Round 2
Serra waddles up, ready to hit anything threatening that comes his way. Cole unleashes another arrow at the snake, by passing the blade wielding cultist in front of him. (-7hp to snake)
Eli pulls back and readies to protect the injured. Beagan threatens the crazy man (not Jurin, the other one.) and readies to dazzle him with flashes of Ragathiel’s might.
Jurin mocks the cultist and settles down on Beagan’s pack. Grasker strikes out at the cultist, slashing his arm. His blood drips onto the symbol and slowly begins to boil.
Beagan flings Ragathiel's fury at the cultist, trying to blind him. The cultist just shrugs it off however, and attacks Grasker.

Eli moves forward, allowing his sight to take in as much as the corners of the cavern will allow, before returning to the back group. An old man's reconnaissance. A poor substitute for Avashnyel's eyes, but he and the others should know what prevents our forward movement.
"We wait here, I think. Grasker, Cole, Serra, and Beagan are well in control of the conflict. It seems that there is a rather disturbed individual, lashing out unnecessarily at our forward party. On top of that the snake is still not dead. Horgus, it is good that you offer your strength. We may need it soon enough. Anevia, your leg alright? Avashnyel, would you hear more, or is that sufficient?" Eli looks back down the natural corridor, hoping that there are no sudden rear flanks to defend.

Eli checks with the others, making sure they're ready, should the fight breach the front lines.
Beagan, Jurin, Grasker are up

Beagan Berelcar |

Round 3, Initiative 12
Upon hearing the words of the crazed man, Beagan’s body stiffens suddenly. His muscles freeze for a moment before he takes a slow, half-step back and draws his sword. His gaze never leaves the commotion in front of him, locked in a tight stare.
Unlike his normal high, light and impish squaks, his voice is steady, low and serious. ”Jurin, Eli, Anevia, please let me know if you need my assistance.”
His head never turns, his attention remaining squarely focused ahead, his legs slightly crouched, ready to spring in whatever direction is needed.

"Grasker, can you step back? You really should step back. That looks awful. I only need a moment, but I don't want to impede your retreat." Eli hugs the wall, trying to look as inconspicuous to the worm horde as he can be, while flailing to lay a hand upon the injured fighter.

Serra Iondri Phaer |

Round 4, Init 21
Serra recoils from the worms, unsure how to help.
"Worms, huh? Uh...that ain't good."
Serra double moves back 40', his soldier's waddle forgotten in his haste to flee.
"I'll be back in a moment, Kastor! We're coming! Just stay put!" Serra yells over his shoulder as he strategically advances in the reverse direction.

Serra bravely charges to the rear, yelling to "Kastor" to stay put. Cole shoots uselessly at the swarm and calls for fire. Distracted by the crawling pink worms, he staggers backwards only to be healed by Elyanias. The magics greatly restore and rejuvenate him, closing the bloody stab wound from the cultist.
"Thank you again, wise one....ugh, do they have faces?" Grasker stomps a stray worm under his heel.

GM_Verdigris |

Beagan drops his shield, calling upon the fires of freedom as he approaches the swarm. The worms recoil, their hideous faces in sharp relief in the light of the flame. Beagan misses the worms, but manages not to touch anything else either. His hand flames with the holy fire of The Big R.
Jurin pulls his sword, finally taking the worms seriously.
Grasker moves back, grateful for Eli's healing. Stomping on one of the worms, he realizes that they do indeed have faces; the face of the dying priest, before it melts into the worms' anonymous mass.

He holds out his hand for another of the flasks. When none comes, he hollers to those further back, ”Anyone back there have any fire? Oil? Alchemy Fire? Anything?”
He moves back to the rear echelon and, assuming no more fire is forthcoming, recommends they begin to retreat. ”We have not the means to fight this foe. We should withdraw and consider our options.”

Cole shakes his head and says simply, "No, no, you hit the wall there. Just the wall."
"I can't tell what's going on from back here. Take me forward. Please" Aravashnyel adds the last bit almost as an afterthought.
"I'm not sure that's a good idea as yet. The worms seem to have faded away once the priest was removed from the pentagram in the floor, but let's see a moment."
Cole stays with the civilians in the back a minute or two to be sure nothing else is coming along. His bow at the ready he covers the rear while the others, presumably, examine the area.
