GM, my understanding is that only one of the hobgoblins is blind from Maxim's shot and the other and myself are Dazzled?

Ruben blinks hard as stars and motes of light suddenly dance before his eyes.

He tries to shake them away before stepping up and thrusting St the other hobgoblin.

Round 11

Marigold swallows hard as Ruben suddenly moves to the southern door and Maxim creeps closer, readying his firearm. Kikinnin, JJ, and Ryan had their own problems to deal with; it would be up to the rest of them to deal with whatever comes through that door. With a pang, she realizes that her morningstar still lies on the floor back by the table so she instead draws her tiny dagger and moves to offer Ruben some backup.

"મને રક્ષણ Yondalla, Pelor મને તાકાત આપી..." she whispers, eyes wide.

Abyssal:

"Yondalla protect me, Pelor give me strength..."

Marigold draw her weapon and move up behind Ruben, then cast Guidance on herself. She doesn't know about the flare cartridge either :)

Round 12

Fort (DC 15): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 To save the GM a little time.

As soon as the southern door bursts open and before Marigold even has a chance to react, the world suddenly explodes in a burst of light and stars as she hears Maxim's firearm discharge. Even with her eyes watering, she bravely staggers forward and attempts to stick the only standing foe that she can discern.

Holding the line, JJ is somewhat rattled by the strength of hte goblin he fights. Still he feels his heritage call to him.

JJ is of the line of Surabar. He is the Last of the line of Surabar - the pure line anyway. And the line of Surabar will not fail this day, at least, he hopes not.

This time the sword slides all the way into his opponent. JJ wiggles it around, a little surprised to see it come out the back of the goblin.

"Get out from under my town."

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Indeed, you are right Ruben, my fault. I will take it as the blinded one was the one to fall, as that was making certain the crit and we have to retcon less

Kikinnin answers with a mighty axe cut on the bugbear's left arm!

Dazzled by the flash, Ruben and Marigold attacks hit the door frame instead of the hobgoblin.

JJ continues moving his swords in a ferocious attack, one of them drops the hobgoblin to the floor, while in a following wave he stabs his Surabar sword in Kazhun's back, hitting just on one lung. The bugbear shrieks in pain and turns towards the odd hobgoblin.

He moves across and tries his best to put himself between the hobgoblin and the cleric.

JJ steps forward to allow more allies to help fight the massive bugbear. Well, not as massive as the dwarf but...

"We have them on the run.." he yells, forgetting in the heat of battle that Marigold can't understand.

His twin swords again lash out, knowing now that he has the bugbears attention and if he doesn't kill it fast, that morning star will be the end of him.

AGain it is his offhand blade doing the damgae. The creature can't parry both, and it licks out, giving another light wound. Or does that hardy dwarven armor catch it - its hard to tell in the hellish light of hte forge.

Although she can't understand what Ruben or Maxim are saying, Marigold does recognize the sound of her own name and realizes that they're wanting her to do something - but what? She shakes her head frantically, trying to indicate that she doesn't understand. And with the stars mercifully beginning to fade from her vision, she tries again to stick the lone hobgoblin squaring off against Ruben and herself.

Ruben cuts through the hobgoblin's belly causing a large gash while Maxim readies his dagger and Marigold distracts the creature with her attacks.

JJ finds Kazhun fine dwarven armo with his attacks, deflected once and again, same as Ryan's ones, even when the last one hit with the mace comes with a lot of strength.

Even the reckless Kikinnin finds the bugbear's armor impassable.

Without bodering on the enemies surrounding him, Kazhun launches another attack over JJ.

The last hobgoblin attacks Marigold, but the blade is deflected by the halfling's new armor.

"Arrghhhhhh" is the cry from JJ.

She can't bloody understand me! Ruben shouts over his shoulder to Maxim. Just like all the other women in my life! he jokes.

Well Hell, why not? If this hobgoblin was going to take him down better he die with a smile on his face. And he was going to make sure, just like in the advice he gave JJ, that this hobber would never forget him.

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

JJ sends a couple of good blade attacks at the bugbear, the first one just finding an opening in the armor for less than an inch. But the skin of the bugbear seems also quite tough and the deflected blade arrives too wake to pierce through.

Ryan and Kikinnin make their best to keep the fight against Kazhun as well, but both mace and axe find the armor frustratingly impregnable.

While Maxim fails to drag Marigold out of the danger, Ruben connects another hit on the hobgoblin's belly, finishing him off and finally freeing the southern flank.

The effects of Ruben's heroic inspiration come to an end.

The dwarven woman, now free of the shackles, moves towards the cowering halfling, keys at hand.

As Maxim attempts to bodily pull her backwards Marigold instinctively resists being moved, having not expected the dwarf to grab hold of her. But now that she can clearly see the frustration on his face, it occurs to her that he wants or needs her to move. That and the swing of the hoboblin's sword that passes over her head is all the incentive she needs. With a squeak of fear, she withdraws from the melee just as Ruben finishes the creature off.

"માફ કરશો, માફ કરશો!"

Abyssal:

"Sorry, sorry!"

Withdrawing from combat; moving the full 20 feet back.

Round 15

With things quiet on the southern front for the moment, Marigold moves back further so she can see what's happening around the corner. She gapes with amazement to see that the enormous creature is still standing despite having JJ, Ryan, and Kikinnin surrounding it. Knowing she needs to leave room open for Ruben to move in if need be, she hangs back and reaches out to offer a small bit of guidance to the clearly-frustrated Kikinnin.

Move to current position; casting Guidance on Kikinnin. Is Marigold in range of the two sleeping enemies? If so, she might just decide to get stab-happy next round...

Round 15

As Marigold breaks from the combat, after resisting Maxim's attempt to shift her, the gun-mage scowls;

From the goddamn sublime to the ridiculous... Little Miss is impossible to work out...

Ruben then drops the last foe allowing their southern most front to be freed up.

Maxim moves to his shoulder, patting him on the back as he does;

"Nice work LaChance..."

He nods his head toward the door;

"If memory serves that should be the dining room beyond... then through the throne room and we'll be round on the flank of that din..."

Flashing a hard smile, the gun-mage gestures back toward the grande-melee still raging as he walks onward:

"Care for a stroll?"

Seeing the multiple wounds of JJ, Ryan raises his holy symbol and channels positive energy, healing him and creating a sacred protection about those fighting against the ruthless Kazhun.

Failing to reach the creature's head, Kikinnin smashes his axe against the plate's leg.

Marigold finally retreats moving closer to the ones fighting with the bugbear. She cannot reach the sleeping hobgoblins, as they are next to JJ.

Maxim moves closer to the throne door.

Maxim:
You can hear some voices discussing, but cannot see anyone without opening the doors. All of a sudden you listen the wailing of one little girl and the challenging shout of a boy "Take me instead pork!"

Wounded and tired, JJ's attack are easily deflected by the armor without opening a breach.

Turning her attention back to JJ, she taps him with the healing wand. "G-gonna have to b-buy another at this rate..." she murmurs quietly. "Y-you all n-need to b-be more careful! Always r-running r-right into everything's arms..."

As Ryan works to drag the bodies to a less-conspicuous spot, the halfling suddenly remembers the freed slaves and turns to look at them. "A-are any of you hurt? Oh! You, you took a nasty w-wound!" she gasps as she sets her eyes on her fellow halfling. She holds up the wand. "M-may I?"

Picking up two of the alchemist flask in one hand and tossing the remaining flask to Marigold.

"Yes, please do, arm yourselves best ye can, don't think your previous captors will take kindly to our setting you loose." Ryan answers Marigold before heading off to catch up with Maxim and Ruben in the next room, having glanced at their handy work in the southern doorway.

Catching up to the others
Once Ryan is appraised of the situation, he holds out 1 of the flask to Maxim. "I'm ready when you are however outside of minor magics I have little to offer in the way of divine favors, haven't had time for proper absolution with our quick turnaround. 2 spells above and 2 here have drained the well so to speak." 2 channels and 3 inspiring word will tap me out

Kikinnin looks down on Kazhun, then reaches down, and grabs a single ankle, dragging the bugbear around the corner, nearer the forge. He kneels, and begins removing the armor from the beast. With each piece of the full plate, the black-beard stands and places it on the table, before returning to the rest of the suit.

When Kazhun no longer desecrates the armor by wearing it, Kikinnin locates one of the shortspears. Setting down his shield, he brings his axe down on the bugbear's neck, separating it in one stroke. Yeah, now I can take his head off. Can't hit a moving target. He retrieves it after its slow roll away from the body, then assembles a makeshift macabre battle standard by piking the head through its foramen magnum. He sets it aside, then tries half-heartedly to remove the blood from the full plate. Initially, he hesitates, debating on leaving the blood, or not. He manages a quick go-over, before turning back to the others. The coat of arms remains obscured for now.

He looks wordlessly to Maxim, as he starts to remove the half plate.
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 minutes, half the time with Brodir...

He then dons the full plate. 4 minutes, requiring help

Maxim:

"Brodir, if Mor and Far are dead..." He can't finish the thought.

When he's finished, he slings his shield on his back, grasping his axe in one hand, the Head of Kazhun in the other.

He moves deliberately, sweeping the kitchen and the larder, making sure to wait for the others before giving into the growing recklessness behind his eyes. Any hobs or gobs he spies, he waves Kazhun in their direction, and taps his axe on the stone floor.

"My thanks Marigold. " says JJ, who is feeling a lot better already.

"Hopefully that is all of them... for a moment there I was wondering..."

He shudders. "Two close calls with death in one day... at least one too many."

Ruben rejoins the others and, when he sees Kikinnin wearing the bloody armor of their fallen enemy and carrying the head of the hobgoblin grimaces.

That's a nice look. Matches your sunny disposition and the severed head really accentuates your cheekbones.

It is said in dark jest though and he claps the dwarf on the shoulder.

They won't mess with you now mate, not after they see what you done to their master.
