As you proceed, the cave becomes a little chillier. The group comes to a small cliff that hands above what appears to be a small community. You see several white lizard creatures milling about, talking in a strange language.

"Draconic...definitely kobolds," Thorgr whispers.

Frostine looks at Thorgr in wonder. In a small soft voice she asks, "So, does that mean you understand that strange language they're talking in?" She looks back over at the strange creatures below them.


"A bit...my uncle taught me," Thorgr replies, trying to tally the number of kobolds. "Appears to be about sixteen of them."

She thinks for a minute, before speaking again in hushed tones. "Well...we told the sprites that we would try to figure out what these creatures are doing with their kin. So, we can't just go down there fists a flyin, laying low anything that moves. So....how should we handle this? Should we try to go in quiet and surprise them, or just charge in and try to leave a couple alive to answer questions? If they're gonna create a problem for the settlement, I'd rather be rid of them or at the very least find out what they're up to."

She nods, "I think that sounds like a good idea. Maybe I and another approach? Like....maybe me and Thorgr since he seems to at least understand a little of what they say....and I can usually talk to things without always evoking a negative response....I could try to talk to them and use Thorgr to interpret?" She looks around, unsure of how her idea for dealing with this situation might sound to the others. Thinking for a moment she looks up to Thorgr, her head cocked slightly to one side with a questioning expression on her face. "What do you think? Wanna give it a try? If they get too hostile I can try to freeze and slow them down to give us time to back up a bit....sorry, I'm not too much of a tactician." Taking a finger she twirls it around one of her locks of hair as she stands there thinking about how to deal best with this situation.

Goldi was in the back of the group fascinated by the formations in the ice caves, after the trek in the snow, this was nothing.

Still her feet were a little cold. she hears the other discussing a possible battle plan. she heads on over to the others tugging at somthing in her mouth.

are you guyth goin tho attath? she tries to say, as a piece of ice is stuck to her tongue.

Frostine covers her mouth to keep from giggling. Looking at Goldi she smiles while holding a finger up to her mouth. Quietly she says, "We're gonna try a less hostile approach first. What did you get yourself into? You sound funny..."

Frostine just shakes her head and bites down on her lip to keep from laughing. Finally feeling under control she looks at Goldi, "Oh Goldi, you're so silly sometimes.....but I wouldn't want it any other way."

Taking a deep breath she looks up at Thorgr, "Well....ready to do this?" She looks at the others, "Lets see if we can get a little closer before doing this. That way if we run into a problem, the rest of you aren't that far off. Sound okay?"

Thorgr shrugs. "I doubt they'll be receptive...but it's worth a shot."

He looks around and finds a small rocky path that leads toward the settlement. He gives Frostine a glance. "Stay near me."

She nods, "No worries there...."


Thorgr takes Frostine's hand while the other rests on the hilt of his sword. He stops a few feet from the settlement. "ہیلو، والوں چھوٹا کر دیا."

Several of the kobolds grab their spears and walk toward Thorgr and Frostine. "تم نے مقدس کی زبان بولتے ہیں?"

Thorgr nods. "ہم چھوٹوں میں جاننا چاہتا ہوں."

The kobolds narrow their eyes. "انہوں نے ہمارے بندوں اور ہماری رات کے کھانے ہر تو اکثر ہیں."

The young man leans toward Frostine. "They say they use the sprites as slaves...and food."

While trying to remain subjective the idea anyone being used in such a manner didn't sit well with her at all, "Is there no where else they can hunt? How would they like it if something all of a sudden decided to make them into slaves and food?"


Thorgr knew the answer to Frostine's question, but asked anyway. "آپ چھوٹوں کو شکار کرنا ضروری ہے?"

The kobolds grip their spears tighter. "وہ آپ کو بھیجا?"

Thorgr nods and turns to Frostine. "They do it because they can. Sprites are easier to pick on."

Thorgr wraps his fingers around the hilt of his sword. "I think that'd be best...we should take a few steps toward the group."

Frostine thinks for a split second before waving her hand in front of the Kobold's faces, dazzling them with brilliant colored lights.

After attempting to slow down at least a couple of the Kobold, Frostine moves closer to the rest of the party. Peeking around the corner she says, "That didn't go very well...I think we're gonna have to do this the old fashioned way."

Eleanor moves deeper into the Kobolds dwelling and attacks with a kick aimed far too high for the shorter lizards.

Thorgr steps in front of Frostine and swings his blade at the kobold that resisted her spell.

Thorgr cuts through the kobold's neck and watches as the lizard creature's head goes flying across the cavern.

The kobolds fly into a rage at Thorgr's vicious attack on their kin. They surround Thorgr and Eleanor and attack with their spears.

The kobolds surrounding the tiefling have little luck in their attacks.

Breathing to maintain her focus, Frostine concentrates on picturing the cold and ice back home as she holds up her hand and stretches it out towards the Kobold that Shadrath had attacked previously.

As she brings her hand up to point at the Kobold she says, "Freeze!"

Well....that didn't work out too great....still learning here.Lol

Not used to being in an actual combat situation where she has to use her magic, her aim is a little off as ice forms on the wall behind the Kobold.

"Oops...guess I'm not ready for that yet." She blushes as she raises her crossbow and prepares for the next attack.

With a slurp and a chomp, Goldi sucks the piece of ice into her mouth and chews it up. with a little shutter and a little brainfreeze, Goldi moves up near the edge of the cliff looking to get a better view.

Frosty, remember skipping rocks at the lake?

she draws her sling shot and takes aim at a baby lizard man.

with a twang the rock flies out striking a kobold.

She looks back at Goldi for a minute before turning her attention back on the immediate threat, "Somewhat...but that was like forever ago. Just keep hittin' em' and I'll try again here shortly, I just need to concentrate a little harder...." She takes a few deep breaths as she prepares to fire.

Crossbow or should I keep trying to better my use of magic? I'm not sure it's the right time to experiment with it...I don't want to hurt anyone. Let's wait and see what the others do first.

Frostine looks a little indecisive and unsure of herself as she looks from her free casting hand to the one holding the crossbow. A look of nervousness crosses her features as she bites down on her lower lip and tries to decide what to do next.

Striding to the edge of the cliff, Sigrdrífa stands boldly staring down on the battle like a Valkyrie, she begins to sing her voice echoing throughout the cavern, taking hold of her companions a resounding fury building in those who surrender to it.

"All this rage, and all this hate,
It burns me deep inside,
And still it is, the only thing, keeping me alive.
Dark ambition within my heart and it is aching to break free
The one true nature of my soul, the giant lives in me."

Inspire rage in all allies who accept. +2 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution and a +1 morale bonus on Will saving throws, but also take a –1 penalty to AC

As Sig began singing, Jettar focused his mind and moved to his companion's side.

The warriors move in, unable to reach a close opponent. The cleric steps next to Sigrdrífa and fires at one of the kobolds harassing Thorgr with his crossbow.

His bolt flies wide, while Goldi's stone finds its mark.

Gonna attack K8 since it's flanking one of the warriors. Frostine raises the crossbow and fires at one of the kobolds attacking Thorgr's companions. Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

She shakes her head as she seems unable to hit anything today. Sighing she reloads the crossbow. C'mon....what's wrong with you? You can do this, just have to keep trying.
