Oh oops, I thought it was the same guy shooting twice. Carry on! First time I've seen those bolts used before, pretty cool!

![]() |

I go to the Bronx Zoo and the Botanical Gardens and this is what I miss?

![]() |

Wow, nice move you had there, Mr. Peppers. Love it. Silas is envious but would never admit it.

did you notice that a shot that did 37points of damage didnt take down verde? Finally a small obstacle!

![]() |

Yeah, Silas is shaking in his boots being level 3 and all. I have a few options but I want to see what Gallix does first. I could activate bless, or get back and lob a snowball. Or do the daring move, activate chill touch and try to full attack next round.

![]() |

You guys disable those guards ASAP, or Sirettis is going to turn into mush!

![]() |

You of all people would have that false life going bub. Why is no one applying it? It lasts 3hrs!
Hopefully at some point a partial wand of it becomes available.. Mr Peppers is going to live off that thing!

GM Hmm |

Hey... Just think of deep doo-doo you'd be all in if Mr. Peppers hadn't dispelled the dancing lights? Y'all still have the advantage of numbers.
One of the things that I love is that the folks here on the main convoy are competent enough that you might actually believe that they got this job.

![]() |

I'd fling it at the enemy, not be in it. ;)
But yes, Mr. Peppers is being very tactical.

![]() |

Reporting in from Seochin Airport, South Korea.
The biggest part of the flight is behind me, but i'm lounging for my next flight for another 1 1/2 hours, with some lounging done already.
I had no sleep on the 9 hour flight.. >_>...accursed seat annoyed my lower back.
Watched a movie on board though, private display with options to choose from, and am having a strong coffee right now.
It's crowded with South Koreans, can you imagine?
I'll squeeze in a few travel shorts, along the way, if time allows it.
:)

![]() |

Amazing how that works D! I can't imagine being on a plane that long, I think the longest I've gone is about 3hrs... once. Enjoy your trip, we'll do our best keeping D alive, but no promises.

![]() |

I'll haunt you from beyond, if i do. :D
It's a pity i have no way to upload pics from my camera.

![]() |

We'll just have to look forward to a link to a slideshow when you return! :)
Longest flight I ever took was LA to Beijing, something like a 14hr flight if I remember correctly. I love to travel, but that was pretty miserable.

GM Hmm |

Mr. Peppers would make a good villain.
Sirettis, I hope you don't mind that I've made Nadini somewhat real here. I feel badl for how guilty I'm making your character feel. But hang in there!
Heist and espionage stories all have these moments.
Does anyone want to bot D?
Hmm

![]() |

I'll be able to put 1 a day, as they have wifi on the rooms. :)
At -6GMT, as they have a -7 compared to my usual timezone.

GM Hmm |

So would you like to bot yourself, D?

![]() |

It's fine. Nadini should feel betrayed. This will work into Sirettis's next Hex choice, anyway.

![]() |

Morning all! Sunny and cool in Toronto! We need more of these tactical battles they are fun!

![]() |

Also been a sunny day in Osaka.
I've almost completed typing my venture of today, which will lack the part where it ended up me having bad luck with dinner, the coffee with desert, without the coffee included, and lack of water to drink.
So i'll get that up in a bit on my profile in a spoiler. ;)

GM Hmm |

This has been a challenging scenario for all of you, hasn't it? It's been challenging for me too. So much of it has been double duty between the two groups!
EDIT: NPC names are no coincidence. I frequently name NPCs for their colors in other languages so that I can keep them straight.

![]() |

its been a great scenario I like the challenges we faced for this one. reminds me of the 2nd mission we ran where I brought Bishop and we went to the warehouse for the last fight.
Got to think outside of box for this one!

GM Hmm |

And now you have to think to get into the box...

![]() |

I'm just part of the brawn. Finesse is for Silas and Peppers and the jack of all trades, Gallix.

![]() |

Usually I name NPCs after some kind of garment. Every monster seems to wear a red sash, or wear blue boots, haha.
This has been really fun so far.

![]() |

I do the same thing. If I choose green or red as a token colour in Google Slides, that creature becomes the green-toothed goblin or the red-toqued demon.

![]() |

Ya I guess I never thought much on how we actually opened that secret door... wish I had that wand of knock now.

![]() |

Some people have been overzealous. :)
I return to 26 posts to read after posting this.

Happy Tuesday. I almost wrote Thursday. Man it would be awesome if it was Thursday.
There seems to be a bit of a plot twist happening.. or we F'd up royally. Either way, its gone from interesting to nerve wracking interesting.
On a side note, last night we finished off The Shattered Star, and I must say it was a doosey of an ending for our crew. I'll do my best to leave out any spoilers, but I'll put it in a spoiler just in case anyone is dead set against knowing the slightest bit of the story line.
Lackies fell quickly in round two, as they usually do, and at the start of round three our Barbarian does what they do, he staggers his way into melee with the Boss and a lackey (Yes he was actually Staggered at the time). Unfortunately for him, with some AOOs followed by the boss and lackey's turn before he went again, and an unfortunate crit it was game over for him. It was a frequent occurrence throughout the game, barbarians just can't survive, at least he couldn't against hard hitters.
Up steps the Swashbuckler/Weekend Warrior who rolls in with an impressive Derring Do double exploding Acrobatics check in the low 60s. Wow! Great, awesome! He misses his one attack. I toss a bomb at the boss to say "At least I did some damage, you guys should be more like me.." type of moment. Our witch goes and there's no breath of life going to happen for our Barb so he's DED. She does her reroll thinger that witches do. Boss n Flunky time: Full round with another crit. "Oh Oh" We say. Use one of your cool Swashybuckly things or that other immediate action thing. No go, already used my immediate for the round (I think I've got the order somewhat messed up, but either way, all his failsafes were immediate and he was outta immediates. DED goes our other melee guy. Nothing new here, our melee's died alot. ALOT. I gotta save asses yet again, its what Dale the Sage (Mindchemist) does. I continue moving into the room again a bit and toss another bomb, bad choice of damage type.. does very little. Poop
Witch does what she does.. panics. She doesn't do anything offensive, she's a witch, she heals and makes people reroll. She moves in and grabs both DED meatbags by the scruff and greater teleports away with a telepathic "Sorry Dale". Dale gives her a much more visual "FU" one fingered wave in response.
The DM loses it. WOW! I can't believe you just left Dale high and dry like that!... I know, I feel bad too, but we'll come back for him after I get these two alive again...
Dale: Screw that frosty b*%%%, I'm going down tossing bombs. I also still had a heavy hitting NPC. Tossed another bomb and headed out of the room around the corner after getting half my HP knocked off. I've got a good buffed AC, great saves, fast healing, delayed potions, 9 lives, and more dnd experience. I get the Boss out to square up with the NPC and NPC finishes the last mook and then the haymakers start between boss and NPC. NPC lays some good licks but loses. Bombs keep dropping, one per turn. (Both the DM and I agreed that the craziness of multiple bombs in a turn ruins the game so I just kept 1 per turn the whole AP)
Now its me vs bossman, and if anyone has ever played a bomb chucker... everything you can do threatens an AOO... ungood. I started trading the one AOO for one bomb hit once I ran out of jaunt boot uses. A couple turns of 'kiting' and the guy falls. I win! Wooo!! I win!! Skype goes nuts, mental middle fingers erupt at the frosty b!**!. Hold on. What's going on... Due to us sucking at some point, Bossman gets true ressed from frosty b%~$+'s OOPSY earlier. I hate you all!! Another bomb or two and kiting, time to fly out of this corner, take the AOO, use my delayed extract cure serious so I don't die and chug that heal extract like I haven't eaten in a month. Yay, back to nearly full hp, still got decent bomb stocks and some fast healing left, but an almost full HP boss and no more 15' jaunt boot moves. I also remind 'frosty b$@@%' she teleported away with my other two unused heal extracts on the dead folks. Thanks again for that btw.
A few more turns of trying to kite but taking two hits to every one of my bombs, not good trades when they have more hp than you... Its looking like I've got 1 turn left, time for the last grasp at that last little straw you think has a 5% chance to work.... if his AOO misses or rolls low damage... NAT 1 MISS! **FIST PUMP** Drink extract and attempt the melee touch attack to use it.... NAT 1!! WTFFFFF. Oh ya, I've got a reroll... HIT. The peasant rejoices (me). Time for that save... Nat 2!!! FAILURE!!!
Dale slides that little bomb of his into big bossman's mouth and touches it off... CDG FTW! Skype goes WILD! Even frosty b$~*& is happy and remorseful.
Dale feeling quite pissy and being Neutral... grabs up the artifact that he's coveted for day one of the adventure mind you (destroy that thing? ME? I dunno about that...) Grabs up the pile of amazing magic items that spew forth in a diablo-esk loot fountain and rides off into the sunset (after scraping together a decently viable Dale looking smear pile on the floor) to enjoy his riches and his new found power while trying to find the last couple clues (aka levels to hit 20) to figure out alchemical immortality. (His whole story was he was a slave his whole adult life and escaped by selling his soul to a Devil for help, payable on dead. He started adventuring in his 50s... age resistance FTW. End goal of alchemical immortality and forever not paying on that debt!)
The END. Perfect ending for my character, and quite the turn of events for the others.

![]() |

I'm waiting to see what happens. Are we in an inter-dimensional maze? YIKES!

![]() |

Congrats Dale. Looks like you got everything you wanted.

I can send pictures via google hangouts, correct?
Today....i was at the Nagasaki memorial and its museum, on the Nuke dropped back in the WW2. That was...an impression to see. The disaster that befell innocent people, infants, children. Survivors mutilated and scarred. >_> Nobody deserves that.
I was told the pilot dropping said bomb didn't know what he was carrying, and i feel bad for him, him having killed over 75 thousand people with the blast alone. That guy must be scarred for several lifetimes.
But good grief...the insane stuff people do to one another for the sake of war. A sentence that rubbed me the wrong way, though the sentiment understood of wanting to spare lives....on own side, (who wouldn't) "it must be done to spare thousands of young lives".....justifies death of over 75 thousand instantly, 75 thousand injured, many thousands more in agony... (the pictures don't lie, an infant missing skin, a little kid half his face, among others :( )
War is bad to hear about on the news, but this....it makes me sad. :(
I needed to get it off my chest.... >_>..it's messed up sh1te, putting it extremely lightly.
And Hiroshima is on the program later on still....

![]() |

Ya lets hope no more nukes ever get dropped by any side.
On that somber note the weather here reflects just that... steady dreary rain and in the mid 40s. Spring for sure trying to bring back more mud.

![]() |

I don't know where I heard it, but as soon as you raise a fist, we have failed as humans. I'm glad there is a reminder of our failures, so we will do anything we can to evade bloodshed.

![]() |

Happy Friday (for me at least) of the work week, Thursday to everyone else I suspect. Going to take a nice long weekend to relax before work gets busy next week
PS, I totally didn't expect there to be a bunch of rooms inside this transport thing. Hmm is quite sneaky.

![]() |

I'm jealous of Mr. Peppers' long weekend, then again, I'll be sipping cocktails down south in 3 weeks time!
Where's this altar? I feel like construct smashing.

![]() |

How... large is this transport?
Yay it may not rain today, what a pleasant surprise!

![]() |

Ya its not raining here atm either but the long term forecast is about 70% rain. At least I think it took out the last of our lake ice in the area, but the roads are going to be pretty damn muddy.

![]() |

It's beautiful and sunny in Toronto. It's supposed to get up to 18 or 19 later on (mid 60s in freedom units) although the forecast says this means thunderstorms into the evening. At this point, I'll take any bit of nice weather I can get.

![]() |

Forecast is sunny.
Btw, maybe Hmm can post a pic i sent her, to show you guys. Made in Fukuoka. ^^

![]() |

I can't say I've ever heard of 'freedom' units. Being in the world of science I deal with Celsius a lot, its preferred. That and the glorious world of the metric system.
Hope your trip is going nicely D, I'd take some of that sun!

![]() |

Not Kelvin? Come on Peps I thought you were a scientist! Freedom units is a slight tease at the use of the imperial system.

![]() |

The English really screwed our system of measurements, not to mention their own... Stone? Fathom? League? Craziness.

16 ounces to my pint!
I asked for a 40 oz of beer, not this...1182.94 milliliters! Don't you dare round down to a liter!

![]() |

Pint does have a nice ring to it when you're talking about beer, but liters are just easier in the grand scheme. Meters even more so.
