So Bruno, how about that Challenge match you accepted from me before the last randomisation? ;)

VICTORY TO BASHA. XD

Scarab Sages

I did have that in the wings, didn't I. You're next in line, Mbauers. :)

Let's get it on, Veronus.

I'm itching to try out my new guy and I have a little time tonight. You wanna face me? I didn't hear back from Bruno yet.

Gah! Ninjaed again! Stupid phone posting, hehe.

Basha, how bout you? You wanna throw down?

Scarab Sages

Also, "Yeeaah Ballistaa!" is ready for non-profit matches, if you approve the statblock, Master.
Though he is Arena legal as far as I can tell so he could be a combatant... Technically.

BASHA just level'd YAY

He can fight Shigeharu if you want but he needs to get updated first.Alternatively your new 3rd level guy can fight my new 3rd level guy.Going to introduce him soon...

Sure, just let me know. I'll fight anybody, just want to see how Arian does.

Sweet! Now I can fight Mr.Camel Rider!

I'll need to clarify a few actions with you in game (so as not to give my game away), but apart from that, I'm good to go. Just gotta get the A-ok from Arbiter and alsoooo CONGRATS BASHA! :p

Male Human Sorcerer 3

Arbiter, we could use a ruling in Pit Four. Johnny killed Vatale, but then dropped due to a DoT attack, and left Vatale's mount still standing. So who wins?

Also, is it true that the player who loses initiative can do a full first round instead of a surprise round?

Arbiter should make the final determination on these, but here's what I think:

Who actually died first? Was Johnny able to pull off a CDG or actually kill Vatale before the DoT's took him out? If so, even if the horse is still standing, Johnny should win IMO.

If it's some crazy circumstance where they both went under 0, but neither could fully kill the other one first... um ... I really don't know. either a Draw or the person who bleeds out first, I guess.

Johnny Thunderfist wrote:

Pretty much yes. I disagree with this stance, but the idea is that a person (even if they lose initiative) can Delay their turn and then take it right before their opponent... the idea being that they're Delaying out of hte Surprise round and acting at the top of the 1st Round.

I think with only a single opponent, this is kind of ridiculous. When there's only 2 people, Delaying should immediatley make it their opponent's turn –– meaning that the Delayer effectively loses their turn.

All that said, I did just take advantage of this rule in the previous fight... fat lot of good it did me. :(

Question: is the guided weapon property allowed?

Also : do Wands count as consumables for the 10% rule?

Sleet Storm wrote:

yes. basically charges used are counted against your consumables. so a level one wand takes up 750 of your gear, but each charge used only counts towards 15 gp of your consumable limit per match. not too shabby if you have a little extra gold laying around... ;)

Sleet Storm wrote:

Hmmm. While this was published by Paizo, i believe it was created for 3.5, correct? If this is true, then I'm not comfortable with it's admittance.

Again, this is clearly Jehova's call.

Sleet Storm wrote:

Yes, they are considered consumables. Jehova said above (somewhere) that all wands and ammo have to be purchased in their full capacity increments (wands must be purchased with 50 charges; magical arrows have to be bought in groups of 50). Then, as you use charges or magical ammo in the arena, that price will go against your consumables price.

So, at level 3, you can't even afford a level 1 wand (the cap being 450g). However, at level 4 (where the cap is 825g), you could purchase it and take it into the arena. Then, let's say you used 5 charges. Those 5 charges are worth 15g each, totaling 75g. As long as that plus whatever other consumables you used in the arena didn't eclipse your 412.5g that is 'replenishable', you' be fine to sell all your gear back at full value.

If, however, in that level 4 match, you somehow used 30 charges ('m not even sure how that could happen), your total consumables used from the wand would equal 450g (which is 37.5g over the limit of that which is free to replenish).

At that point, that character would always have a 37.5g penalty to their wealth.

Did that answer the question?

Dang... Elinora answered it faster, better, and more succinctly.

So we cannot have a wand? I thought Shigeharu did cast from a wand...or was it liane..

Basically you can "sell" anything back after the match for what it is worth. And you "recover" 225 gp worth of consumables each match. So if you buy a level 1 wand for 750 gold, and then use 3 charges during a match, you can sell it back after the match for 705 gp. You have used 45 gp of your consumables for the match, which is under the limit and thus reimbursed. So you get the 705 for selling the wand, plus 45 for reimbursement which totals 750 and essentially lets you buy another brand spankin new wand before your nextg match at no penalty.

Male

How long do we wait until your opponent forfeits the match? I'm in Pit 6. I'm not adverse to waiting, but I'm just wondering the rules / etiquette.

Scarab Sages

Technically you have one day or you forfeit your turn, then another day and you forfeit your match. However, if your foe has arranged otherwise with you these rules don't have to stick.
See Arena Freeze in the rules.

Male

Pit 6 - There hasn't been a post since Monday and there was no prior arrangements and nothing stated by him to wait. So I guess I win?

Ultimately that's up to Jehova. But waiting three or four days seems like a long time to ignore a fight.

Then again, maybe something came up in that player's personal life. I'd suggest some patience. It sucks, but no one can officially call it a win but Jehova, anyway.

yeah mine is past the 40 hours mark for me. earlier my opponent was having comp issues, but he has posted under other aliases yesterday and today, so im not sure what the deal is.

Falcon, do you want to just face me in Pit 8? I just want to try out my new guy for laughs and, since you're waiting anyway, why not face me? If Jehova comes on and says our match is invalid or just a practice match or whatever, no worries. I just want to fight! You down?

If not, is ANYBODY down for a fight? Hell, I'll even fight Ballista McGee!

C'mon, I don't even have any weapons? How tough could I be? ;-)

Male

Sounds fine to me. I'll see you in pit 8. I guess we can count this as a challenge match or something.

Male

Actually your level 4, so yeah I'm going to retract that.

Falcon Dragorian wrote:

I kept trying to tell him (hes my bro) that he needed to clarify, and that the reason people didn't want to face him is because Shigeharu is level 4.

He is refering to the new character that he made, who is level 3. So it should be an even match. ;)

Sorry, dbauers is right. I thought I made it more clear.

I made a 3rd level guy named Arian. He's a half-elf, and he's ready to punch you.

So I assume you'll retract your retracting? ;-)

See you in Pit 8, good sir.

I just sent in an equipment adjustment, but otherwise, Gnasher is ready to go again. He needs to get some wins under his belt so he can start playing with the big boys/gals again.

I would fight Gnasher with my new guy--it would be a good fight, IMO, but probably much shorter than our last fight.

After the match with Falcon I'd face you, but I don't know if that would count as two challenges in a row.

How many matches are still going on? I can't look it up right now, but I can check a little later.

We'll have to see. Seems like our Arbiter has been quiet for a couple of days. Hopefully everything is alright.

Okay errybody, who needs a challenge fight put up?

Male Half- Elf Bloodrager (Spelleater) 3| HP 28(34)/28(34) | AC 17(15) -T 11- FF 16 | F +5(+7)/R+2/W+1(+3) | CMB +7(+9)/CMD 18| Init +1 | Perc +8

I'm up for another fight I don't care who.. I just want one that isnt horribly skewed by RNG one way or the other.. also a 19-20 once in my career would be nice to see on my side for something.

I "setup" a match between Arian and Falcon in Pit 8, but that requires your "blessing", so to speak. Shigeharu and BASHA mentioned facing each other, too, but I don't know if BASHA ever updated his guy.

Scarab Sages

Vironius and I, as far as I know.

I'm looking for a level 3 opponent for a challenge match as well.

I'll take a challenge myself.

If its legal to fight 2 official matches against the same opponent, Rikg challenges Shigehaeu.

Challenge accepted!

Side note (as I'm thinking that in this instance if/when I lose, hehe) even though you and I will both be 1-1 at this level, you'll have more VP than I will.

Version 2.0

His Gear isn't done yet but I'll throw him out there anyway.

Meet---Sleepy Pete.My new 3rd level challenger .I'll update BASHA to 4th level tommorow.

EDIT: Anybody who wants a challenge match ,he's your guy.

Version 2.0

Nobody?

Well, then I challenge Arian or ,if he's not available, Gnasher.

Hmm, I know I look like a spaz jumping around looking for an opponent, but as Falcon never responded since I told him I had a third level guy, and you and me have both not had a fight yet, maybe you can jump in in pit 8 instead of Falcon. Pit Master, is this ok?

Version 2.0

Would be ok with me. I'll check back tomorrow.

Yea we do Bruno. :-)

Version 2.0

Rolled initiative in Pit 8.Ready when you are mbauers.

Cool, I took my turn. You're up!

Back from a wedding so Jezebel is good for a match if anyone wants to go.

I'd like to petition a house-rule be instigated.

I'd suggest that Diehard function the same against both lethal and nonlethal damage. It's ridiculous that 1 point of nonlethal makes a Diehard combatant unconscious when the Diehard combatant would simply shrug off that same point of damage were it lethal.

Version 2.0

"Sleepy Pete nods his head in approvement."
I think this is worth a general errata or FAQ question.

Both of my characters use nonlethal damage, neither of them use Diehard, and I'd support that rule.

I also have another minor rules proposal for the arena--since the person who goes second can delay until Round 1 and get a full complement of actions, I propose that if the first player chooses to delay until Round 1 (to get a full complement of actions), that player should count as NOT flat-footed during Player Two's surprise round. Like I said, minor rule, but could be important.

any level 3 people with 6 rep points want a challenge match? i figure that way, no matter who wins, someone will get to level 4 before the next randomization.
