That seems very reasonable. For our sanity, you should also rule that the howler will be too scared of anything willing to fight it, to make your battle easier. That, also, seems very reasonable...

Access to electronics is going to be restricted until Sunday for me. Please feel free to GMPC should my attempts to sneak on prove too spotty.

I was thinking that in the forge they might use wax to make shapes, but if there is none obvious then he won't waste time.
Ok, I have been looking at it in the internet and it seems a common treatment to finish the metal is using wax so I will approve there is wax in the forge. This will provide a +2 circumstance bonus on saves against effects that require hearing but also cause a –5 penalty on hearing-based Perception checks.
Also note you are really pushing the 3 min invisibility to the limit. Any other delay will have a 90% chance the spell time runs out.
I was waiting for someone to take the lead and opening the doors and the aggressions, but if you prefer I can kind of DMPC that first round following the plan I have reconstructed for you in gameplay.

Ryans actions post in gameplay by you are correct; with the fight above in Jazridune and then coming below without rest his 4 spells of group worth are gone at this point and he's back to being a fighter for the most part.
However he is wanting to step in and get his shot on the buyer before someone moves within melee range, if possible.

Getting great reviews Ruben - let me know what you reckon - I'm an old school Marvel zombie so looking forward to something more cerebral after the dire Avengers efforts.
I am for having everything packed in Gameplay, so if someone reads the campaign she can follow what has been happening. Yes, I prefer you write your actions there. For transparency I also prefer you reroll.
Ruben@ thanks to let us know. I will also have a busy afternoon and tomorrow afternoon-evening.

Hey guys, as a heads-up I'll be working night shift for the next three nights (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) so my posting may be a bit sporadic. Cruddy timing considering we're entering what will likely be an epic fight but I'll do my best to keep up with my combat rounds.
About invisibility, I am inclined to think this use of grease breaks the invisibility as it is an attack. I am inclined to this interpretation because it requires a direct save by the foe and also the invis spell says "Actions directed at unattended objects do not break the spell".
Coating the ground where no one is standing for example, yes, in that case I think it would never break invis.
I will give some extra time to see if Kikinnin returns as he said he will be available from Sunday on

Guys, Kazmojen must have an AC of 21 or 22 or so. That means I only have at best a 25% chance to hit him and that is going to drop to 20% when inspire runs out.
That doesn't even take into account his regeneration.
I think the smart play is going to be to get the kids and escape because I don't think we will take Kaz and Prickles in a fight.
GM, am I able to free him either by attacking his shackles or through disable device?
Manacles have hardness 10 and 10 hit points, so lets treat this similarly. The time needed for disable device is a full-round action, and I think it provokes AoO, and another move action to retrieve the thieve tools.

Yeah this could turn quickly into a slog fest with an unhealthy ending for some. A good night's rest would put us in a better position, but the children should be an immediate priority. At least the ones in this room.

I'm with Ruben on this one; Marigold doesn't have many options besides the healing wand and aiding the others. Try to do what we can and retreat with the children?

Spike obeys whoever holds the Urgosh, right? Might help if we can snag it before we retreat but no, it's not top priority.
I am sorry folks. I do not like NPCs taking the spot of PC, but the half-elves were to be presented on this chapter. They were tracking you time ago and to be presented at a time the party was having difficulties but there have not been those many and they lost track of you when you first entered the ruins.

No need to apologize, GM Rutseg. You bring the flavor you want, we'll appreciate what's set on the dinner table.
They were added to the Anniversary edition. They appear in just a few spots but I think they are an interesting addition and can play as active role in the campaign as you wish them to. Once the fight is finished you will learn more about whom they are and what they do here.
About Kikinnins health, yep, I initially thought Kazmojen had scored, then remembered about his +4 AC against giants and changed the text but not the status.
Kazmojen is a terrible foe, and there is one weirdness about him, he is less dangerous with the urgrosh than with his natural weapons.

but of course, we wouldn't want it any other way, might think we were skating throough! jk :)
In all seriousness, thanks for the help as Ryan is obviously way behind in dicebot sacrifices/prayer. Singles digits are not helping anyone, and definitly not pulling my load in the melee arena

We just need to drag him to the forge if we can't bring fire to him. That coup de grace should keep him down for a few rounds, fingers crossed that is long enough to get some coals into him.

My missus got the same surgery earlier this year - made a world of difference. Stings a bit for a wee while, but all good. Here's a similarly speedy recovery.
On a separate note my home interwebbage is on the fritz again, so if I go quiet over the weekend you'll know why :)
