder a moment later, though.

"Thanks." She stops waving her hands about.
"You know, there are spells that exist that allows one to disguise another person's true form... I should really look into learning one that will help you talk with shopkeepers without them getting so distracted." She says, a blush on her face.
Not that I can really blame them, but it's only appropriate to help your customers without staring at them, no matter how outlandish they look.

Meanwhile back in the lobby, Vigar tries to get Hirako to open up more.
"Hirako, take a deep breath and think back to happy times with your parents, they wouldn't want you to grieve them while you are still in possible danger now isn't it? Tell me your dreams or your favourite things. Tell me of times that you loved spending with your parents in honor of them. Here let me show you a skill my grandfather tried to teach me. I did not receive this simply to hide it away." she held up her odd, oversized arm. "Still, I appreciate the thoughtfulness." she smiled at Tassira, then nodded to Marrovak, acknowledging his words. "Perhaps we should try asking around to see what goods are available before we enter another shop?" At least, it probably wouldn't hurt... not any more than that book had, anyway. They'd already stuck out more than was really necessary, and there couldn't have been too many shops featuring magical wares, so such information would almost certainly be easy to find... unless the shop was lying low, but that would be-

Kariel your detect magic shows the things you and your companions have, but magic is pretty rare in this day and age unless you are in the vincity of the bookstore* you left you won't see any magic anywhere without a lot of searching. Kariel looked at the vials inside of the windows, then shook her head. "Well, at least we'll have a story to tell when we get back. I'm sorry for dragging the two of you all the way out here and not being able to find anything." It had been a long shot anyway, though it had at least been rather... educational. Still, it was probably for the best if they went back to the Inn before any further madness occurred. She'd have to check in the larger cities, then... of course, on top of that, "I should probably stop by the temple on our way back. There's Rowan, intelligent, brave and strong with the greatest potential to get married now among us.
Sweet Tassira, though you might have to end up taking care of her as she doesn't seem to have spent much time outdoors.

Pausing a while, Vigar thinks about everything that lead to all this and can't help but give a self-deprecating chuckle.
And finally there's me, who goes insane if I'm left in my trance unchecked.
"Hirako." Vigar asks hesitantly.

Wait, we saw what? Kariel thought, slightly unnerved by the woman's words. A reference to the Professor was particularly interesting, and not at all what she'd expected... though at the same time, there was the possibility that the woman was lying simply to get them into the shop. As you approach he turns and looks over your group his dark blue eyes look cold for a moment and then they seem to warm up.
"Cerene of House Avergnon," he steps forward and shakes Cerene's hand, "and friends." He looks at Cerene, "Your father wrote that you would be needing a horse, does that hold true for your friends of House Trin and House Alenkine as well?". He flashes a charming smaile.

Tassira pales. Already she and Kariel were attracting the wrong sort of attention.
She looks over to the two potion bottles Kariel pointed out before they went in.
"May I ask what those potions over there are?" She asks, pointing the bottles out.

| Kariel, Oracle of Korada |
Taking 10 (+6) on Spellcraft and Knowledge (Arcana)
Kariel didn't seem particularly surprised at the woman's words - it certainly wouldn't have been the first time people had cut off her body parts for reasons of their own, much less tried other things. No, the real question was how to deal with such events, and it wasn't hard to see why Granny was thinking of the hat as a good solution. After all, it wasn't an uncommon thing for people to want to hide from danger. There were many times when hiding was a good option, and very sensible besides. It gave you comfort, security, and a way to advance your own goals while evading some trials.
"So they're foreign..." Kariel mused thoughtfully, considering her own timetable. Well, the good part was that there ought to be some sort of information delay over longer distances, though when she really started making waves locally, she'd have to make sure nobody took advantage of it to do something silly like invading the land.

Vigar answer keeping close enough to Hirako but not to close.
"Yes. We would like horses for ourselves."
Don't really like the look of him. Those eyes.
