Round 3 cont.

Rohan moves to counter the warchief's obvious intent, being more successful as a roadblock than as an attacker, as Pimpernell steps back and drops a sound burst spell behind the crowd of foes in the rear in an attempt to ease the congestion there, with some rather impressive results. Both of the goblin dogs in the trophy room and the goblin beside them are all severely damaged, and several of them are clearly stunned by the noise. Copper successfully takes a good chunk out of the goblin in front of him, easily bypassing all of the creature's defenses, and Talon is able to finish off the remaining dog in the hallway before collapsing into unconsciousness.

The goblin on Copper attacks the small dragon, but once again hits nothing but air as his attack is wildly off the mark; at this point, it's almost like he's not even really trying, but simply putting on a show so that the chief doesn't have him killed later, assuming there is a later. As Zelladanyia launches another arrow at the chief which goes wide as she works to avoid hitting Rohan, a couple of the more alert guards emerge from the sleeping chambers, though they don't seem particularly inspired to move quickly, especially after Pimpernell's sound burst. The goblin warchanter continues his bizarre screamings as he launches a particularly nasty and dirty invective at the summoner so silly that part of Rohan just wants to laugh hysterically at the insane creature (casting hideous laughter (DC 14 to resist)); that done, the chanter retreats to what appears to be a safer corner of the room. The one goblin dog that remains unstunned also happens to be standing right by the door the dogs originally appeared in, and without any guidance or input from any goblins, and no immediate target, decides to return to it's lunch.

Top of Round 3
Krojun finishes off the stunned goblin commando as Elton's magic missile causes the warchanter to drop to his knees, though he is still able to keep chanting, if only barely. Meanwhile, the warchief, after assessing the situation, smiles at Rohan as he opens the door, and prods his mount through it and down a hallway. A few seconds later, Krojun hears something coming towards the door the goblin dogs emerged from that is distinctly not goblin dog, but rather more like sticky feet on grass. In the meantime, Pimpernell is able to restore much of Talon's strengh, though the rogue is still lying on the ground prone in front of the stunned goblin dog.

Round 4 cont.
The small dragon startles the goblin commando by going after the warchanter, who is easily dropped, and the feeble attempt to strike at the dragon matches his earlier attempts. Meanwhile Rohan pursues the warchief, and though is able to catch up, is unable to strike as the distance is simply to great; he does, however, discover a courtyard open to the sky. Tenacious clumps of partially trampled grass grow fitfully here and there in the hard-packed earth, in places stained with blood or scratched with furrows. To the north, what appear to be two dead goblins, their heads crushed in by something heavy, lie in the dirt by a door, their ripening bodies covered with flies. The door, which appears to open up to some kind of outhouse, has been nailed shut, and additional boards have been nailed over these nails. The door itself is cracked and splintered in places. He also finds a heavily wounded goblin dog, who comes over to protect the chief, though his attack is foiled by the bit of horse leg still dangling in his mouth as he hurries over. Meanwhile, back in the main fray, Talon tries to take out the remaining goblin dog there without success; fortunately for him, the return counter strike from the goblin dog is equally effective as it tries to recover it's full senses.

The one remaining commando follows after his chief, avoiding the magic user very carefully, while Zelladanyia greases the hallway leading to the barracks room, which causes one of the goblins to fall on it's rear. The other guard (and these look like standard goblin conscripts, unlike the actual warrior types you've been fighting thus far), manages to keep his footing and moves forward just enough to attack Krojun, but his balance is still off enough that his attack doesn't come close to missing. The goblins behind the prone goblin kick and scream at their companion, but do not try to step over or around him. Meanwhile from the other side of the trophy room, the other set of double doors opens and two more standard goblin guards appear. One of them moves to cover the exit door as he pulls out a bow; the other simply steps into the room as he also pulls out a bow.

Meanwhile, in the courtyard, Rohan tries to take down the gecko, and would have succeeded, but the warchief easily deflects the blow from his saddle. The warchief just smiles as he looks at the summoner, and suddenly charges forward, easily bringing his shortsword to bear on the summoner as the gecko charges past, dealing 8 points of damage; looking at the ground, Rohan thinks this is probably not the first time that the warchief has done this in this courtyard.

Oops. It should be 22/30.

As Copper moves to pin down the mounted warchief, the goblin dog tries to take a bite out of the dragon, but forgets he still has that horse leg in his mouth, and ends up smacking himself with it as he tries to quickly lunge at the dragon. The remaining goblin commando charges forward to engage Rohan, but even with the momentum of his movement, he's still lucky to just barely nick the outer shell of the summoner's hide armor.

Waiting on Talon; Krojun, if you let me know which of the two available poor goblins you plan on slaying this round, I can wrap this round up after Talon posts.

Round 6 end

Talon is able to get up and stare down one of the goblin archers, though he can't attack, to which the goblin responds by going full defensive as he drops his bow and pulls out his blade in his best attempt at a defensive stance. The other goblin archer takes a shot at Krojun before is he mowed down by the Shoanti. None of the other goblin guards on the other side of the grease seem overly concerned about getting engaged in the fight and seem to be focused on arguing amongst themselves. Meanwhile in the courtyard, Zelladanyia is able to reach the doorway and just barely get her arrow past the chief's armor into his hide, which causes another massive howl from him; he's still looking pretty tough, but the blood stains on his armor are definitely starting to be easily visible. Back in the courtyard, the goblin dog finally takes the time to drop the food in his mouth before lashing out at Rohan, but his teeth are unable to penetrate the summoner's armor.

The chief is able to deflect one blow away from his mount, but Rohan's spear attack comes too fast for him to react and the mount suffers a major wound, and it takes Ripnugget all he has to keep Stickfoot from throwing him off; Stickfoot is still alive, but it doesn't look like it would take much for him to drop. Unfortunately for Rohan, the opening he left for the dog was too big, and the dog is able to catch a vulnerable ankle long enough to inflict 4 points of damage. The goblin commando is less successful and and his quick blow lacks the power needed to punch through the armor. Copper is unable to land the killing blow on the gecko as the dragon can't react fast enough to the gecko's sudden convulsions from his friend's blow.

Talon strikes hard at the goblin, but is unable to get past the parrys the desperate creature returns with.

Waiting on Pimpernell.

Going to wrap this up as the party has nothing left but mopping up at this point.

As Zelladanyia and Krojun try unsuccessfully to take out the chief and his mount, Elton moves into the courtyard and blasts the gecko with a magic missile, causing it to drop. Ripnugget is able to land on his feet, but his strike at the dragon in front of him goes wide as the party closes in on him and finishes him off. The remaining commando takes advantage of the distraction provided by the chief's final struggle to flee as silence descends on the courtyard. Back in the trophy room, Talon is able to finish off the goblin he's standing over as the other goblins make a break for the door out of the building as soon as they see all but one of your party enter the courtyard; it takes a while, but unless they are actively stopped, they all leave without attempting to engage the party. As silence descends on the compound, you are able to see the outbuilding with the barred door shake a bit and hear muffled sounds as whatever is inside it is clearly wanting out as it reacts to the sounds of battle.

Sounds good.

"Well fought everyone", Krojun says aloud as he struggles to catch his breath. 6 rounds of fatigue.

"Although I'd hoped the Chief would accept our offer of aid, this end will work just as well. The goblins will not dare move against us with their leader slain. How are everyone's wounds?"

The big shoanti takes a moment to examine his own shallow dogslicer cut.

Down 6. We should be good to heal up with wand charges. I think Krojun handed off the wand to Pimpernell.
