After sniffing at the blood, the small dragon clambers back down Tatsuo's arm and disappears into his robe once more. Tatsuo then adjusts his hat and follows behind Tenebral.

When he gets to them, he's going to look at the sunrods to see if they have any charges left and around the crowbar to see if he can see why it might be bent.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
When he gets to the fork, he's also going to cast detect magic to see if he can tell if the light source further along the straight route is magical or not

Mrimmy follows the group as Aurura flies cautiously around the party, never too far.

@ Tatsuo: the light source is to far away for the range of your detect magic.

The corridor to the left goes about 10 feet and ends in a wooden door. the corridor to the right goes straight for about 20 feet, also ending in a wooden door

the original corridor continues on straight ahead as well about 20 feet ahead there are stairs going down.

the staircase must be short becuase it seems odvious that the corridor continues on and there is still the faint light in the distance.

Sam steps into whatever shadows are near, and nods to Letha. I expect there is no shortage, given the environment.


Mrimmy shrugs, her eyes and her bird glow in this dark, its best she doesnt go anywhere someone or something could detect her.

Tatsuo walks in next to Mickey, fists clenched as if prepared for a fight. Which seems odd since he doesn't really look like he's much of a fighter, especially given his current company. In the dim light, the storm clouds on his forearms look even darker than they did earlier.


Mrimmy takes up the rear, a bit shakily but not showing it. She stays close behind.

Letha is irritated, and it shows on her face. "If most of these people can't follow instructions, I might as well stop giving them "

Letha opens the door revealing a 40 foot by 40 foot (approx) chamber it appears to have once served as a bunkhouse of some sort. Ten beds are in various states of disrepair, and two small chests have been smashed on the floor, spilling the meager contents of linens and ruined silk.

Three great barrels have been broken open, and a pungent vinegar smell plagues the air.

Shelves along the west wall have been toppled, their contents strewn across the floor.

GM dice rolls:

there is slight movement from the area of the collapsed shelves. you think you can make out some kind of large insect

Tatsuo quickly scans the room, looking for any visible threats. Seeing none, he stands just inside the room next to the door, watching to make sure nothing sneaks up on them from behind.

He also does a quick detect magic across the room. If he doesn't find anything, he just stares back down the corridor with detect magic on. Because why not.

I believe you guys can edit the map so if you are not on the map, go ahead and place yourself...I placed Tatsuo already based on description

Tatsuo perception / detect magic results:

over by the broken shelves you can make out smashed crystal goblets, ceramic dishes and four stone vials each sealed with a cork.

One of the vials radiates a faint aura, but you will need to concentrate a bit longer to try and identify it.

Without moving from his position, Tatsuo addresses the others. "There are four stone vials by the broken shelves. One of them is magical, but I can't identify what it is. Someone might want to have a closer look at them and see if they have a better idea."

When everybody is in the room, Letha will walk over to the broken shelves, taking care to look under the broken beds. She now has a normal arrow nocked.

"Sigh. It's useful being a specialist, but I really should pick up more skills. Shadow Man, I'm going to check out the shelves. Please cover me."

Tatsuo freezes at Mrimmy's words, eyes darting about. Trying his best not to move, he whispers "Where? Is it alive?"


"Its moving, so unless its enchanted, yes it is alive. It looks like a huge insect... I cant determine what it is." She looks for the thing, trying to figure out what it is.

Once Mrimmy points it out those looking can make out movement under the broken shelves near the stone vials that Tatsuo pointed out.

from what you can tell it appears to be some sort of centipede but larger than you probably have ever seen before.

as you look there are signs that there are definitely more than one.

Tatsuo readies a spell. He waits for a bit to see if the insects attack. If they don't, he says "Do we want to attack them or just leave? If we do attack, if I can get to the far side of them, I have something that could hit all of them."

That is assuming the broken shelves are broken enough not to get in my way.

as of right now it seems that the bugs are attempting to stay hidden under the broken shelves. There appears to be no aggressive motions from them at this point.

need to look up vermin paste but i think it only applies to swarms not giant vermin.

"If we do get in a fight, I'd like to start off in a better position."

Tatsuo walks up to Mrimmy and places his bag against the wall next to her. He smiles at her slightly, "If you wouldn't mind, could you keep an eye on this for me? Although there's nothing in it that's worth your life if it comes to it."

He then carefully tries to make his way around to a better position. While he refrains from attacking for now, he prepares himself to strike if the party decides he should or if the bugs try to attack Letha or himself.

Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

ok vermin paste will only work on swarms and normal sized vermin. if you want to not use it then that is fine.

Tatsuo circle around the broken shelves. as he does so one of the centipedes moves as well but it does not attack.

It seems to be close to the stone vials that were identified earlier.

So how bad do we want these vials ? They might be in their "territory", and we might only be attacked if we go too near to them.

Well, more people seem to see them as a threat than not. So for fear of this lasting forever, since I'm the one with an area of effect spell, unless someone stops me, I guess I'll blast them.

Tatsuo looks at his companions, making eye contact with all of them and making sure they're ready for his next move. He slowly mouths a countdown. As he begins making arcane gestures, the storm clouds on his arms start to swirl menacingly. The air goes still for an instant before white bolts of lightning shoot down his arms and out through his finger tips, blasting all the creatures at once. He then steps away from the creatures.

Electric Hands (electric): 2d4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1, 4) + 1 + 2 = 8
DC17 Reflex for 1/2 damage
Burning Hands converted to electricty damage (elemental bloodline)
+1 caster lvl (Mage's Tattoo: evocation)
+1 damage (elemental pupil)
+2 damage (draconic bloodline)

And since I assume this starts combat, I'll roll init. I'll also mark the affected squares on the map.
Init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
