New page, reposting initiative:
De'arv'ki--22
Yessai--21
Blackscale 2--18
Gemheart--16
Greenscale 2--11
Mundarion--8
Greenscale 1--5
You should specify which square you are moving to. I'm going to guess Y11, but say so in the future.
Gemheart charges and slams the lizardfolk, heavily wounding him and nearly (but not quite) knocking him unconscious!
The second grenscale dives underwater, and fumbles with a lever. After a moment, spears shoot out of the holes, just as Mundarion observed they could. Only Yessai stands in the path of a spear...
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
and she is unaffected.
Mundarion's turn.
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
I forgot to include B1 on the initiative list:
De'arv'ki--22
Yessai--21
Blackscale 2--18
Gemheart--16
Greenscale 2--11
Mundarion--8
Greenscale 1--5
Blackscale 1--5-
The greenscale swerves out of the path of Mundarion's shot, dodging successfully.
Meanwhile, the greenscale steps back to give room to his larger companion, whilst hurling his javelin at Gemheart:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
The blackscale, after letting her smaller companion move out of the way (holding an action) charges forwards (triggering an AoO from Gemheart) and bites at Yessai
bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
though without success.
De'arv'ki's turn.
The map has been updated.

De fires at the greenscale Mundarion shot at.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Sneak attack: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6) = 12
Then, De vanishes from view again
Swift action: vanishing trick.
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
Yessai stares at the hulking reptilian behemoth, and snarls.
"Look to trap us? We are not mere flesh for you to dine on!"
The doughty direlock swings her wicked overlarge blade....
Swift Action: Change inimica to Stricken. -2 to blackscale's AC vs dire weapon.
Standard Action: Attack!!!!
Shaow!!!: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 18 [+3 BAB, +1 Str, +1 enchantment, -2 Large] - [-2 to blackscale's AC]
Shgothtplbt!!!!: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (1, 8) + 2 = 11 [+1 Str, +1 enchantment]
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
Yessai strikes the lizardfolk, giving them a painful gash!
Meanwhile, the other blackscale hurls another javelin from the water, this time at Yessai
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
natural 20 reroll: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (1) + 22 = 23
natural 1 reroll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
but he does not have particularly good aim, as his javelin flies in the wrong direction and lands in the water!
Gemheart's turn.
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
With a howl, the blackscale falls to the ground, thump!
It's down.
The traps fire again, and once again only Yessai is in the way:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
piercing damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 4) = 11
Yessai, make a DC 20 fortitude save or be nauseated.
The remaining greenscale swims around and throws an axe at Gemheart:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Finally Gemheart's untouchability seems broken....
Map updated, Mundarion's turn.
Mundarion
Doesn't look like I've got a line of sight to anything.
Mundarion moves to Y,9. Assuming G1 is down Mundarion will use his arcane strike ability on his bow and fire at G2.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
2 arrows used.
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
so B1 and G1 on the map are just the bodies?
Yep.
[dice=Fortitude DC 20]1d20 + 6
Yessai screams as a spear pierces her side.
Remember the natural 20 reroll (reroll as 1d20+26 instead of an automatic success. It shouldn't actually matter unless you roll a one, as the blackscale did when he attacked last round.)
Mundarion successfully strikes the remaining normal sized lizardfolk, who yelps in pain as she is struck.
De'arv'ki's turn, map updated.
De'arv'ki Paddfoot
|
De fires a bolt at the greenscale attacking Gemheart, before vanishing one last time.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Sneak attack: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3) = 13
Swift action: vanishing trick
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
Yessai looks out at the blackscale, menacing but not in proximity. She grits her teeth and with a grunt pulls the spear out. She is about to cast it aside, but instead stows it, perhaps to use against the lizardfolk. The githyanki looks again at the murderholes and moves out of the line of fire...
Standard Action: Remove and stow spear.
Move Action: Move to AA 9
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
De'arv'ki narrowly misses the swimming lizardfolk.
The blackscale pulls itself up onto the ground and barrels towards Gemheart, and takes a swipe with its claw
power attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 3) + 10 = 17
Map updated, Gemheart's turn.
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
The flesh does yield, as Gemheart strikes a serious blow to the lizardfolk, who gasps for air but continues fighting!
The remaining greenscale hurls a final javelin at Gemheart, before swimming northwest, away from the fight:
deadly aim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Mundarion's turn, map updated.
Mundarion
In my defense I will note that I got off a 15 hour shift this morning to go back on an 11 hour shift tonight with only 9 hours off in between. Normally things aren't quite so hectic, but for some reason I just can't seem to recall all the roll/re-roll rules in this variant. Possible sign of encroaching senility bah humbug.
2nd reroll: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
De'arv'ki Paddfoot
|
De fires at the fleeing greenscale, hoping to prevent them from fleeing.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1
Sneak attack: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5) = 14
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
Mundarion still misses:)
Am I to assume De'arv'ki has moved forwards along the wall before firing? She does not have line of sight to the greenscale without moving forwards (remember the white is a wall,) nor is she within range of sneak attack. Assuming you moved somewhere to speed things up...
De'arv'ki strikes at the fleeing lizardfolk's vitals, but the reptile is still strong enough to swim on!
Yessai's turn.
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
Yessai tastes the blood welling in her mouth and snarls again. These cold blooded villains shall pay for shedding hers! She ensorcels her blade and moves to end the blackscale.
Swift Action: Increase damage via Terror Pool expenditure. 1 point..
Move Action: Move to 12 Y to attack blackscale.
Standard Action: Slice!
Shraaw!!!!!!: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 9 [+3 BAB, +1 Str, +1 enchantment, -2 Large] - [-2 to blackscale's AC]
Shgothtplbtplopttt: 2d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7, 2) + 2 + 2 = 13 [+1 Str, +1 enchantment, +2 terror pool buff]]
Terror Pool points remaining 3/5
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
As Yessai runs up to the blackscale, the creature takes a swipe at her with his claw:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
but to no effect. Yessai's attack in ineffectual as well, though.
"There is power in me yet, mammal!"
The lizardfolk growls as he swings both of his claws before biting Gemheart:
Claw at Gemheart: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 1) + 10 = 12
Claw at Yessai: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 5) + 10 = 16
Bite at Gemheart: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
So an AoO due to reach? Ok. I had forgotten about that.
And did only one of his claw attacks target Yessai as well as Gemheart? Or were both regualr attack claws for Yessai?
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
As Gemheart strikes, the lizardfolk growls
"Foolish metalhead, you cannot over pow--"
he is cut off mid-word as his head spins from the impact, before he falls unconscious!
The greenscale swims away, and scales the steps to the north. Current map. There's no way you can get to the remaining lizardfolk before he enters the next room. So, if you want to chase him down, that will mean spilling into the next room and making the encounter bigger. Otherwise, this encounter is over.
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
Yessai quakes under the power of the balckscale's onlsught, her eyes widening in joy as Gemheart ends the behemoth. Coughing up dark blood she grins, then wipes her mouth with the back of an ornate gauntlet. The proud direlock leans heavily on her direblade.
"[Koff koff]. Well finished Gem. [hkkkkkkkh] Now we wait for the rest to come and finish us off..."
Yup, happy to not "make the encounter bigger". I'm on 5 hp...
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
You couldn't see from there, since the wall was in the way. If you leave the inner chamber and look again, though,
With the fighting done, Vyrellis calls out from her gem
"The Moonstone! It ith now unprotected, get thee the moonstone from the statue!"
Mundarion
Mundarion goes to the door of the chamber and looks out.
Perception check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
And once again the RNG aligns with the forces of darkness ... :-(
As Mundarion passes next to Yessai on his way to the door he whispers to her, "There's something I would like you to think on and get back to me about. What do you think the odds are that this "Vyrellis" is actually one of Karavakos' facets?"
De'arv'ki Paddfoot
|
De climbs down from the roof, and takes a look through the doorway.
Perception check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
She then points out the small level to Mundarion.
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
Were the spears coming from a trap? I thought they were flung by grerenscales outside the room. Shows what I know!.
Yessai whispers back.
"It is a good hypothesis - regardless, I am not keen to retrieve the item without healing first - the last time we did' Vyrellis bidding some strange golem attacked us..."
Any body know how many charges remain?
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
