Fishing sucked. But sap is starting to boil for the evening so things are looking up! Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. Happy PbP vacation Hmm!
Sir D. Arthraven
|
Hmm, do you have a link to the thread, for GM signup, on the other specials you mentioned earlier?
| GM Hmm |
Are you looking to GM Cosmic Captive? I just closed the application form two days ago. I can reopen it for you if you wish, but I am in the process of making GM selections now.
Hmm
Sir D. Arthraven
|
There wasn't one in particular, but you mentioned earlier there were three scheduled this year GMs could sign up for.
I've not run a multi-table game before, but i'd like to do one.
What date does Cosmic Captive start? Since i'm in Japan from 22nd of april and returning 13th of May.
Mr. Peppers
|
Some time in June if I remember right. I hope we're able to stick together somewhat for a game? I'm assuming that most or all of us plan on playing it.
GM Red
|
I did apply to run it, and you guys know you're my first choice of players if you're interested (and if I'm selected!)
| GM Hmm |
It is possible to both play and run.
Red, if you wish to GM for the Red Arm of Absalom at your table, Cup would be happy to play under you! I've never actually played Cosmic Captive, and Cup wants to go to other Planes! Are you planning on doing the whole gang as a Tier 7-8 group?
___
D, I anticipate Cosmic Captive to be an absolute beast. Let me take this off line with you, and I will get your answers to the GM application offline as well. Are you available to chat on hangouts? If so, ping me there.
Chances are good at this point that if you got accepted it would be as a back up GM -- I have a really solid group of applications already in place, and I'm trying to solidify everything so that I can apply for support early in the hopes that Paizo can actually get Cosmic Captive out to my GMs early enough for them to prep it. Don't be upset if I tell you it's a no-go. I'm going to have to say no to some good GMs as it is.
If you're interested in applying for the next special, it'll be far less beastly. We'll be doing Siege of the Diamond City this fall, followed by Race for the Runecarved Key in January!
Hmm
Sir D. Arthraven
|
I've played that last con. :D
It was great, with capital G.
Ok, i'd be fine being a backup, if that's ok with you.
| GM Hmm |
My cold is getting worse and worse. I may not be able to pull together the bandwidth for a pair of GM posts moving you to Day Three today.
There is still one person in group A who could trigger that Knowledge Local Spoiler. If you guys feel up to it, converse. (Or take notes on what you learned so that you can remember some of these details like the dancing lights when you plan your heist.)
Sniffle. I am a snot machine, and I hate it.
Hmm
Mr. Peppers

Merry Monday to you all. While some of the state got 13" of snow on Saturday we got merely a few flakes and are forecast for a bit more Wednesday, then after this week it looks like Spring is springing. No more nights below freezing and the end of syrup season most likely.
It would be pretty awesome if we could all play this crew together for the special, 7-8 you say? Would we be 7 yet?
Get well soon HMM, head colds are my least favorite sickness, you may be well enough to do anything you just don't feel like doing ANYTHING. And it seems to last forever.
Uesugi Hideyoshi
|
Hmm sorry to hear you are under the weather. I'm back was a busy weekend even on Sunday! Red you left your poison water at my place!!! ARGH lol
Sirettis
|
I'm Feelin' great today, and so is Boston. The first day in a long time I didn't have to wear gloves.
Sir D. Arthraven
|
Weather started cool and breezy in the shade, but turned to Sunny and pleasantly warm after lunch.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Agreed with the others, feel better soon, Hmm! I've been contending with some weird throat/nasal congestion for the past couple weeks that's had me coughing off and on the whole time. Definitely not my favorite. Hopefully once spring arrives in earnest it'll clear me up.
Mr. Peppers
|
Gloves? What are gloves? ;)
Had a young eagle sitting in the tree outside my office window looking in at me as it was being mobbed by crows. Ratty looking this time of year, about 20' away.
What kind of temps are you looking at over there this time of year D?
GM Red
|
Poison water?! Haha, feel free to dump it 'Sugi, by the time I see you next it'll be flatter than a pancake.
It's pretty warm in Toronto today, but there's a lot of rain in the forecast. As for Cosmic Captive, I'm not sure you'll all be level 7 by then. It's in June, so about 2 months give or take, probably enough time for 2 more scenarios after this one. I'd gladly run a 7-8 table if you all hit that tier, otherwise, it'll probably be fresh PCs of yours.
I could always run one of those shorter modules for a full level instead... Hmm...
Mr. Peppers
|
Now is that Hmm or HMM or hmmmmmm?
Poison water.. is that like spoiled fruit juice? Or firewater...
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
*Ears perk up*
"Did someone say 'module'?"
Is there not a 5-6 tier in which we could do the special?
| GM Hmm |
You could totally run Cosmic Captive at 5-6. Let's keep the gang together!
So... Why don't you guys finish up your conversation in the tents. I am composing your Day three intros now.
Hmm
Uesugi Hideyoshi
|
poison water = diet coke hehe.
I agree with keeping the gang together for exploring the planets. Not sure what Uesugi will think about this I guess he will view being on another planet akin to being in the heavens.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
If we leave Golarion there's the really good chance that Gallix will just go nuts. A chance to spread his fame beyond Golarion?! Now that's something he can get behind!
Mr. Peppers
|
Ugh diet coke IS poison water. I won't let that stuff get anywhere's near my rum!
Mr Peppers does want/need to hit another plane to finish up another task on his Season 8 'to do' list. Be it at level 6 or level 7, he's game.
Sir D. Arthraven
|
Other planets?
That's right up D.'s alley. Golarion is just one world to test one's powers (or unleash) upon.
Sir D. Arthraven
|
Hmm, if at all still possible, i'd happily sign up for GM'ing Siege of the Diamond city. :)
I will advice our team to play it, if they haven't.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Yeah, I was thinking of trying to GM Siege when that one comes around. Gallix will be in for that one too, provided he's still alive at that point. A lot can happen in a few months in this group!
| GM Hmm |
It's Day Three! Woo hoo!
Uesugi Hideyoshi

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Gallix wont die. Uesugi will sacrifice himself first to keep the barbarian from dying!
| GM Hmm |
I love Uesugi.
Sir D. Arthraven
|
Oh?
*Lifts the both of you into the air*
Now think about that foolish talk about anyone dying, while i go get myself a cup of ginseng tea.
Mr. Peppers
|
I'm pretty sure if anyone dies first it'll likely be Mr Peppers. I still cringe every time I see my hp total and everyone else's 'cept Sirettis. Don't be trying that hocus pocus on Mr Peppers neither D.
As to quote a bad mama jamma: "I'll shut that s@!+ down!"
PS, how can you drink that tea? Never been a fan of almost any herbal tea.
GM Red
|
Oh wow, yeah, I wasn't thinking, we can just play CC in Tier 5-6 if that ends up being the case.
On second thought, hands off my diet coke Uesugi, I know where you live!
Sir D. Arthraven
|
Why, Peppers-san, hocus-pocus implies magic.
But no, i don't drink ginseng tea myself. English bland or fruit flavored is my own cup of tea. Forest fruits, strawberry, black berry.
Mr. Peppers
|
Ya I wonder if my disrupt magic ability would work on it. They keep adding in all these new 'things' that don't play nice together. I still can't believe you can't counter wands or SLAs or scrolls. Especially wands and scrolls, the weakest of magics.
Black currant is a nice tea I haven't had for a long time.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Oh, I'm just being somewhat pessimistic, I suppose. Though I really appreciate Uesugi's offer to sacrifice himself for Gallix. He'd surely do the same for his bald-headed brother in arms!
D, exactly how high can you lift Gallix? Just trying to figure out the length of rope I need to use to tether myself to something.
Speaking of newly added things in Pathfinder, anybody else see the announcement for Ultimate Wilderness?! Be still my heart! I love nature/primal powers, and the new Shifter class sounds like it might be right up my alley in that respect.
Tea is fine, I''m pretty happy with most varieties. Coffee is the far superior hot beverage, though.
*Pokes bear*

My kinetic blast reaches 30 feet, unless i take the extended range, at which i can Sand bullet targets up to 120 feet away.
Eat that, longbow.

Oh yeah, I heard about that Shifter class. Sounded pretty cool!

Coffee is good mixed with hot cocoa and milk :) Not so good straight up. Smells nice though.
That's a good sounding book Gallix! Hopefully lots of variants on playing classes with pets in a petless state. Its hard enough to remember birthdays, never mind pet birthdays...
Sirettis

My kinetic blast reaches 30 feet, unless i take the extended range, at which i can Sand bullet targets up to 120 feet away.
Eat that, longbow.
Longbows still have multiple range increments.
Sir D. Arthraven
|
Irrelevant :P
I'm talking initial range here. ^^
A greater extended range allows a kinetic blast to be shot at a distance of up to 480 feet.
Mr. Peppers
|
I don't think I've ever seen a game where you got to shoot something over 100ft away, at least not in a PFS or other such non f2f game. Not sure why a range that far really matters if games never make it an issue.
Cup
|
You have not played high tier yet or dealt much with flying enemies, darling Pep!
Range starts getting important real soon.
Hmm
Mr. Peppers
|
Oh really? That's good to hear! I like seeing rules that are usually hand waved away come into play in PFS. I stand corrected... I know you posted from that Gnome for a reason...
Silas Vincent
|
I've read most of gameplay, but you'll likely not get a post out of me until 4pmish eastern. Sorry!
Sirettis

In my homebrew game, one character plays a very annoying archer who won't let bad guys escape the battlefield. Ever. He's now level 9, but he was doing this since level 4. Longbows are amazingly low cost for their benefit.
Question about Improved Familiar in PFS: When my magus hits level 7 she will be able to recruit the faerie dragon Riddywhipple via the Improved Familiar feat. This introduces several questions:
- Do you need a boon to use Improved Familiar in PFS?
- The boon doesn't indicate anything special about Riddywhipple except he's a Faerie Dragon. Does that mean I use the standard Faerie Dragon statblock? (Spells included?)
I'll ask on the general forums in a bit if everyone is stumped.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Yeah, the Shifter sounds pretty awesome. Also notable, though, is that Mark Seifter confirmed in the product discussion thread that there will be brawler archetypes in there. Let's see...by November we'll probably be up around level 7 or 8 depending on what we get up to...how much would it cost to retrain into a different archetype? Haha!
Sirettis
|
Shifters? Is Paizo finally going to make a transforming class that doesn't need magic (besides that severely weakened Alchemist archetype?)
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
It seems so! I'm really hoping for a full BAB class with some fun primal abilities. Kinda like the paladin but for non-Lawful Good wild types. I'm also just not a super great player with casters at this point, so another martial option would definitely play to my strong suit.
GM Red
|
Beat Mr. Peppers to the good morning post, haha!
Happy Tuesday, more rain here today and pretty spring-like. I'm sure the incoming pollen will have me sniffling and sneezing any day now.
