Just moving along as I wasn't sure what you would do so I had you cast Daze unless you have another action?

Ēoswulf continues his futile assault.
1 hit point left, and only 3 rounds of rage. Hope one of y'all have a plan.

"Someone must heal Eoswulf! Withdraw Eosulf! WITHDRAW!!!", yells Maximos as he runs up, waving his hands and uttering magical nonsense....

Bold is up.
Here we go Will save VS Color Spray 1d20 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 2 - 2 = 21
Those are truly horrible rolls Ēoswulf
Maximos Rushes up and kicks sand into Sir Illivan eyes which transforms into chaotic mess of colors that stuns the Crazed Knight.
Lem rushes up and attempts to heal Ēoswulf but finds himself falling short! He still sings though and with wand in hand makes it clear what his intention is!
Ēoswulf on the other hand despite Lem's singing, finds his blows ineffective.

Round 4
Ēoswulf
Bold is up.
Botting in progress
Hinkle fires off another bolt of acid!
Acid 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 3 - 4 = 101d6 ⇒ 4
It splashes off Sir Illivan's armor leaving an unslightly blemish on it...just like the expression on his face.
Sir Illivan stands there stunned.
I originally saw the save failed on preview previously. So I'm leaving it as that.
Ēoswulf swings his blade like a maniac! Seeking to drive Sir Illivan away to give himself some breathing room.
longsword, attack, raging, power attack, TWF, inspired 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 2 - 1 + 2 + 1 = 261d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 16
armor spikes, raging, power attack, TWF, inspired 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 1 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 - 1 - 2 + 1 = 251d6 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 5
Those blows slam hard into the crazy knight and it does draw blood and his respect.....

Maximos whips out a scroll, and waits for Sir Illivan to become undazed to cast his spell.

Bold is up.
Will Save vs DC 16 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 2 = 14
Maximos pulls out his strolls and incanting the words on it gives him some results as Sir Illivan is stunned by the colors that assault his vision!
Could this be the chance the pathfinders are looking for?

![]() |

So I'm still not up yet? He has been stunned for two rounds, so I'm hoping that means I get two rounds worth of attacks against him. But that's not what I'm seeing in your posts, where I haven't had a chance to act since before he was first stunned.

Round 4
Ēoswulf
I botted you once. So you'd have one more round of attacks.
Bold is up.

![]() |

ah, I see now you botted me. I *don't* see where I was up before that to know I should have posted. I guess it was while I was at the conference.
Ēoswulf attacks again, hoping desperately to take Sir Illivan down. Next round is the last round of rage!
longsword, attack, raging, power attack, TWF, inspired: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 2 - 1 + 2 + 1 = 25 for 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 10

Round 5
Ēoswulf
You're right. I didn't.
Bold is up.
Ēoswulf fare better this time as his blows strike through once!
Sir Illivan is turning livid in rage!
Lem takes advantage and tries to distract Sir Illivan fully knowing the consequences if he fails this time.
"Your sire would have being dire for crier such as you...."
Will Save 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 - 1 = 23
His spell fails as the angry Sir Illivan now glares at a new focus for his Rage.
With a mighty roar, Sir Illivan draws his lance this time as he charges!
Ignoring an almost Half dead Ēoswulf.
Draws AOO from Ēoswulf and Maximos.
Charges Lem 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 15 + 2 = 223d8 + 12 ⇒ (7, 8, 7) + 12 = 34
The lance rips into the brave Gnome leaving in on the doorstep of death!

![]() |

Ēoswulf charges after Sir Illivan and slashes at him with his longsword.
Finally! Someone to flank with! I'm assuming Lem is somehow armed...
longsword, attack, raging, power attack, TWF, inspired, charge, flanking, sneak attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 2 - 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 22 for slashing, cold iron: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 + (5) = 19

![]() |

Round 4 he was stunned by color spray, Round 5 he was stunned by color spray... it's now top of round 6 right... so he should be stunned until Maximos goes again? I was wrong last time I questioned, really, just want to understand! :)
And doing the only thing he can, Max five foot steps, draws another scroll and attempts to stun him again! Color Spray DC 16

Let's see. By right Round 4 he shouldn't have being stunned but I passed it off as stunned. My mistake there.
Round 5 You readied so I should be shifting your init. My bad.
Ignore Lem's damage then.
I'll just retake his action when he's done again.
Also If they're lvl1 scrolls how are their DCs 16?
Aren't they supposed to be lower?
Action held for now.

![]() |

Level 1, you're right DC is lower... DC 12? ... so, first was not a scroll, the second was... so the attack on Lem would have happened... third is also DC 12

Once again Maximos blows colors towards Sir Illivan who looks close to finishing Lem....
Will save 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 - 1 = 4 Yep that got him.
This time he's stunned once more!
His lance drops to the hard ground.
It's up to Ēoswulf to deal the finishing blow perhaps?
His charging attacks backed up by Lem slams in hard against Sir Illivan!
He maybe mad but he's tough and he's still up !

![]() |

I am not up right now, correct? And one of y'all is staying in flanking position, right?

![]() |

also, I do have the Merchant's Wake, but I apparently don't have the chronicle handy for Ēoswulf.

![]() |
Yep I'm missing the Chronicle sheet. and Lem will flank for you! lol
I think Sir Illivan is a little empty handed atm....

Hideous Laughter Will Save 1d20 + 2 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 - 1 = 10
"Take him now..." he begs as blood pools beneath his feet.

Ēoswulf lays into Sir Illivan with sword and spikes, but he is slower now; sluggish.
no more rage...

Last legs come on...
It is obvious from Ēoswulf's last blow that Sir Illivan is on his last legs as well and being weaponless, it might make him easier to handle but everyone is aware that the man is dangerous and insane..........
It might take more then they think.

![]() |
His weapons are Lance, Longsword and Long bow.
He has dropped Longsword and Lance.

![]() |
Ermmm you mean longbow? He has no weapons in hand.....at all.

![]() |

I'm guessing he wants to make it harder for the man to stand up. If we can make him prone, that might be even better.

Ēoswulf

Right oh!

With a loud clang followed by a cry so filled with fustration and despair, it rends one's heart. Sir Illivan falss from his mount in an undignified heap on the ground.
Weaponless, prone and still unable to control the giggles erupting from him, Sir Illivan looks a sorry sight.

![]() |

His weariness now turning to sorrow as he pities the mighty warrior, Ēoswulf strikes at Sir Illivan again.
longsword, attack, fatigued, power attack, TWF, inspired, flanking, sneak attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 - 1 - 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 - 1 - 1 - 2 + 1 + 2 = 19 for slashing, cold iron: 1d8 + 4 - 1 + 2 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 1 + 2 + 1 + (1) = 10
If that knocks Sir Illivan out, Ēoswulf will pass on the next attack, encouraging the team to heal Sir Illivan once he can be restrained
armor spikes, attack, fatigued, power attack, TWF, inspired, flanking, sneak attack: 1d20 + 6 - 1 - 1 - 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 6 - 1 - 1 - 2 + 1 + 2 = 16 for piercing: 1d6 + 2 - 1 + 1 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 2 - 1 + 1 + 1 + (4) = 12
"Surrender before it is too late!"

![]() |
Ēoswulf's Blow finally downs the Crazed Knight.
The party takes some time to take in the fact that Sir Illivan isn't doing anything else.
"I guess it's over?" Lem pants as he falls onto his butt aching as his wounds begin to remind him that he was just an inch away from death.
"I'm guessing we should heal up? I know I could do with some?" as he faints dead away as the realisation of how close to death he came to hits him.
I'll wait for all of you to heal up and declare what you wish to do? Good fight everybody!

![]() |

Ēoswulf quickly binds the Knight with some rope. "Let's heal him before he's gone; maybe a cleric of Sarenrae can help him."

![]() |

Max puts his hands on his, leaned over and panting. We can't take much more of this... I'm nearly spent.
He then walks over to Lem, handing him his wand (does Lem have one? Should use that up first), to pop a heal on Eoswuf, and heal up the bard as well.

Away on a short conference. Once back will post up the ending and chronicle sheets.

![]() |
The Fight with Sir Illivan has cost the party valuable time. With Lem helping to expend what ever resources he has left, the party hurries to the aid of the soldiers but they are too late.
They have being slaughteres and left out in the open to be swarmed by dangerous beasts and carrion seekers.
With no other choice, the party turns back and return to Nerosyan.
After another hour of trekking through the transformed landscape, they find the River Road again and complete the rest of their journey in peace.
Upon returning to Nerosyan, Venture-Captain Jorsal and a representative of the Mendevian military ask the group to give a full report as Sir Illivan is taken into custody.

![]() |

A shy little halfling pokes her head into the room. "Is this where a team of Pathfinders is getting together?" Her melodious voice suggests professional training, and her happy countenance suggests many happy experiences.

![]() |

"Yes indeed this is the right place!" Fillia chirps up, interested in the newcomer.
The lithe Ranger vaults down from the rafters with obvious practice...........at barely slipping and landing hard on her behind.

![]() |

Lifting his head from a book a little gnome looks at the new members, he squeaks, "Ah, hello newcomers! Good to make your acquaintance! Hmmm...", the gnome is muttering, numbers and calculations, fingers waving in the air, "... only a... hmmm... 1 in 14... yes, 1 in 14 odds you'll be around in a month... but, good to meet you none-the-less!"

![]() |

"Maximos!" Fillia looks scandalised.
"We'll always be around...what do you mean 1 in 14...." she appears flustered as she attempts to make sure the newcomers don't leave.....

You've been ordered to meet at Starrise Spire in Nerosyan, Mendev. After waiting a few minutes and chatting amongst yourselves, Venture Captain Jorsal of Lauterbury strides into the room, his stoic features showing signs of exhaustion. He places a piece of paper on the table and addresses you.
"An anonymous source sent us this note regarding a Sarkorian site in rural Mendev, near Dawnton. We sent a trio of Pathfinders to investigate. Since arriving in Dawnton, they have been arrested for murder there and are scheduled to be hung in seven days. I want you to go down there, investigate the situation, and clear their names if possible." He sighs, clenches his jaw, and blinks a few times.
"If the evidence you find implicates them..." He clenches his jaw again, "If they are guilty, let them hang. It is a kind of justice; after all, we are guests in Mendev and subject to its laws." He shakes his head before continuing.
"Needless to say, with three Pathfinders convicted of murder, we don't have a great reputation in this town. I recommend you keep your affiliation private. Be careful. Our comrades are counting on you."
"Pack your things tonight. I'd like you to head out in the morning. I can provide mounts to any of you that lack them. And you will need them; it is a three day trip by horse, and the execution is in seven days."

Ask any questions, buy any gear, then we'll be on our way.

Know Local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Meran tries to recall what she knows about Dawntown, "Dawnton is a small village at the crossroads of the local trade highway and the Setian River. It has a small permanent population. Like many villages at the crossroads of trade highways it swells to many times its size on festival days and during the harvest. I wonder if there's a current harvest or an upcoming festival we can use to enter the town."
She sits up and begins to ask questions, "Can you tell me about the Pathfinders who have been arrested? Do you know them personally? What was the mission they were supposed to be doing?"

![]() |

"Mmmmm... Pathfinders die... Pathfinders move on... 1 in 14.... yes, I'm sure that is correct."
After listening to the venture captain.
"Yes, yes... three Pathfinders to be hung. See... Pathfinder's die... I may need to recalculate, lets, see... "
"Yes, great questions Meran Thanlos.", after thinking some, "And do you have any details on the murder? Who did they murder? do you know the circumstances? Was it related to their mission?
