Frostine looks around, "Is everyone alright to head back to the sprites, or do we need a moment?"

Jettar called out, "Goldi, I can use some assistance. I'll take care of the young one, you heal Thorgr." Not wasting any time, he waved his hand over the warriors wounds.

"Thanks," Arvel says to Jettar. "It wasn't really dire."

The cleric steps up. "Let your friend save her spells. I can handle healing Thorgr."

Though Thorgr's wounds close, he is still hurting a little. "That'll do. I can sleep the rest off. I guess we're ready to go."

Frostine smiles and falls into step next to Thorgr, "Are you sure you're alright? You and your men were very brave back there. Sorry I couldn't be more useful...I guess I still need a bit of practice." She turns to look at Elli, "Are you alright? It looked like they were all over you as well."

She looks back up at Thorgr and then quickly away as she feels a slight warmth spread through her cheeks.


"Yeah, I'm alright," Thorgr reassures Frostine. "It was nothing to help you out. In a strange place, it's better to find the trouble before it finds you."

She nods, "Yeah, I'd have to agree there. I wouldn't want those things getting to the encampment and hurting people. It'll be a while before they're able to work their way outta there anyways, so we have time to go back and warn the others. We can set up perimeter watches around the encampment and stuff so that we're prepared for whenever they do finally show up. Should probably have a couple people up in the trees surrounding the encampment to keep an eye out for trouble. If we know what's coming, that will help us be better prepared too. Right?" She looks up at Thorgr, covering her eyes from the glare of the sun.


"True," Thorgr says, heading back to the opening.

She nods as she walks back with them and looks down to keep her eyes out of the sun.

Sigrdrífa is quite entertained by the little entourage orbiting her head as they make their way out of the cave.

Watching the sprites flit about Sig's head she can't help but giggle slightly, "Aren't they just lovely? They're just so....pretty and delicate."

You make your way out of the cave and back to the other sprites. A din of cheers is heard throughout the mushroom forest. The sprites bring you a couple of old and dirty trinkets they found as tokens of their gratitude. They promise to let you know if the kobolds come out and, if you need anything, they will do their best to assist you.

Loot:
An old medallion that appears to be made out of silver and a ring that appears to have a magical aura about it.

after the battle Goldi puts her sling away, convinced she made a difference, but looking things over, other than talking to Frosty, she really did nothing.

she was about to lend some healing to Frosty's boyfriend but it seemed that was well taken care of as well.

Well looks like your work is done here, what do we do now? she asks as they lead the sprites back to their home.

Frostine puts an arm around Goldi and gives her a hug before continuing on. Standing she says, "Well, now we go back to camp and report what we found." Leaning down to speak quietly to Goldi she asks, "Could you check on Eleanor for me? Just maybe see if she's okay or needs any healing? She and Umbra were surrounded by those creeps and I couldn't get to her quick enough. I think they might have gotten her in a couple places. So, just check on her....please?" She stands back up smiling at the others and then the Sprites, "Okay little friends, glad we could help. Just be careful and try not to get caught again. If we know when they break free, we can stop them from hurting you or anyone else again. We need to get back to camp now, thank you for the gifts." Frostine nods and waves goodbye to the Sprites as they head back to camp.

Despite having more than a few spear holes in her clothes Eleanor has but a scratch on her. She wipes the blood from her knuckles as the others commune with the winged sprites.


"Yes, Frostine's right. We'd better get back to camp and report this to the lieutenant," Thorgr says.

Even though she feels she didn't do much to help in the actual fight, she smiles anyways as they head back towards the base camp.


The lieutenant looks to the two groups as you return to the camp. Many tents have been set up since you left. "Well, find anything?"

Frostine nods her head, "Yup...some sprites and a den of Kobolds. Between our two groups we killed all but one of the first seventeen or so of them. Thorgr was quite helpful when it came to communicating with them. We freed the sprites the Kobolds had locked up and trapped the remaining Kobolds in one of their tunnels behind a wall of ice. It should hold them for a while, but we probably need to set up perimeter watches and post a couple people in the surrounding trees to keep an eye out for trouble. Since we saved the sprites they said they would alert us to any danger and help us where they can." She looks over at Thorgr for a minute, "Was that about it? I'm not forgetting anything am I?"


"I think that about covers it," Thorgr grins.

"Kobolds...well, looks like it won't be a pleasant stay here," Micah says after a moment. "I'll get some people on it."

"We found some weapons and armor for some of the smaller folk around here," Thorgr says.

"Great! Just set it next to the other supplies," Micah says.

She twirls some hair in her fingers as she seems to be thinking about something. Looking at Lieutenant Micah she asks, "So, do you need us to do anything else right now? If not I should probably practice a bit with this ice crap so I'm more useful next time." She looks down slightly and pretends to look at her nails.


Micah gives Frostine a smile. "I think you've done enough for today. Thank you."

She gives a slight nod of her head, but doesn't really look up at him. "Okay then...I'll just be over there, by the trees if anyone needs something." Frostine turns from the Lieutenant and starts to walk towards a couple of trees where she can sit and concentrate on trying to understand her....abilities better.

She picks up leaves and flowers off of the ground as she goes. Sitting down in front of one of the trees she closes her eyes to try and regain some of her focus before starting to practice her control issues. She would just have to learn how to better control it, she just had to. Otherwise, what good was she in battle. She could use ice when she was able to concentrate on it, but she needed to be able to count on it during the heat of battle as well.

Putting her hands down on the ground in front of her, she starts by feeling what's under her and controlling her breathing. She starts by using a leaf to practice with. It takes her sometime and a few leaves, but she finally manages to barely frost the leaf's outer edge. She moves from leaves to flowers. Starting at the stem, she dusts the flower with a light frost before turning it to solid ice.

"Now why can't I have that kind of control in battle?" She asks herself in frustration.


The sun begins to set over the camp. "Cookie", as everyone refers to the half-orc, has set up his mess tent as before, offering a hearty stew to all.

Goldi was wandering around camp, taking in the new sights when she spies frostine sitting alone concentrating on her magic.

She sneaks on up behind her. and watches as she turns some flowers into ice.

suddenly in front of Frostine, several new flowers pop open into full bloom right before her eyes.

she thinks she can hear a small voice behind her, but before she could turn around...

Before she can react to the flowers, undoubtedly the work of her best friend Goldi, Mr. Truffles plop downs in front of her and starts rolling around in the lightly frosted grass in front of her. Relaxing she smiles as she reaches out to rub his belly and the frost on the ground dissipates.

"Hey there Goldi, what are you guys up to?"

Goldi takes a seat beside her friend. nothing much really. just wandering about and saw you here looking a little lost or something, so i thought I would stop by.

She sighs, "Maybe I feel a little lost at the moment. When I sit and concentrate or take my time I can handle the stuff okay...but the minute I'm under a little pressure, or faced with a situation where I really need it to work....I can't get it to do nothin'" She huffs out a breath as she tosses the frozen flower back down onto the ground.

Goldi tries to cheer up her friend, look Frosty, your power lies inside you, it is a part of you, it isn't something that comes from studying wird symbols ar even practicing goofy dace moves and stuff like that, it is natural, and you should just let it flow, naturally.

Goldi stands up, (and still only eye level with a seated Frosty) You are thinking about it too much, you are worrying about hurting things, or others close to you. that worry is exactly what your stumbling block is. here is an idea, think of it as a game, not a combat. and don't worry, you will be safe as long as I'm around, or even your boyfriend too, I am sure he will back you up.[/b]

goldi stops for a moment, I'm rambling again aren't I...Anyway thats why I brought up the skiprocks at the cave. think of it as a game. and just let the magic flow naturally.

besides, I didn't really do anything either back at the cave. I mean I tossed a few rocks, but that was about it.

She sighs as she looks down at the ground, "I'm tryin' to Sugar, really I am...and you're not rambling at all. I guess I am worried about hurting someone with it, maybe that's part of it...but, I can't help how I feel. I'm thinkin' maybe....maybe Elli was right about me. I mean...you know how it was before. Learning to use it wasn't really encouraged...." She stops and looks down at her hands before looking back up at Goldi, "You did do something though, you hit one of them...I saw it. Okay, so you didn't do lots of damage...but, still you at least hit it and you were farther away than I was. Maybe I am trying too hard, or not hard enough...I can't help but think about it though. What if I do hurt someone accidentally?" Her eyebrows furrowed in thought, she wraps her arms around her legs as she brings them up to her chin and rests her head on them.

She leans slightly into Goldi, "Thanks....listen, I know I've been afraid of it for a long time...but I'm trying to get a better feel for it. It's just gonna take some time and practice. Even though I was born this way....it's not something that's ever been natural to me. It was always something scary, something bad that I wasn't supposed to do. Well...you know how it was. I just have to be patient and calm and try not to let it get to me right?" She nods her head as if deciding something as she rubs Mr. Truffles belly again. Looking over at Goldi she says, "The smells coming from the tent are pretty good and I bet Mr. Truffles would like some lunch too. Wanna come with me to see what they have cookin' today?" She uncurls herself and stands up while holding out a hand to Goldi.

Goldi can't help but smile when Frosty looks at her that way, and even if frosty wasn't doing better, Goldi would always believe she was doing better.

You are doing great. she reassured her.

Goldi only half listened to Frosty go on, but she knew every word she said. Of course came the mention of food.

you are asking a halfling if she's hungry? That's like wondering if Ellie is cranky she says with a laugh. and Goldi trots off with frosty to get food.
