Veoden looks about. and upon seeing the group makes his way to you.
good, I see you found the site. I have some magic at my disposal that might help if your willing.
he offers the following spells (scrolls): levitate and dimension door.
DM of the coins
"We thought you were not allowed to enter the cemetery..."
Veoden puts a finger to his lips, shhhhhh
Miyaro Pielblanc
She shrugs, "Yes and no. If you try to wield that which you are not powerful enough to wield, you might be successful, be it sword or spell. Or you might injure someone. In time, the spell should be in reach, but I would prefer to only use it in the event of an emergency. I've seen..." She purses her lips, "A friend overstepped her abilities while we were training. She recovered and most wounded was her pride, but it could have been much worse."
DM of the coins
Veoden seems to be hiding nothing
your sense motive checks indicate no deceptions
if your worried about casting the scrolls, I can use them if you wish. what do you want, I am at your disposal
DM of the coins
Veoden looks at the casket oh that, I guess it has something to do with the curse. I really wasn't sure the nature of it. but it would seem that there was a fear that old Walker Dairoo might want to continue walking even after death.
I would suggest that you prepare for an undead attack, just in case.
Felix Tark
Alright, we got Ant Haul and Levitate, right? Should be enough to help get this cask into the contained tomb. Let's clear out the bones from there though. If this guy is some sort of necromancer than I don't want him to have materials to play with when we open the lock.
I think we should be okay to move the casket to the tomb and clear out any dead bodies in there before we arrange ourselves and open it up right? Felix would like a clear shot.
DM of the coins
you should easily get the casket to the tomb. the levitate is good for up to 800 lbs.
will post tomorrow with you opening the casket in the tomb
DM of the coins
You get the coffin inside the tomb after clearing out the bones from the previous encounter.
now all that remains is who will remove the chains and open the coffin?
the coffin was silent the entire move so there was no banging from the inside.
map link is also in the GM alias header
Tatsuo Arashi
Tatsuo sighs in mild exasperation as Veoden shows up with a levitation spell just as he had finished rigging up a harness. He removes it as it's shuffled along to the tomb. "Well, I'm guessing we'll want to surround whatever comes out." As he speaks, he pulls out his holy water and gets his other undead-fighting gear in accessible places. Then he lays one hand on Sora, muttering something under his breath. Lightning arcs down his tattooed forearm and arcs across the small dragon's body until its formed crackling silver armor. Sora roars her challenge to the beast in the box.
Casting mage armor on Sora.
Felix Tark
Felix will cast Weapons Against Evil which will allow up to three weapons to ignore the DR of evil creatures as long as it's 5 or lower. Does anyone else want it?. Also there's Shield of Faith which will give +2 deflection AC, I think someone on the front line should get that.
Delkaneth "Del" Sargan
Once folks appear to be in position and prepared, Delkaneth begins working on the locks. The rattling of the coffin unnerves him a bit, again resulting in it taking longer than it should. Way to impress, moron...
Disable Device: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14 ugh, I'll just take 20.
"Ready?" Once he gets a nod from his companions Delkaneth pulls the lock free of the chains so the coffin can open.........
Miyaro Pielblanc
Miyaro looks around at the others and thinks about her options. She readies her shield and morningstar and moves opposite Conner. I would take a Weapon of Awe if you have one.
DM of the coins
I moved Del so he can work on the lock. Is everyone else where they want to be on the map?
Miyaro Pielblanc
Please place Miyaro in the square adjacent to and above Del.
Just realized I could move her myself. Done. And Conner's moved, too.
Felix wanted a clear shot - perhaps he should take the spot at the foot of the casket where Sora is currently. Also, have we ascertained which side the lid hinges on? The folks on that side will have trouble contributing...
DM of the coins
let me know if you cannot edit the map yourselves. I think you all should have access.
DM of the coins
will move along tomorrow if I can, I will travelling to Florida for a couple days. bringing my computer so the hotel wifi should be available for evening posting (or perhaps late night posting)
Miyaro Pielblanc
Felix: I didn't know if friendly fire was an issue - I don't want you to hit an ally on the opposite side of the coffin by mistake.
Conner: I moved Miyaro so you could have her (better) position. She's at the foot next to Sora now and you should have a chance at hitting whatever is in the coffin, no matter where it is.
Felix Tark
Shouldn't be. Precise Shot removes all penalties for firing into melee and even if you don't have the feat Pathfinder just forces a -4 penalty to attack roll that ensures no allies are hurt. The only issue I need to worry about is soft cover. Of course I'm not sure if the GM is enforcing that rule.
DM of the coins
Del unlocks the coffin locks with relative ease. he slowly opens the coffin and there is a sudden wave of stench the erupts from the coffin as years of trapped decay are suddenly released.
at first there is no movement from the decayed corpse inside.
all need to make a DC 12 Fort save or be for 1d3 ⇒ 2 rounds
Miyaro Pielblanc
Fortitude DC 12: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Miyaro coughs once and her eyes water, but the stench doesn't drive her off.
She readies an action, if the corpse attacks, to assault whatever consciousness it might have. Don't know if it will work, but it's worth a try...
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Delkaneth "Del" Sargan
Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Delkaneth holds his ground as the stench of death washes over him. No worse than Osirion pyramid.....
He also readies his axe to see what the undead creature will do now that it is released.
DM of the coins
A quick look at the corpse, you can see a small journal book clasped in its hands.
Felix Tark
So someone going to take the book?
Felix readies a shot in case the corpse becomes hostile when the book is taken Coordinated Shot Point Blank Shot Musket on Touch: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 161d12 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Tatsuo Arashi
Fort Tatsuo: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Fort Sora: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Tatsuo gags as Sora seems to go a little green on the edges. They give each other a look, surprised that the corpse hasn't moved yet. "Now that the coffin is open, we might want to scan it again. I still don't trust it not to spring alive. Just to be safe, we could try tying it down before grabbing anything." Tatsuo's eyes glow briefly as he scans the creature for magic. Detect magic
Delkaneth "Del" Sargan
"Wait Miya!" Delkaneth hisses just above a whisper. "No reason to open ourselves up to harm like that!"
He closes his eyes and mumbles a quick incantation. Pointing his finger at the book, he looks back up at Miya. "But he knew better than to touch every bauble....."
Mage Hand to pull the book from his grasp.
DM of the coins
As the mage hand grabs the book and gives a tug. the eyes on the corpse pop open. and it "attempts" to get up.
those that had a readied actions may take them now, the creature may not survive that so we shall see.
