I've updated profile to show my new Ranger with back story and such. There is a lot of amazing characters here.

Fiendish:
I have a hook with the sleeve i got, not sure what you will make of this but i left it open to what it could be.

I've made some edits to Turrey Butterhill, and finished spending his copious 50 GP.

I believe your four Qs are answered in his background and personality, but

Where were you and what were you doing on the night of Red Harvest?
At the Magnimar temple of Desna, preparing a dinner for the congregants, only to run out of the kitchen to the courtyard and see his mentors dying as their divine power failed to materialize.

Have you had to do anything you regret in order to make it this far?
Turrey still beats himself up for hiding instead of fighting when the rest of the Desnans were being killed by the zombies, though he knows he would have surely died beside them. Since then, while he's returned to sneaking to survive he hasn't stooped to stealing from his fellow survivors. To the contrary, he's trying to help them when possible and has vowed not to turn tail on friends next time.

Have you got family out there or just a strong desire to survive? What gets you through?
His birth family was dead or otherwise lost to him before the Red Harvest ever happened. The church of Desna more than filled that role for him for a brief, golden time, but as far as he knows most if not all of his fellow clerics and acolytes perished in the first wave of attacks. What keeps him going is:
* trying to live up to the memory of his mentor, Father Sevrille, who took him off the streets
* a believe that good still exists, and that Desna and the other good gods will someday return

For those creating divine casters... what makes you special that you still have a connection to your powers?
Apparently not enough. ;-)

Anyone else holding their breath?

I have poor lung capacity so I'm just hyperventilating.

several muck ups fixed on my character, it's now ready

Ok, here he is, I believe everything is in order.

I don't think anyone needs to worry about having their character sheet perfect to be chosen. :)

It'll be exciting just to watch this tale unfold.

Awesomeness awaits!

Just under 6 hours till the application deadline!

As Kaars says don't worry you'll be affected by spelling or the odd incorrect number here or there. Fluff and feel first, crunch second ;)

Well it looks like i will be unable to get a character ready in time (im working on other submissions atm) so i will humbly bow out :)
Good luck!!!

Forgot to answer these before.

Where were you and what were you doing on the night of Red Harvest?
Riko was at a small roadside tavern in the middle of nowhere. A piercing scream filled the air causing several patrons to rise hastily and draw their weapons. The dead began to pound at the front door of the tavern. Eventually the door gave and the dark creatures filled the room tearing people apart where they stood. Riko wished he could help but he knew that he was no match. He snuck away out the back door and ran as fast as he could.

Have you had to do anything you regret in order to make it this far?
Beside leaving many people to die on the night of red harvest Riko had to kill his only friend after he turned and attacked him.

Have you got family out there or just a strong desire to survive? What gets you through?
Riko has no family that he knows of. He isn't a hero either. He believes that these monsters must be destroyed but he won't throw his life away for that cause.

Thank you for your interest, applications are now closed for this campaign.

I now have a nigh-impossible task to accomplish, in narrowing down 26 applicants to one party.

There was much wringing of hands and wrangling of brain, but try as I might I can't envisage this as a multi-table kind of thing. I also considered starting you ALL off 'in media res' on the road to Sandpoint, and throwing nasty things at you until there were only a few left to get to sanctuary. I thought it was a good concept at first, but have concluded it would be too arbitrary. Whilst there would be much great RP potential, seeing who sacrificed themselves, who tried to help others etc, in the end we wouldn't necessarily end up with the best group for telling this story *sigh*

OK, I can't put it off any longer, have to go do some picking now.

I wish you all the best, and will announce the roster as soon as I can.

We all want to get selected to play in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-ridden hell hole of world where scrapping around for every little piece of half-rotten food could mean the difference between death and living another horrible day.

What's wrong with us??

Why is there no 'prepared for the zombie apocalypse' characters who have been waiting for such a thing to happen for years?? hahahah

I'm not sure which class would best suit the fully prepped apocalypse survivor.... The jack-of-all-trade guys like inquisitor or bard? I'm hoping alchemist would have a good shot which I why I decided to submit one lol

Did our charcters have zombie plans?

The forum ate my submission from last night, so I'll try and post it again hoping you'll consider it and aren't done picking.

===================================================
Background
Once again the flask was in his hands. They had sought it out by themselves in his worn backpack. He uncorked the bottle and held it under his nose inhaling the faint smell of Elven wine. Nothing was left save the smell and the memories that came with them. That was all he had left now memories, his life was empty like the bottle. He rested his back against the tree and let the smell carry him away to days past.

”What worries you Palantir?” Passing by on his way to refill a wine bottle for their travels the young warrior had found their leader standing outside the inn looking in direction of the Harvest day bonfire. ”Something is wrong Telellë. It is why we visited distant Mordant” Suddenly the old wizard drew in a sharp breath, ”Rouse the others, bring your weapons. He began chanting while Seldlon hurried off. He scrambled to their quarters, bursting through the door and quickly grapping his weapons. His fellow protectors looked up ”Palantir needs us armed outside.” They sprung into action and he rushed back. Storming outside arrow ready he found his first target, a cultist moving ahead of the shambling horde. The little unit fought fiercely, searching for the source of the scourge. One by one they fell to the tide of the undead. The last one to fall was the seer, their leader. Seldlon tried to stay the fatal blow with his bow, but the zombie broke it and gorged itself on the ancient Elven flesh. Shocked he fled towards the inn, ignoring the villagers fighting for their life. He even lured the zombies away from the inn, baiting them with innocent villagers, while he grappled what belongings he could an fled.

Oh how he hated that memory. It was as if he had lost a piece of his soul that day. It went against everything he had been thought growing up in ancient Kyonin, the values of caring for even the lesser develop races of Golarion. His parents had both stressed this in their own ways, the stories his father told and his mother’s loving guidance. Where they still alive? What about Nordlara, was she? Their last adventure in the meadows had been the day before he had left for this journey.

Personality
Tired, friendly, loyal, sad;

Once a bundle of energy and happiness Seldlon is now marked by the Red Harvest and the flight that followed. He strides to become the person he once was, but he is simply to worn out.

Description
Ht: 6' 0"
Wt: 150lbs
Age: 131
Hair: Chestnut
Eyes: Green
Skin: A very light tanned hue

Not much of the glory of days past is left in Seldlon’s appearance. While he still stands tall compared to most of the other common races, much of his other features have lost their spark. His eyes are now dull, his hair dirty and unruly and his skin is paler than ever. The friendly, warm welcoming demeanour he once had has been replaced with a tried, worn out one, much like the damaged, dirty grey silken overtunic and trousers.

What's wrong with us??

Probably an easier question to answer is "What's not?"

Oh the antici............... pation!

Good luck everyone!

Anyone know what time zone Fiendish is in? lol

So do the people who *don't* make it in also get eaten?

*looks at the zombies banging on the waiting room door*

I'm not too worried about that. It didn't take the first time.

Sirina's Zombie Plan:

1) Zombies always attack from outside the castle. Stand on the walls and throw insults at them until they got enough.

2) If you can't see them, they can't see you. Cover your eyes.

3) Zombies hate positive emotions, especially songs. Singing helps. Try "The Hooters" or "The Cranberries".

Unfortunately she found that there were some flaws in her plan. That's the dumb thing with apocalypse plans. You need an apocalypse to test them. Maybe that's the true reason behind all the apocalypse, someone wanted to test their plan...

The playlist for all who are waiting:
The Hooters - All You Zombies [on YouTube] [on Spotify]
The Cranberries - Zombie [on YouTube] [on Spotify]
Nouvelle Vague (covering Bauhaus) - Bela Lugosi's Dead [on YouTube] [on Spotify]
Rob Zombie - Dragula [on YouTube] [on Spotify]

Now that I'm thinking about it I kinda wish I had submitted an ex-cultist of Tar-Baphon. Worked for years to bring about the Red Harvest and then it happened and now he's like; Hmmmm.....crap. Didn't think this through.

I just really like the idea of the campaign the potential RP aspect of it all. Then the wait... Its a killer, I was also reading through some submissions and some are really good some interesting ideas in everyone's back story.

Sorry guys. Fiendish got turned at the last minute. Its over...

Silver Crusade

lol. she had to take the long way around. The horde cut her off.

Angelena's zombie plan
Run faster than everyone else

Silver Crusade

channel ALL the positive energy!

Put them to sleep.

Silver Crusade

and by positive energy, i mean I will bake them cupcakes and treats smothering them in so much positiveness they just crumble!>

Grrr! Arggghhh!!!

I live in New Zealand (GMT +12) for those who were wondering. It's the evening here now, and I'm not exaggerating when I say this has taken me all day.

This was hard, you guys have done very well to put me in such a situation! I could seriously have made 2 or even 3 good parties. The final 6 (Yes I've had to up it to 6 because I just couldn't get it down to any less and felt you guys deserved it!) have changed a few times throughout the course of today as I've juggled parties in my head. But I can't prevaricate forever. You all want to hear the results, so here we go:

Azmerai
Lenneth Barlow
Lilith Sylvari
Polonius Fynch
Shomari Kali
Turrey Butterhill

Congratulations, please report to the discussion thread.

I'm so sorry to those who didn't get in. Believe me if we have any casualties or drop outs, I have no need to re-open recruitment, I will just contact you via PM to ask if you are still interested.

Thank you so much, this was my first recruitment thread and it's been amazing, I wish you all the best in the future :)

Arghh no zombies are eating arghhh!
(crunching noises year for a few minutes)

have fun guys

*dies to zombie horde*

so long

Thanks for the selection, Fiendish :)

One thing I would say is that because this isn't an AP, but just a really cool idea, I think it brought some of the best out of the community here in coming up with imaginative and interesting characters so props to everyone and I hope I get to play with some of you guys soon.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Thanks Fiendish, have a great game everyone!

And by 'great game', I mean 'a harrowing and disturbing adventure that involves the arbitrary and gory demise of everyone you care about'. ; )

Thanks GM fiendish.
Have a nice time getting eaten after watching everyone and everything you have ever loved torn away from you.

Azmerai - Half-Orc Barbarian
Turrey Butterhill - Halfling Rogue
Shomari Kali - Hobgoblin Ranger
Polonius Fynch - Gnome Alchemist
Lilith Sylvari - Elven Wizard
Lenneth Barlow - Human Witch

Looking forward to surviving with you all. But sad face to the lack of a cleric...!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Angelina, Kaars, cynarion and billybrainpan: I'm serious when I say how tough this was, thank you again for your time and great character concepts :)

@Polonius: Pish, I don't know why you're worrying, half of your party can heal, what could possibly go wrong?!

Azmerai happy survived so far. Will take care that we all survive a bit longer!

Thanks, Fiendish, and enjoy everyone! I look forward to adding this game to my must read list. Now let's see how long you survive the undead horde . . .

Aw, looks like Gundar got devoured! Have fun everybody.

Congrats everybody, I am going to try and follow this campaign as it sounds really interesting!

I'll also be watching. This looks like a really fun premise.

Silver Crusade

Welp that's that ah well lol no divine people survived XD. soon as he steps out of the temple, Daniel is eaten , nomnomnom.

Anyway, it isn't as interesting a concept as this one was. But any who want to take a look I am recruiting for a homebrew myself. (Sorry for semi-advertising On your thread, just letting others who got eaten there's another potential game if it fits there fancy, its no survival horror though. Sorry guys!)

Am I missing the point if I say I hope goblins show up at some point in this game?

Maybe a goblin druid. Hey, divine magic is divine magic. Beggars can't be choosers. ;D

Good day to you, and welcome to The Walking Dead of Golarion's re-recruitment thread!

Due to that pesky real-life thing catching up to some of my players, there is a space or two open in the campaign for the right survivor!

This is the original recruiting post, there are many like it but this one is mine ;)

Same character creation guidelines as in the original post linked above, previous applicants are invited to re-apply with either a new creation or their old one.

I'll leave recruitment open until Noon GMT on Saturday 5th July and make my decision within 24 hours.

Best of luck!

Ah, forgot to say...you can stat them at level 2!
