The emerald was sold by Karthan

From old loot Jorzan still has one Orc Bane Kurki

The short swords he obviously still has and are on his sheet.

He never did, and will not, request the axe back from Justahl. The other one went into his haversack (leaving loot behind is against his religion). I could imagine Hurin getting good use out of one of both of those axes. Good luck getting Jorzan to give it to him at present though, haha ; )

I forget what Aylaeth did with the sword, but she wouldn't have just dropped it, as she has one of those oh-so-handy haversacks as well (How does any adventurer leave home without one??)

Servais Sword

Just reposting this one again with the whole set. Mine

Alright so there's everything. I'm sure Maiathreen will be redrawn as my skills as an artist increase. But Servais Unbound, which is done by my wife Cyra (aka Livain) just looks Bad@ss :)

Nice link, Justahl! I LOL'd at "...just a fighter with good PR."

Jorzan, do you need to sleep or do you have an anti-sleep thing of some sort? I ask because I think you said you're going to Pyotr's, but it's currently like 4:30 AM and you haven't slept.

Also, are you indeed gonna meet Van-Haera for afternoon tea, as she proposed?

Male Dwarf Fighter 7/Barbarian 2 AC29 HP128 F+14 W+6 R+6 Perception +14

DM DRA, As mentioned in Hurin's discussion with the Dragon, he isn't going to ask for anything specific as payment, but would accept anything freely given. He will request basic provisions.

He will take some mundane weapons and arrows and food and some clothes. He has quite a few enginnering tools he bought with his opening cash.

If the Librarian asks about things he could use,
He doens't have any healing items

A bag of holding is always nice.

I wrote in my backgroud story that The Axe of Thanes is an ancient weapon that had many of its properties suppressed, Since a Dwarven Waraxe is pretty rare, maybe the Libririan can unlock some of its powers?

Items that boost ability scores always welcome.

IF there is an armory with some dwarven items he would probably like to look at that if offered a chance.

Hurin breaks shields sometimes so a spare +1 shield would be good for a back up.

When I created him I was wanting to buy Mithril armor for him, but it was over the individual item cost, if he could trade and upgrade that would be cool.

I am not sure if you were looking for a list like that, but I thought I should put that in.

Did the dragon respond in anyway that she would like a written oath or would try to get word to the Torkrest Elders about what Hurin was going to undertake?

My character sheet should be completely updated too, by the way.

Male Human Rogue(Poisoner) 5/ Shadowdancer 6| AC23 T17 F18; HP 88/88, CMD 22, F/R/W 6/14/7, Percep +20 Drkvsn 60', Init +6

Didn't realize it was that late, Pytor's wouldn't even be open would it? How long hav we been gone? Would rent still be paid on Jorzan's place? If not, he'll head to some comfortable (but easily exitable) inn he knows and crash for a few hours. He'll head to Pytor's for breakfast and Klah and then meet Van-Heara for tea.

@Jorzan: I made a couple references to the fact that dawn was not far off, but I haven't mentioned the time yet until now. You've all been gone a few weeks, so whether or not your place is still there I'll leave up to you, doesn't bother me either way.

As for Zan, I'm fine with you being able to call/dismiss him as a standard/free action, but let's link it to an attribute, somewhat like Justahl's summoning of Nouhves. So maybe you can summon him a number of times per day equal to your INT bonus.

@Hurin: Van-Haera, though very powerful, is still just a librarian, not a battle mage or anything like that, so unlocking weapon powers and getting armor and all that is not stuff she can do. I already have plot lines written around your axe so fun stuff will be happening with that soon enough. :-)

As for armor, you could certainly try to trade up; what kinds of items would you trade? I mean besides your current armor, obviously.

Everyone will get a couple healing potions, for sure. Probably another wand of CLW or CMW for the group to share, too.

Male Dwarf Fighter 7/Barbarian 2 AC29 HP128 F+14 W+6 R+6 Perception +14

ok cool, the only thing i have to trade that isnt too important to the dwarf would be the cloak of resistance and the armor. So i am fine.

Male Dwarf Fighter 7/Barbarian 2 AC29 HP128 F+14 W+6 R+6 Perception +14

Dang sentimental dwarf lol! if he had spare time he would look at dwarf artifacts, books on engineering of The Wall, etc. He would also make sure Cassandra had warm clothes.

Sir Justahl will ask about a couple of potions of healing, enlarge person and lesser restoration.
He will also see about obtaining a handy haversack, and see what it would take to either purchase or commission Nouhves some barding of mithril chain.

LOL! Wow, everyone took the day off all at once.

I've noted everyone's equipment wants and will deal with those just before you leave.

In the meantime, I think everything is hinging on replies from various folks, at the moment. If it stays quiet through tomorrow then I'll just push on ahead.

Nasmarra didn't get any answer from her research. I'd like to have her interact with somebody (probably Astar), but I'm waiting on the results from that.

Ah! Thanks for the reminder. I thought I was forgetting something.

Male Dwarf Fighter 7/Barbarian 2 AC29 HP128 F+14 W+6 R+6 Perception +14

Yeah I am here too just waiting for something to happen. Hurin hasn't met the ghost yet and I have no idea what she is or who she is other than I had just seen a lady with milky eyes in the quad

Male Dwarf Fighter 7/Barbarian 2 AC29 HP128 F+14 W+6 R+6 Perception +14

Actually DRA what does Hurin learn about the wall and it's engineering?
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 Well i am guessing not much?

Male Human Fighter (Lore Warden) 8 / Wizard (Scroll Scholar) 1

Had a sliver of time to get some posts in, and then couldn't connect to the server all day. (And then when I do, it deletes my brief post~)

Anyways, I'll get back to it in full force tomorrow or the next day. To be clear, Astar doesn't need or want anything. Even if he's relatively unoptimized or undergeared, he'll continue to be fun. And even if he gets his spine bashed in, it'll only give him an in-character motivation to go out of his way to snag shiny things later.

If needed, go ahead and continue revving up the adventuring, since Astar won't be doing anything mechanically important in his prep time (beyond, say, sleeping).

If someone (Nasmarra!) wants to bother him about things, just assume he's at his dorm room.

Male Human Fighter 8, Ranger 3

Yeah, had a bit of trouble accessing the site today. Plus, I've got an assignment due tomorrow, so that's a distraction.

Anyway, gear. We've got a bit of cash in the kitty, with perhaps a bit more if we sell some of the stuff recovered from the pit (though anything with infernal runes or the like should probably be left in safe hands). So if anyone has any suggestions for items they think will benefit the group, now's the time. Perhaps a portable hole, if we want some serious carrying capacity, or a staff of some kind. Just as long as we keep enough to replace our lost mounts and cover any incidental expenses.

Hurin Sundershield SonOfHelgrud wrote:

1d20+6 Well i am guessing not much?

Hurin wouldn't know anything about the wall anyway; would require a K(Religion) check. The Wall is a sacred gorumite citadel. Very few non-gorumites visit it, and most that do, do not come back. What little knowledge there is about the thing is mostly locked away in secret collections in old libraries, and essentially nothing is known about its construction.

Male Dwarf Fighter 7/Barbarian 2 AC29 HP128 F+14 W+6 R+6 Perception +14

Copy that.

I had trouble getting on the site yesterday too. I am traveling the next two weeks but I will be playing by IPhone when I have coverage. There are only three or four days I may not be having cell phone connection, but I should be able to log in everyday. If my entires are clipped in length pleas know it is not because I am blowing it off.

Gracias Hurin, glad you enjoyed it mate.

Some great posts for Lin there Corerue. Sorry not much interaction with Tora'an, but he's a quiet sort anyway.

I understand that you/Lin are feeling impatient to do something, but I can't help feeling that the dragoness might be being a wee bit hasty. We still haven't finished playing out the 15+ hours of research in the Mariansu thread and it seems clear that the Stormfare thread is a bit ahead time-wise now. So, while it may seem like a long wait to us, in real time, might not actually be that long of a wait before the Skyknights are back in game time. They may even be back before nightfall when the Seer's crew takes off.

My concern is this. Let's say Lin takes off. And then then the Skyknights get back to Stormfare, and say Lin is already too far away for the Link to function. That could then easily lead to a prolonged period of Lin and her Rider being in two different places. How then to find each other?

And the Skyknights can't very well be SKYknights if they have no access to the sky, especially when Lin is responsible for carrying two of them. So my advice would be for the mounts to just be patient a while longer, and bide their time, at least until the timelines of the two games match up. If it becomes clear that the Skynights won't be making it back to Stormfare anytime soon, well, then we can decide what to do then. As it stands now though, they've only been gone perhaps half a day. I think it would be prudent to wait at least a little longer than that before taking off on a mission halfway across the continent, no? Perhaps the mounts can find something else important to do that keeps them close to Stormfare for a while? Anyway, them's my two coppers.

Oh, also, just a wee side note. If Lin just changed from Large to Huge, would her saddle bags even still fit? She'd likely have to get them re-sized, no?

Huge Female Silver Dragon 9 HP 79/79 DR 5/magic AC-28, T-12, Flat-26, F+9, R+8, W+8 Init +2; Senses: Darkvision (120 feet), Low-Light Vision, Scent; Per +13

Probably not on the saddle/bags thing lol, I need magical ones eventually~

Also the link has no range at level 2 the dragonrider and their bonded both know direction, condition and health of each other so long as they are on the same plane of existence. No range is mentioned. That's why in Izmir when Lin was at the Eyrie and Min was at the library hundreds of feet away. Min was able to point right in her direction.

It's like the bodyguard bond for the mages in Wheel of time. :)

Well, hundreds feet is a wee bit different than (potentially) hundreds of leagues. But I didn't realize there was no distance limit whatsoever, that's pretty sweet.

But so DRA told you that Lin and Min can't sense each other at all? Guess I missed that (unless it was spoilered?)

Male Dwarf Fighter 7/Barbarian 2 AC29 HP128 F+14 W+6 R+6 Perception +14

Lin, Hurin was talking to you again. I guess he needs to speak louder ;)

Heh, yeah I wonder how tasty a dwarf is? Maybe I need that spell shout, unless that is a 3.5 edition spell.

I'll catch this thread up tomorrow, had a lot to do over in the other two games tonight, plus a mountain of mixing and producing waiting for me.

Male Human Rogue(Poisoner) 5/ Shadowdancer 6| AC23 T17 F18; HP 88/88, CMD 22, F/R/W 6/14/7, Percep +20 Drkvsn 60', Init +6

Oh ya that's right! Kelne's old girlfriend/flame is still out there vamping around! Pretty cold of him to talk about "hunting her down" like that though. Where's the humanity Kelne? Where's the pathos?? Lol

But nice summantion of what we've been through and what we've got ahead though

@Hurin: Would our new Dwarven companion even know who Bal-zat is? He's heard the name bandied about a lot lately, but would that mean anything to him? Also, since Kelne's 'ex' has free reign of Olervsky (Dwarven town) there's a good chance Hurin's seen or run into her, no?

Male Dwarf Fighter 7/Barbarian 2 AC29 HP128 F+14 W+6 R+6 Perception +14

Hurin knows Balzat was an arch wizard and was hunted down by the paladins, plus all the interesting stuff that has been reported and divulged through overheard rantings and discussions. I make a knowledge check a lot of posts ago on it.

As far as the vampiress I am not sure Hurin would have noted her, but probably would have seen her if she had spent much time in town. If I saw her again I might say, hey! I know you! I guess DRA will let us know.

@Lin: Just FYI, with a fly speed of 150 you could actually make if from Stormfare to Lesotho in about 15-16 days, depending on weather and any "encounters" along the way.

Any answer or thoughts on Tora'an's PM DRA?

Huge Female Silver Dragon 9 HP 79/79 DR 5/magic AC-28, T-12, Flat-26, F+9, R+8, W+8 Init +2; Senses: Darkvision (120 feet), Low-Light Vision, Scent; Per +13

@DRA: yeah I saw that, I was thinking for somereason the Lestho was closer. But then I remembered it was past Haelith and was like 'oh.... Right. S*#$.' Lol

But at least she could make it within a month, maybe. Round trip would be a month which I'm sure the Skyknights will be back by then. But we will see.

Just remember, a month is a VERY long time in this game. The Seers gang's entire journey has only been 3-4 weeks so far. So if Lin goes off on the trip by herself (or manages to convince Tora'an to go along) basically she and Min might possibly be separated for another year of PbPing, real time. Just sayin'.

Male Dwarf Fighter 7/Barbarian 2 AC29 HP128 F+14 W+6 R+6 Perception +14

@DRA heh I love the visual of the warbanians having tea. I am picturing two Conan the barbarians sitting at a little kids table with their knees up by their ears and their little fingers crooked with their lips pursed drinking imaginary tea. Heh heh.

Hahaa, yup! That's pretty much exactly it.

Okay, here's the treasure that Kelne and Jorzan found underground. Jorzan, if there are any of these things that you want to ask Van-Haera further questions about, go ahead. I just didn't feel like doing a long explanatory post. Easier to just post the list here:

-four magic wands -
1. Wand of Illusory Wall (4th level Sorc/Wiz, Core, CL7) - between half and full charge
2. Wand of Aura of Doom (4th level Cleric, UM, CL7) - between half and empty charge
3. Wand of Obscure Object (2nd level Sorc/Wiz, Core, CL4) - between half and empty charge
4. Wand of Rain of Frogs (3rd level Sorc/Wiz, UM, CL6) - between half and empty charge
-a magic rod, - Lesser Rod of Metamagic-Empower
-a scroll case with some kind of involved essay or story on it in a language neither of you recognizes immediately - The essay/story appears to be written in a double-ciphered version of Abyssal, and is a description of the items required in a ritual to bring back Bal-Zat. It is unclear who the author is.
-two scroll cases with some kind of actual magic scroll in them,
1. Scroll of Acid Splash (0th level Sorc/Wiz, Core), CL1
2. Scroll of Fire Breath, (2nd level Sorc/Wiz, APG), CL3
-two composite longbows that appear to be both magically enhanced and strength-rated,
1. +2STR/+1/Shock
2. +3STR/+1/Flaming
-14 arrows tipped with strange capsules that are clearly NOT of Enhathladi design,
These arrows appear to have become inert overnight, and are now useless - the mages of the university believe they belonged to a Leukodaemon, and as such could only be utilized by it.
-three magic longswords,
1. +1, Anarchic
2. +1, Shocking Burst
3. +1, Frost, Shock
-a ring with some kind of arcane inscription and a beautiful lapis stone set in the top,
This is a Ring of Water Breathing - as long as the wearer keeps it on, they can breathe normally underwater. The ring does NOT confer any underwater movement bonuses.
-five pairs of manacles, all with magic inscriptions on them and runes in Abyssal,
The runes say "Shadowguards", and the manacles are Manacles of Capture - when used, they function as normal iron manacles, but they also have a magic effect that no one -- not Van-Haera, not Van-Galazzan, not any of the professors -- can figure out how to activate. It seems like the manacles also perform a Dimensional Anchor, Web, and other spells to hold a person against many possible forms of escape, but there is no clue as to how to use them. There are also, it is worth noting, no keys for them.
-a magic glaive with infernal runes on it,
The runes on the glaive say "Drink the blood from the roots of the mountain." The glaive itself is a version of a Life-Drinker:

Core Rulebook wrote:

This +1 [glaive] is favored by undead and constructs, who do not suffer its drawback. A life-drinker bestows two negative levels on its target whenever it deals damage, just as if its target had been struck by an undead creature. One day after being struck, subjects must make a DC 16 Fortitude save for each negative level or the negative levels become permanent.

Each time a life-drinker deals damage to a foe, it also bestows one negative level on the wielder. Any negative levels gained by the wielder in this fashion lasts for 1 hour.

-an amulet which may or may not be magic but it sure looks fancy -

This is an Amulet of Disguise - at will the user may activate it by touching it, at which point it acts exactly as the spell Disguise Self. Activating/deactivating are both standard actions. DC15
-a disgusting bracelet that appears to be made out of preserved human fingers with runes burned into the flesh,
This is identified as a relic from the limb farms of the Grindylow. No one here speaks the language fluently enough to translate it, but its presence in the city is horrifying and alarming in equal parts.
-and a silvery bracelet with arcane characters and religious symbols on it.
The religious symbols on this bracelet belong to Norgorber. This is a Bracelet of Greater Invisibility, functioning just like the spell and usable once per day. CL7
-Lastly, you find a half-dozen coin purses with about 12,000gp worth of precious gems and coins. - exact treasure total is 12,307gp
