attention all if you are at the manor feel free to interact and share any knowledge you may have already learned.
The old woman looks you over. You are young, strong, that is good, this island is cursed. plague, came first, then the disappearances. It all started when Peytro exiled himself in the manor after his fiance vanished on the eve before they were to wed.
she hands you a tiny leather pouch on a string. it smells something awful. take this. she says. It will ward you of the plague
the talisman, when worn, it grants +1 on Fort saves vs. any disease, it will last for 2 weeks before the effect wears off

Tatsuo Arashi |

Tatsuo bowed again to the old lady. "Thank you grandmother. This is most kind of you. May the gods guard you and protect you from this plague."
Tatsuo will probably not specifically look to talk to any of the other people. He's just going to meditate for a few hours. If that time passes and it's still not time for either the will hearing or for food, he'll start exploring the mansion.

Tenebral Sam |

Getting to the Shackles isn't so hard for one with Sam's connections, and he gets the feeling Absalom isn't too sad to see him go. The journey on board the smuggler is incredibly dull, until they come close enough to the Eye of Abendego that the swells make him sick for a couple of days. The days he spends bouncing around Port Peril looking for passage to NeMoren is profitably spent, liberating pirates of their hard won spoils when they fall into a drunken stupor. Of course, by the time he left the pirate city, he had spent at least on various amusements as much as he had stolen.
The small town of Weston looked to be a much different sort of place, and the island seemed to offer little for a young man of his talents. Definitely more comfortable in the city, he thinks, as he strolls down the pier, looking for the half-elf.

Mrimmy the Stargazer |

Mrimmy continues to explore, rounding a corner, she almost walks strait into Mickey. "Oh my! Excuse me!" Her white blonde hair covering one eye, she pushes it aside to show her sparkling eyes, one blue the other green. Arura flitters and lands back on her shoulder. "She is clumsy, no?" The bird twitters in delight as Mrimmy looks at her with an embarrassed frown, lips scrunched to one side.

DM of the coins |

Mrimmy: you noticed that apparently most of the furnishings in the manor are gone. and that presumably includes many of the paintings.
There is however a couple that remain.
painting #1 is of a lovely woman, she has some similarities to the half-elf man that invited you here.
painting #2 depicts a pirate wielding a rather exotic sword. the blade of the sword is engulfed in flames. a closer examination reveals that the pirate only has three fingers on each hand. perhaps a style of the artist?

DM of the coins |

glad to see you are alright. I thought maybe you lost interest in the game already
Look anything you need to discuss with her you can discuss with me Her father tells him rather sternly.
What I have concerns only the bearer of a silver key. my sources have tracked it here. now weather it is you or her I don't care. so the question is simple, do you or don't you have a silver key. the half elf man says.

![]() |

"I have it. Who do you represent? "
Letha positions herself so that she and her father are almost flanking the man.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14. Does the man have intentions to use violence or steal the key ?

Mrimmy the Stargazer |

Mrimmy laughs a nervous laugh and tries to change the subject. "What are you both doing here? Were you sent here, too?" She kept the fact she had a key and apparently was a beneficiary on a will to herself. She couldn't trust people she just ran into... literally. Arura sent calming emotions her way, helping her not be so anxious, but it couldn't make her drop her guard completely.

![]() |

"you could say I lost a bet before you stands what appears to be a tan, well groomed half elf, were it not for the slight metallic shine in his golden blond hair and skin, his eyes are hazel and active, and seem to have a slight glow to them, he wears heavy armor with an embalm for the goddess Desna with the handle of a large sword sticking out of a sheath on his back
do either you or your bird have detect magic up?

DM of the coins |

The half elf turns to face the young girl. Who I represent is of no importance. My employer as simply asked me to find the owner of the Silver key and deliver a message.
He holds out his hand may I see the key, to verify it is what i seek.
under the man's cloak is a small blade possibly a scimitar or cutlass. and he has a slight scent of the sea in his clothing. his hands indicate a man that works on board a ship.

Mrimmy the Stargazer |

Her sparkling eyes widen. "Oh my! I was blessed by the Heavens but I didn't get a halo! How beautiful! Look, Arura! Almost as beautiful as you!" The small, starry bird flies over to the halo, glowing slightly. "Very beautiful. Sir whats your name?" The bird flew down to face level, looking at the man questioningly.

Tenebral Sam |

After waiting around on the docks for a while, Sam strolls into town.
Even a desolate rock like this must have a place to get a drink, he thinks, and stops the first passerby that he sees.
"Do you know a half-elf around these parts by any chance?" he says. "He's got a ... what are they called? A cutlass with some sort of etchings on it. I've come a long way to see him."

DM of the coins |

sucks I had a response Sam but the site went down. now I have to remember everything

DM of the coins |

Sam discovers that most of the town's inhabitants are quiet. they simply shake their head, apparently hoping that you just would go away.
You eventually find a small tavern that is barely occupied. but as you head in that direction you notice an elderly woman chanting and waving around some sort of burning incense.
she points toward a large manor house on a hill at the end of the long road through the town.
Find the bride, lift the curse she says to you

DM of the coins |

the man waves his hand in some arcane gesture. and the key vanishes from you and is in his hand.
he examines the key this is one of the keys. then this is is for you he hands the key back and produces a map case.
you have but a single week to go to the location identified on that map. there you will use that key to claim your inheritance.
he also gives you a pouch with enough coin to pay for the journey.
Thank you for your time I don't care who come to claim the inheritance so long as they possess the key.
the man then turns to leave

DM of the coins |

the man turns around to answer the question the exact location is on the map I provided. it is an island in the Shackles. your inheritance? the entire island and the manor house, as well as lordship of the fishing village that is settled there. as of right now you share this inheritance with five others.
He starts to leave again but stops to add one more piece of information I forgot to mention, failure to arrive on time will result in forfeiture of your share, to me. Of course you could also forfeit now and just give me your key.

DM of the coins |

the key does not work in any door you have found in the manor house.
even though none of the doors are locked.

DM of the coins |

As Sam approaches the Manor. the Half-elf that gave him the info greets him.
Ahh, glad you made it. most of the others are already exploring the manor. we await one more to arrive and the reading of the will will commence.
He shows you to a bedroom and eventually you are introduced to the others.

DM of the coins |

Letha mutters some insults in Infernal under her breath. Then:
"One last thing: What is your name ?"
He stops and turns to face Letha. My name is unimportant, but since you are the first to ask, Adrian Lores, First Mate to the Master of Gales, the executor of the will of the late Paytro NeMoren
And one more thing, I would be careful who you insult, you just don't know who or what is listening.
with that he leaves.
You are free to travel and it is assumed you arrive on time

![]() |

The voyage to the Shackles was uneventful...this time.
Letha isn't sure whether her blood offering to Besmara had anything to do with it. Almost a week later, she stands in front of the manor, and knocks on the front door.

DM of the coins |

on the walk up you notice an old woman witha burning incense stick. she approaches and looks you over waving the insence about you.
the village itself is rather secluded, the villagers keep thier distance (what few there are). many of the homes and businesses are closed and boarded up. several homes appear abandoned.
you may have any interaction here if you wish otherwise she moves on
Adrian opens the door, Welcome, you are the last toa rrive. the others are about the property. come in and I will show you to your room.
He bids you to enter. showing you about the rather spartan manor house. much of the furnishings gone. several rooms empty and what little furniture remains is covered over with cloth. a few rooms looks as though they have been unoccupied for years.
You are shown a bedroom that is also rather bare. containing only the bare essentials for a reasonable amount of comfort.
You are also shown the room where the reading will be held.
please take a little time to introduce yourselves and interact

![]() |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 What is Adrian's current mood. and disposition towards the imminent reading of the will ? (bored, nervous, irritated) Is he hiding something ?

DM of the coins |

He does not respond to the related comment. he seems hopeful about something but he has not said anything to suggest why.
he changes the subject always back to the reading of the will nad keeping business like.
he is more nervous about being on the island than anything else. he avoids the villagers as much as possible

Tenebral Sam |

Sam strolls through the house, keeping an eye peeled for anything that might be of value, though he doesn't touch anything. As he encounters the others, he smiles at them, but says nothing unless they do. The time for introductions will come soon enough, and until then, there's no telling if any of them are here for the same reason he is. Or what that reason may be, for that matter.
It was a sudden impulse that brought him here, but as he made his way, he's had ample time to question the wisdom of his choice.

Tatsuo Arashi |

When summoned, Tatsuo ends his meditation, putting his robe back on and heading towards the designated room. As he walks, he idly tosses and apple up in the air and catches it. When he enters the room, he nods at anybody who chooses to casually greet him. He goes to lean casually against a wall close to one of the windows. He then removes his sugegasa, revealing his gray-blue eyes and a surprisingly young face apparently of East Asian decent. He stops tossing his apple to instead take a bite out of it while watching the other occupants of the room.
He maintains a pleasant neutral expression while he studies his companions. Are all these people distant relatives? Or simply friends of the family perhaps? They don't particularly look like servants of the late baron. Lawyers maybe? Oh well, I suppose I'll find who they are soon enough.
The rest of his physical description was given here.

DM of the coins |

It was several days since the first of you arrived till now when the last arrived.
The morning of the reading of the will was finally here.
sorry for the time warp forward but everyone wants to be the dark mysterious types (well most of you at least) lets hope that changes as time goes on.
You are each escorted by Adrian to a drawing room. this room was locked the entire time you were here and seems to be the only room still lavishly furnished.
Once all are comfortable Adrian opens another door and an elderly man in robes enters the room, he is an aged man with a lean, bronzed frame and leathery skin — the product of a lifetime of hard work under the open sky. The years have not worn away the grizzled captain, but condensed and distilled him, making him tougher, more tenacious, with an unyielding manner and bearing. A wild mane of dark gray hair and a long, flowing beard swirl around his head and shoulders like an imminent storm cloud, and his sweeping, iron-blue gaze feels like stiff icy wind blowing off a roiling ocean.
The old man speaks:
"In my hands, I hold the last will and testament of an old shipmate, Captain Paytro NeMoren, and former lord of this Isle, Lord of this manor house. The good Captain died three years ago, and he left in my care two documents."
"The first was a letter addressed to myself, outlining Capt Nemoren's final request that I locate 6 people, identified only by the silver key they will carry, and to gather them here for a reading of his will; the second document, unopened until today, is the will itself."
"I tell you, it has not been an easy task locating you all, it took us three years, but now we are here finally, together. Now on to the matter at hand."

Tatsuo Arashi |

Tatsuo frowned slightly. "If you've been looking for three years, I'm afraid you must have the wrong person; I only came into possess of this key a few weeks ago."
It's not that Tatsuo wants to be dark and mysterious; it's that he doesn't think he has anything to gain or any real reason to talk to other people. He's also probably still dealing with slight culture shock/getting used to being outside of his village. Also, to be fair, the two people who seem most likely to engage in idle chit-chat haven't responded yet. And Tatsuo's mommy told him never to talk to strangers. ;-P

Mickey Carver |

Mickey stands in the back of the room, preferring not to sit.
Reeves sits on his shoulder.
Eventually someone did come to the sense to ask his name and you all now know that his name is Mickey Carver and his monkey's name is Reeves.
He stands in the back, stoically listening to the man tell his tale.
