@Nolath alright was just curious.
I know I said I was going to announce the first player on Monday, I lied in 2 instances: 1) I am late, was waiting on aliases and looking over bios and crunch as well as juggling life, sorry. and 2) I am going to be announcing TWO players! Just couldn't decide between the two, so yeah.
Unlike other DMs as I have noticed, I will also give you my reasoning for picking the players I picked, those who end up not being picked don't take these reasons as your lack thereof, I put a lot of thought into the ones I pick and though you may not have been picked it is most likely because you lost but just a itsy bitsy hair, stay encouraged and shoot for more opportunities! Who knows I may need replacements down the line.
AND the not one but two first-choice players ARE:
*drumroll*
Nolath's player dragonflyer1243 showed many points of acceptability throughout his character sheet, first off a Bloodrager/Paladin is a frightening combination and intrigued me, second his typing and organization was clear and professional, and third, though not lastly, his extensive backstory fit very well into the campaign by staying open and flexible while at the same time providing important details about his character's past.
Burns' player HighonHolyWater, caught my eye the moment he posted his idea. Ratfolk is not a race you see many people play, and he paired it with a deadly magical combo of Mindchemist and Wizard, using his cognitagen to further boost his flexible and powerful spells. His character meshed well with dragonflyer's both in the fact that their alignments were both copacetic and discordant with eachother and their roles in battle covered eachother's weaknesses.
I will have the discussion thread open by tomorrow. The rest of you KEEP AT IT! You have until the 30th, where I will pick the remaining 2 or 3 players.

Congrats to both of you.
@BigP4nda - thank you for committing to justifying your selections. This would be something that I would love to see in every recruitment. Provided acknowledgment to the selected players' hard work when creating the characters, AND helps answer the question everyone has immediately after selections, "Why wasn't I picked?".
Anxious to see who will join them!

Yes, until the 30th
Awesome. Admittedly, this is my first day on the site so I just noticed the "30th" deadline after I posted, lol.
Given that fact, I am still kind of learning my way around here, so any guidelines or assistance is appreciated. For now, I'm assuming the way to go is just roll all the dice here on this thread, put together my character sheet/backstory, throw it all onto my profile, and let you know when it's finished? owo;
BigP4nda |
That pretty much sums it up, make sure to stay within the guidelines presented (which aren't much) make sure you read through the recruitment thread for I have posted some additional rules and amendments to the original guidelines throughout the thread. If you have any questions feel free to post them here or shoot me a PM.

Okay, here goes nothin'!:
20d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 4, 1, 4, 1, 5, 5, 6, 2, 3, 3, 2, 5, 5, 3, 4, 1, 4) = 66
Rerolls:
7d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 3, 5, 6, 4) = 25
1d6 ⇒ 1
1d6 ⇒ 3
Geez, not as good as I would have liked, but I'll make it work somehow I suppose ^^
(2 Sixes) 6 6
(6 fives) 5 5 5 5 5 5
(5 fours) 4 4 4 4 4
(7 threes) 3 3 3 3 3 3 3
Edit!
I remember back on the first page seeing someone who rolled similar stats as I have, and you allowed them to switch a few 3's to 4's. May I do the same? I know it's on a case-by-case basis so worries if not ^^
Also, just a quick rules question: Would the Zen Archer Monk Archetype apply to firearms under your ruleset?
Inalynn |
Awesome, thank you.
And 100% understood on the "zenslinger" idea, haha. I was just brainstorming ideas, and it was one of the sillier ones that I wasn't really too interested in.
I'm planning on playing a character I've been developing for some time now, and she's always just been played as a base gunslinger. I'm trying to figure out what her other half would be, flavor-wise. I'm leaning toward either Inquisitor or Slayer.
Also, I have another question, link for reference: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/other-races/featured-races/arg-tiefling
Hypothetically, if I were going to go down a dual-wielding/TWF build, would I be able to use the tiefling's Prehensile Tail ability to hold onto my gun/bullets, allowing her to reload as a free action (given an advanced Pistol and Rapid Reload)?
Edit!
Also, how important is Weight/Carrying capacity? Should everything be tracked, or is it on a "within reason" basis?
Inalynn |
Gestalt Rules
The rules can be found here ^^
Edit!
In summary, you'll be playing two classes simultaneously, taking the best stats (HD, Skills, Saves, etc) between them, and the class features and spells/abilities of both.
Inalynn |
@Inalynn you could still reload as a free action even without the tail. You could certainly use the tail for flavor if you would like. There are plenty of ways to reload two pistols in style, and I assume your character would be able to do that.
Weight/Capacity is going to be "within reason"
I certainly won't argue with that! :3
Speaking of rules pertaining to gunslingers, do you use the "Daring Act" optional rule--the one that briefly translates to "if the gunslinger does something awesome enough to impress the DM, they recieve a Grit point"?
Other than that, I have my character's numbers and such all put together, I just need to look into the Gunslinger/Inquisitor vs Gunslinger/Slayer internal debate one last time to make sure I'm happy with it. I like the neat tricks Inquisitor can do (like WIS to initiative and such), but a lot of their abilities are once-per-day things and so Slayer seems a lot more practical, and it doesn't seem like we're really hurting for another 1/3 divine caster.
I do need to speak with you in PMs soon though to put my backstory together. I have a basic outline of what it is, but given the new campaign, some details (such as specific places and events) will need to be changed to fit your world/lore.

Here is my entry into this foray Jonuli Mudarch. I plan on going Dragon Disciple with him and possibly the dimensional agility chain. He's meant to be a mage killer rather than a front line fighter. The deep strike.
I still need to gear him and choose spells.

really? You certain?
After the two picks already announced are a Bloodrager/Paladin Melee guy and a Mindchemist/Wizard Arcane Caster.
Plus I'm Sorcerer/Brawler that announced to go Dragon Disciple/Brawler.
So, yeah, I think I had slim chances beforehand considering the existing picks, but it kind of surprises me you would duplicate this, at this time, rather hopeless entry with your own :)

I still think both of you have a chance. Heck, the group could have all arcane casters for all we know. It all depends on what the GM decides.
I wouldn't assume or call anything hopeless until BigP4nda actually makes those decisions. Anyway it looks like the GM is going to have a lot on their plate... Only three more days to go! Good luck everyone! ^_^

Sweet to say. Yes, of course, there is a chance. I suppose it depends on the number of spots GM intends to fill.

@Stoned in Zion, I will regrettably have to say no to being undead, unless you choose vampire template, the only other way would be to either become a lich, or you could die and have some random necro raise you, though you wouldn't be in control of your character.
@Ikari, that's fine, idk if you knew about it, but there is a trait that let's the monk ignore the lawful restriction. EDIT scratch that, it's an aasimar trait

Also I want to say this now: While the deadline is on the 30th, I most likely will not be able to post result until either the 1st or 2nd. The new Avengers movie comes out and I am seeing the premiere showing @ 8 on the 30th, so my night is taken up :P I will mostly spend my day frantically shifting between characters pulling my hair out to decide just which few I will somehow settle with. Until then keep up the good work!
I would still like to see submissions from those who have expressed interest but haven't finished their characters.

I have a similar engagement and it is a double feature of 1 and 2 ... :-)

There is also a Mythic Feat that allows this too but that is currently out of scope since I haven't been chosen {yet - crosses fingers}, nor do we start off as mythic characters, nor is it a Tier 1 feat ... LOL
