With the immediate threat handled, Krojun takes a moment to tear a strip from the tablecloth he'd previously been dining on. With practiced ease, the big Shoanti ties the cloth as a bandage around his wounded forearm.

"Is everyone alright?" he calls out in a bass shout.

With the last goblin down, you have a chance to stop and take in what just happened. On the plus side, actual damage seems rather limited; everything is just a big mess. Unfortunately, before you get a chance to start cleaning things up, someone cries out and your attention is drawn to the cathedral where two more groups of goblins have appeared from the back. Most of these are carrying torches, along with crossbows and the apparently standard issue "blades" made from trash metal. Behind each group of three of these is another goblin that appears to be a sergeant type, who are carrying whips in addition their other weapons. As they hit the square, both sergeants also prove to be "bards" as they nearly simultaneously break out into "song." Fortunately the brief calm was enough to get most people out of the way, and the square is now clear enough that ranged attacks are no longer a problem.

Round 6

Magnhildr feels numb from the adrenaline rush coursing through her veins for a few moments after the fight. She stands there looking around, and then she spots them. A couple of groups of goblins round the cathedral with torches.

"Oh great. More gobbos."

She rushes forward to met them drawing her heavy shield as she rushes in.

"SING ALL YOU WISH, GOBLINS! NONE SHALL REMEMBER YOU BUT IN SONGS OF OUR GLORY!"

Charge! AC stays at 16 due to -2 from charge being negated from +2 from the shield.

Round 6

While they may not be the sea serpents and pirates he'd been used to fighting, these goblins were a challenge for their numbers if not anything else. This becomes very clear as more show up near the catheral. He runs down the other group of goblins that Magnhlidr doesn't and tries to impale one of them with his weapon.

Need to take out the singers.

Morstralla dodges and weaves levelling a spear at one of the singers as she moves forward towards him. "Enough of that racket, squealer!"

That just makes him "sing" louder, which of course, causes the other to do the same.

With the final goblin downed Talon is delighted as he looks over at where he was sitting, and despite most of the scene being upturned and smashed, he sees his ale , still half full sitting nicely where he left it. He walks over and pulls a deep swig only to be alerted to the presence of more goblins by their singing and the light of their torches.

Round 6, Goblins

Though the northern barbarian is able to severely wound one of the goblins, it does not immediately drop. These are clearly not the same type of goblin as the first batch. The torch wielders drop their torches all immediately try to burn the barbarian and the dwarf into submission as the sergeant bard tries to trip the barbarian with his whip, but the shield catches it at the last second. All of the pyros manage to miss rather spectacularly, with one dropping his torch directly on his foot, burning his toe as he squeals in pain.

The southern group is a bit smarter and changes to their dogslicers, and this sergeant bard switches to his crossbow and steps back as he fires an arrow at Talon, easily finding an opening that does 3 damage to the half-elf. One of the two remaining pyros focuses on Talon while the other engages the small dragon. The one on Talon misses, apparently more scared of the bolt flying past him than the half elf. The one attacking Copper is equally unsuccessful, though neither are as bad the goblins in the other group.

Both goblin bards simply chant louder as the party taunts them.

I'm going to assume that Morstralla did a channel energy in the interim rounds and healed everyone back to full.

It looks like Copper and Wyren already posted their actions for this turn. That would mean we're back at the top of the init.

I'll treat the threat as an aid another of sorts to Hosk's demoralize attempt.

Hosk, who has by this time, closed in on the same group, with his carving knife and mug of death, replies "Too stringy if you cook them that way. Much better to boil their flesh until the skin falls away, drain the blood out, and serve the remaining mush as pudding to their fellow goblins, using the skin for a bowl, and the blood as a drink to go with it." This man clearly has thought long and hard about how to properly torture goblins, and his hate is strong enough that most of the local goblins know well his reputation. Still, knowing if it and experiencing it are two different things, and the chanting goblin, while he doesn't stop, definitely seems to cringe and the strength behind his singing is significantly less.

Forgive the overly wrought prose. Just trying to add a little flavor

Magnhildr laughs at the goblins attempts to burn her. Her eyes glow with blue-white fire and her breath comes out in puffs of mist as the air around her takes a chill. A halo shaped like a range of mountains forms above her head.

"Oh stakkars små grønne nisser, du plukket din kamp dårlig denne kvelden."

Then she lays into them.

Round 7, Goblins

With the help of his small companion and the thundering voice of the Shoanti, Rohan is able to just find an opening in the goblin's defenses and kill one of the bards. Talon, even with the flank from Rohan is unable to get past his target's armor. Rohan and Talon both get attacked, though it's clear that it's out of desperation more than desire for battle. Rohan takes two more of damage; Talon is almost dropped to the ground as his attacker finds the same weak spot in the same knee, taking 5 points of damage from the blow.

Too busy helping Hosk shake the bard's confidence, Morstralla's strike bounces off the armor as Magnhlidr manages to continue to hold the attention of the pyros, dropping her original target comfortably. The sergeant bard is clearly not wanting to be there, but unwilling to show cowardice in front of his troops, lashes out at Hosk with his whip, and catches the somewhat drunken man somewhat off guard, knocking him almost prone before the man stops himself from falling straight down and curses the foul beast. Magnhlidr continues to be focus of the remaining goblins. She takes two blows, and six damage, and one of them would have been more serious if the blade hadn't got caught on the armor.

Perhaps write a book about your great exploits that led you to be chosen for the position you are in today. Perhaps get a diviner to ascertain your name to make the torture complete." The goblin cringes in absolute terror, but doesn't run away quite yet. Meanwhile, Wyran and Morstralla continue to hound the remaining pyro, but are unable to drop it.

On the south side, things are going a bit rougher. Rohan is unable to get past the goblin's shield, even with the help of the dragon.

Both Mags and Talon already posted their round 8 actions. Although Talon mislabeled his.

That's what I get for not eating breakfast first.

As Magnhlidr does a good job splitting a nearby chair, and Talon falls back to lick his wounds, the one remaining pyro takes off for the north gate. Sergeant or not, he has no interest in sticking around and seeing how this turns out. Ironically, the sergeant bard isn't far behind, also having had more than enough for one night's worth of combat.

On the south side, the remaining pyros are confident in their abilities despite the loss of their leader, and are happily oblivious to the fate of the northern squad, so they fight on, splitting up to take on the summoner and the dragon; their confidence is rewarded as one lands a critical blow on Rohan and the blow on the dragon falls just short of one.

Her charge brings her low to the ground, just at the right height to lop off a goblin's head.

Okay I think that mops up this group, If it does, Mags quits raging and is fatigued for the next 4 rounds.

With the last of the goblins dropped, you hope you finally have at least a few minutes to recover, and the initial prognosis is good. You are able to get a full assessment of the situation in the square without any immediate disturbance. The servants are just looking at you all with the awe abundant in their faces as they start to clean up. Hosk looks longingly after the retreating goblins, but decides to let them live in their cowardice so that they can spread the story of the terror inflicted here upon their wretched race amongst their kin. A few townsfolks poke their heads out of the windows and doors surrounding the square as silence falls upon the square for the first time in at least a day.

You are out of combat rounds now, and have about a couple of minutes to work with as you heal and secure the square from further intrusions.

Krojun helps steady Magnhlidr as she comes down from her battle-driven fury.

"Well done, everyone", the mighty Shoanti says. "Do what you can to aid the injured. We must regroup. I have a feeling this night is not over."

Krojun discards his battered club for a fresh one.

"Have the goblins laid siege to Sandpoint like this before?", he asks aloud for anyone that might know.

"The goblins are small and canny. Could they have gotten this farm into town under stealth?"
