"Well, there goes negotiations." Rohan casts a defensive spell, hands glowing with a soft blue light. He looks to Zellara. "May I?" If given the go ahead, he lays a hand on the bard's shoulder. She feels serenity as if nothing bad can happen. He then draws his weapon as he prepares for combat.
Protection From Evil. 3 minutes

Zelladanyia |

Oh geez, so much for attempting to negotiate.
Zella gives Rohan a slightly confused nod as he asks for permission to lay a glowing hand upon her shoulder. I wonder what spell he wishes to put upon me?
Zella then draws her bow and lets an arrow fly towards the goblin bard.

Surprise Round
As Pimpernell is almost past the guards, the warchanter whip out a horn and blows it loudly as Warchief Ripnugget leaps onto his pet gecko. The guards immediately strike at Pimpernell and Krojun; The swing on the massive Shoanti is wide, but one of the blows is a solid hit, dealing 4 points of damage. In back, Talon hears one of the smaller doors open and two more of the well armed guards appear, blocking the party into the narrow hallway.
Copper, Krojun, and Pimpernell can all act in the surprise round after the goblins; Pimpernell, if you want to cast a spell, you will need to make a concentration check factoring in the damage taken.

Copper will keep the same action and just do it as part of a partial charge. His target will be the warchanter. I'm on my phone so I can't see the map, but if he has to provoke, he'll go for someone else.

Pimpernell Nimblefingers |

That four points for damage was supposed to be on Pimpernell, but at this point I'm just going to say the guard missed and move on, as that was my fault for not being clearer.
I am fine with taking the four damage. Sorry I jumped ahead on the combat earlier.

The Voice of Wisdom |

A few of the party members are able to react as the combat begins in earnest. The goblin commandos manage to stay on their feet, but are none too thrilled about having nowhere to go as the small dragon steps forward and tries unsuccessfully to trip one of them. Meanwhile, in the rear, Talon takes 5 damage as the warriors trying to enclose the party swing at him. The warchief slaps Stickfoot and sticks Pimpernell in the back for 10 points of damage as the gecko surges forward.

Sorry about the delay; my work schedule is a bit unpredictable on weekends. Pimpernell, I did take into account the full defense, and he still hit you rather easily this time; I hadn't caught the part where you moved, and that does make a difference, as he would not have enough room to use his feats to get double damage from his shortsword, so you are fully healed at this point. As for not seeing the rolls, I'm moving that part to the discussion thread so as not to interrupt the flow of posts here. Talon, I'll let you use the original set of rolls to make up for the confusion at the start.
The warchief scowls as the cleric steps behind a pillar and heals himself, "No fair cheating; I'll have your head for that." As Rohan casts a spell and Copper tries unsuccessfully to slash at one of the creatures on him, Talon drops one of the foes that tried to hit them from behind. Meanwhile the warriors in the throne room swing at their targets, with both Copper and Krojun takes some blows (2 and 6 damage respectively).

The Voice of Wisdom |

Round 1 end
Even with the advantage of the soft cover of Zelladanyia's allies, her shot is true, and the goblin bard is hit hard. He is barely able to cast a healing spell on himself, but even after that, he still is not looking like he's in the best of shape. A bunch of goblin dogs close in on the rear of the party completely blocking any movement out of the hallway back to the trophy room, but are unable to attack due to the distance they had to move. Krojun easily cuts down the goblin that damaged him.
That's the end of round 1. Elton is up for the top of round 2, and staring down a goblin dog who came to say hello.

Elton Thistledown |

Elton is "staring down" a goblin dog? Could you please be more specific? Is the dog in the square immediately under Elton on the map - i.e. in melee range? If not, where is the dog? If it is there, did it move into that space without provoking an AoO from Talon?
How many goblin dogs is "a bunch"? And where are they coming from?
I'm relatively ambivalent about not using maps, but I do need locations and numbers of enemies. :)

Elton Thistledown |

Just one action, same regardless.

Round 2 start
As Elton moves away from the goblin dogs, one of which is slightly wounded by Talon as it presses forward as the rogue is able to just get his blade through the creature's hide, the remaining warrior in the trophy room tries to strike at the half elf, but is thrown off balance by the surge of the goblin dogs, and almost drops his blade in his vain attempt to slash at air. The warchief does not press his attack on the halfling cleric, but rather backs off, trying to set up a charge lane as he just smiles wickedly at his prey.

The Voice of Wisdom |

Sorry about the delay. The blizzard last night made things rather interesting to say the least.
Round 2 cont.
The goblins are startled as the summoner charges forward to engage the chief, who is very sour faced about that particular development, despite the fact that the summoner's spear comes up short of even touching armor; the warriors try to strike at him, but don't penetrate the armor as Rohan rushes past. As Copper tries futilely once more to strike at the goblin in front of him, Talon cuts down the goblin dog as Pimpernell retreats back to the party area (I put you in M15 as M16 puts you in the stairwell.) The goblin warriors on Krojun and Copper are completely ineffective as they swing wildly, hitting nothing but air.
Talon, in the rear, hears the door to barracks banging, and after a bit of this, sees a couple of groggy eyed goblins starting to emerge as they try to figure out what is going on. Meanwhile, Zelladanyia annoys the chief even further by somehow barely finding the weak point in the his armor, and burying her arrow in it for a significant amount of damage, though he isn't showing signs of being massively hurt just yet.
The warchanter starts his own chant, trying to compete with the shoanti, though to your ears, it sounds more like shrill screaming than anything particularly inspirational.
The goblin dogs continue to try to smother the rear of the party. The two by the rogue continue to make him their target; one bite is snagged by the armor, while a second catches the open wrist and causes Talon to wince hard and almost drop unconscious as the teeth bury themselves in his flesh. The third dog (which will provoke an AOO from Talon as it moves past him) lashes out at Zelladanyia, hitting without too much difficulty, even with the magic surrounding her, doing 7 points of damage in the process.

Round 3
As Krojun drops yet another goblin, Elton drops his grease spell and moves into the room. With things in the rear well under control, the remaining goblin there goes full defensive and lets the goblin dogs do all the hard work. Warchief Ripnugget, seeing the grease disappear promptly moves to take advantage of the new charge lane that has presented itself; it's becoming quite clear that for all his bluster, he prefers to let his minions do the bleeding and hard work for him when it comes to a real fight.
