Thanks for your patience, everyone. Looks like these are our contenders for the upcoming round:
Vironus
Trihedron
Basha
Elinora
Bruno
Jezebel
Arian
Vatale
Gin
Zouh
Liane
Johnny
Gnasher
Falcon
Rolg
Shigeharu
I'll give everyone a few hours to make sure their gear is up-to-date, and this is the pit fighter they wish to be using. Once opponents are decided, gear decisions are final (those who are level four should already have updated character from their increase in level).
Also a reminder to Eben that you're welcome to toss in a 3rd level challenger if you feel like it. Opponents will be decided this afternoon.

Hi every one.
I've had some family issues in the last hours which means I will not be as available for posting. As Liane fights are usually long, it will not be fair for my opponent to wait too long for my posts. So, I will retire Liane from the running this time. But I will surely come back. With the three fights I've been in and all those I've observed, I learned a lot on the rules and the mad builds that can be made.
You can now all go an resell your bows/reach weapons and continue your normal nail-fighting. :-)

I posted a little about this in the test thread, but Jehova--would you be willing to "deputize" someone to setup the matches in your stead when you're too busy? I can wait, and I'm sure most people can, but it seems it'd be a good idea for instances like this where there are no more challenges or randomized matches going and we're just waiting for the pairings. The pit threads are already up, so we'd just need someone to randomize the pairings.
If you picked two people to be "deputy arbiters" or whatever, they could assign the matchups and pit numbers and while you're away kind of monitor the matches to answer minor rules questions and whatever. If the fighters were still dissatisfied after a ruling they could appeal to you and wait it out.
This way it takes some of the burden off you and keeps the matches going when you're busy.
I'd nominate Choon and Eben, for example, due to their rules knowledge and solid availability. I'm willing to help out too, if need be.
I definitely don't want to step on your toes, I just know how much work this can be.

I appreciate the vote of confidence, mbauers. ANd while I think it's generally a good idea, I'm not sure I'm confident about stepping into that role.
My rules knowledge is okay (not great; just ask Hirtz about the whole grapple sequence thing). But most importantly, I'm at the top end of my pbp capacity right now. I think i'd struggle to monitor all the fights the way they deserve.
I'm not against it; I'm just hesitant currently.

Yep, and that's what I envision, too--just minor clarifications and things that require an arbiter but not necessarily interpreting vague rules. For example, just rolling for matchups-- that's something anyone could do and probably free up a good chunk of time from Jehova, you know? I'd do that if he didn't mind. I could even post the rolls here.

Hey everybody, super sorry about the delay, this does happen more frequently than I'd like, especially when I explicitly say "I'll have them up by yadda blabba" and then don't follow through.
My dear mother took somewhat ill this weekend (not super seriously, just enough that the last few days got rather jumbled around from what I had planned), and a few responsibilities fell through the cracks.
I would be totally down with deputizing some people, but I think that those roles would look more like doing randomizations and setting up fights (as mbauers said) as opposed to arbitrating matches (which really requires statblocks and such and thus can't be done by anyone who is involved in fights).
I'd prefer it if combatants didn't start their own challenge bouts without some sort of authorization, but I realize that I haven't been super consistent with getting them up, so I will count the battle between Vironus and Zouh as legitimate, but let's figure out how the deputization will work before any more posting of challenges by anyone besides me.
Anyhow, I'm exhausted at the moment, but let me get these fights up! I shouldn't be too absent for the next few days, but even when I can't check in constantly the fights seem to often run rather smoothly. I'm really appreciating the level of sportsmanship I've seen so far.
First off, we have our inaugural Level 4 bout, with Rolg vs. Shigeharu in Pit 1. I'm sure everyone is anxious to see these undefeated champions clash :D
As four our 3rd level fights, we have the following match ups. Arian will fight the next available combatant.
Elinora vs. Gin // Pit Two
Vironus vs. Basha // Pit Three
Johnny vs. Vatale // Pit Four
Bruno vs. Jezebel // Pit Five
Zouh vs. Falcon // Pit Six
Trihedron vs. Gnasher // Pit Seven
Arian vs. ??? // Pit Eight

Very fun fight Choon. I got a couple of good rolls but you were still more dangerous than I was expecting without Esmeralda. Very nice.
mbauers Jezebel is good for a challenge if it is allowed. I need to update equipment a bit before we get going though as I have a tweak or two to make.
