Kariel winced at the impact of another blow, one that had narrowly gotten through her defenses and managed to connect with her despite the protection that her wings provided. Her wings remained folded, though - she wasn't very good in this kind of close combat, at least without time to prepare, and was instead doing all she could to stay out of everyone else's way instead of exposing herself and making things even worse.

At this point, Tassira takes notice of the skeletons trying to hurt Kariel. She points two fingers at the skeletons and utters another incantation, her eyes briefly flashing blue.

Two bolts of magic leap from her fingers to unerringly strike the oracle's undead assailants, one for each of them.

Most of their foes were crushed, now, beneath the power that her family wielded. There was no time for pride, though. "Thank you!" Kariel said calmly, pivoting to face the other skeletons now that the immediate threats to her had been dealt with. By her estimation, things would be over in just a moment, and she muttered under her breath as she put a hand against Tassira and sent a small surge of healing energy into her. Her greater spells she was saving for later, but she could at least get started on helping the others.

Tassira feels relief at Kariel's healing magic beginning to stitch her up.

"Well, that was... unpleasant."

Kariel nodded quietly as she continued casting, working to spread a little more energy throughout the group before they continued on. They did have to balance speed of advancement with the need to remain healthy, and be much more cautious as they continued... fantastic power didn't necessarily equate to invincibility, after all.

Kariel will be casting Cure Minor Wounds until the party leaves the room, trying to keep the healing even. ^^

Tassira looks on as Kariel's magic slowly heals everyone, looking between her and the sigil she saw before the skeletons took exception to their presence. Not that she wanted to seem unappreciative (far from it--taking a sword to the gut hurt like hell, and any relief would be welcome at this point), but they were still on the clock.

Also, she has no idea how long her mage armour will last down here.

She fidgets about, examining the sigil to pass the time.


You realize that the symbol you are looking at is the symbol of the ancient temple. The map you have says that a secret door is hidden behind it. It doesn't take long before you find the opening switch. With that doorway open you know that you face a tunnel of over 200 feet before you reach the temple's lower levels.

Kariel can have everyone back up to full hit points in 3 to 5 minutes using minor healing. Tassira your mage armor should last at least another 170 minutes after that.

Once Kariel has finished healing them, Tassira walks over to the sigil.

"According to the map I found, there should be a secret door here..." She says as she feels around the sigil.

While Tassira was doing that, Kariel was quietly picking up the skulls, putting them back in the alcoves, and offering a short prayer for each of the departed. "Does the map say anything about traps in the tunnel?" she asked, glancing towards the passageway when she were done. It was certainly best to be on the safe side after what they'd already gone through, and part of her was carefully considering the value of one spell she'd realized she could cast.

Tassira looks at the map. "Well... it doesn't seem to... but then again, if we're dealing with intelligent undead here, I wouldn't put it past them to have trapped it."

Vigar Waits as Kariel heals everybody I'm assuming she does.. Upon the discovery of the door, holding out an arm.
"Let me go first. If there's some kind of harmful trap, I would be the best one to take it. It seems that there is power I have that allows me to heal very quickly when I took the Oath. This is part of the reason why I could fight so hard in the previous nights, taking wounds enough to kill most normal people and still be standing." he pauses to allow his family to step back as he opens the door.

"Worry not for me should it be some physical trap, I'll heal up though I suspect I can't do it forever and there's a limit as well. I'm still exploring what I can do and this ability is new to me as well." grinning in assurance to his family, he reaches out to activate the switch that'll open the door.

He takes his time, looking for the secret door carefull.Taking 20 on Perception=25


The party figure out how to open the secret door easily and then find no traps. They do notice that the footprints of the undead that they spotted going into this crypt also go door the hallway behind the secret door.

The party cautiously makes their way down the long passage way until they com to where the passaway branches as show on the map. The party can proceed to the west or continue south either way the map show a secret door ahead.

Kariel glanced at the map as they moved, casting Light on another stone just to be sure they'd have enough illumination. One of the doors said that it opened up right behind a statue of some kind... that was kind of strange, wasn't it? Of course, this seemed to be the back entrance, so perhaps that was meant more for people heading the other way... though, Vigar was in front anyway, and she trusted him enough to follow along with his decision. She was studying the map of the complex instead, just to be sure she had the layout fixed firmly in her mind.

He looks down and around to study the place. His spear at the ready.

Oh. Well, in that case... "To the side." she said decisively. "I'd rather not have anything in a side room sneaking into our escape passage while we were looking elsewhere, so we should probably make sure all of it is clean." More to the point, they could probably use the door as a good way of holding back anything that might be moving around in there, forcing them to come to the group...

By the way... Kariel was healing Vigar, too. ^^

"Let's get this door open, then." She readies her magic and steps aside for one of the more martially-inclined of her party to open it.

Vigar steps up, Spear at the ready.
"Open on the count of three. One.........Two......Three!" he opens the door, crouching to enable him to pull forth a quick movement if needed.


Splintered furniture and heaps of debris fill this room. At one time, a row of wooden pegs along the wall probably held anumber of dark, hooded robes, but the pegs have disintegrated and the robes are small piles of rotten cloth on the floor. Against one wall there are several sacks of rootten graain and the sour smell of old vinegar fills the room.

She takes a look around the room, trying to see if there's anything out of the ordinary here.

Two things catch your eye. 1)One of the rotted robes has something in it's pocket, without looking closer you can't deal exactly, but your gut says something hard and metalic. 2)There's something moving under the rotting grain bags, again without looking closer you're not sure what but your guess is one or more small animals.

"Hmmmm Supplies. Wonder if anything can be made into a meal or something." Vigar muses considering that this could mean that their quarry at least has to eat.

Stepping into the room and then prodding said bags with his spear, looking to perhaps scare what ever is there away.


Rowan you don't notice anything out of ordinary in this room, you also can't find any tracks.

Vigar these supplies are spoiled but they don't look that they are hundreds of years old either, something weird about that. Also it is very likely that their may be other store rooms around.

Tassira's eyes widen at the sight of the swarm. "Oh, great..."

She turns to the rest of the team. "Guys, if any of you have alchemist's fire or acid, better use it now! There's too many of them to hurt with conventional weapons!"

She turns back to the swarm, and calling upon her oath-given power, focuses. Her eyes glow blue, and a small clap of thunder can be heard.

Her fingertips are sparking, but not with electricity. She forces both hands in front of her, sending a cone of fire at the centipedes!

Once the fire lands, Tassira runs to a corner of the room.

Kariel slipped into the room, taking great care to aim away from her friends as she pointed a finger and spoke a short, sharp word. Following right on the heels of Tassira's fire came a burst of light and color, made all the more potent by the effects of Kariel's connection to the heavens. "That should do." she said calmly... though she did shudder slightly. She was not particularly fond of such creatures. However, her spell was one that hit everything in range, so it ought to do quite nicely for disrupting their actions and allowing the others to finish them off...

Cast: Color Spray, DC 16 Will negates. (+Awesome Display: Creatures are treated as having -5 HD for the purposes of the spell's effect.) 6/7 1st level spells remaining today.

The swarm takes full damage from Tassira's spell, Kariel's spell has a devasting effect as well as the the centipedes suddenly stop moving.

Vigar is up to finish the top half of the round, then Rowan, but Kariel's spell has knocked out the swarm for 3 rounds, and rendered them combat ineffective for another 4 ... So combat is over assuming you all post logical actions that will finish off a swarm.

An idea comes into Tassira's head. It causes her to smirk. "Actually, let's see if we can gather them into sacks and seal them up. I have a feeling they could come in handy..."

She picks out a sturdy-looking sack and begins scooping centipedes into it.

Vigar grins as he begins to catch on. Joining Tassira, he hurries to scoop more centipedes into the sacks available.


Vigar and Tassira manage to scoup up a sack full of centipedes, but you realize that even the best sack you can find is just barely up to the job because of the age of the material.

Kariel frowned slightly. This... didn't really seem like it was going to work too well. Fortunately, they still had a bit of time before the creatures woke up, but... "Layering the bags might help, but it's probably safer to just dispose of them." she reasoned out. "I don't think they'll be too effective on anything else we're likely to find inside. If we can find a good jar, I can probably drown them or something so we can conserve our energy." She calmly glanced around, checking to see if any such item was available.

With the swarm handled for now, Tassira walks over to the robe with the hard metallic object in it and starts going through its pockets.
