Initiative doesn't change, but Calli did pick up a rank each in Kn. Local and Kn. History (gotta learn what changed while we were dead).
*edit* Profile updated!
Gains
+7 HPs
+1 BAB
+1 All Saves
+5 Skill Points (Acrobatics, Kn. Local, Kn. History, Perception, Perform: Oratory)
Insightful Strike (add Wis modifier instead of Str/Dex to attack rolls & combat maneuvers with Unarmed Strike or monk weapons)
+1 Round/Day on Advice
+1 Use/Day on Stunning Fist
I think that's everything!
Iulia |
Iulia now has:
Knowledge (arcana) +8, Knowledge (history) +8, Knowledge (nature) +8, Knowledge (planes) +8, Knowledge (religion) +5
Sweet-tooth has all of the same at -1 - which would be useful, if I could talk to him about it.
Nebten |
OK, everything looks good on leveling up.
Couple of things:
Kale: your HPs will be at 22. I guess I should have been more clear on HPs per level. You get 1/2 your HD +1. So for a Fighter it would be (10/2)+1= 6. Then add in Con mod & Favorite Class Hp if available.
But, you shortened yourself a Skill point. So go ahead and add that bad boy somewhere.
Iulia: I believe Hex Vulnerability comes from ACG which isn't a legal source. Go ahead and repick your spell.
I'll let the group discuss a bit more over breakfast before typing up your actions. Plus I'm exhausted right now.

I hope all the US folks had a good holiday weekend and that everyone else also had a good weekend! And/or a good PaizoCon if you got to go or spent the weekend following the updates :)
By the way, did we ever get anything on our recruitment post? I saw one or two people seemed interested but they weren't divine-types.
Nebten |
And by popular demand, we have a new nature cleric. Presenting Allllllex AN-ders!
Thank you Kale for reaching out.
So Alex a couple of things on your sheet while I was reviewing it.
I saw you picked up a longsword. Did you switch out a Racial Trait to become proficient? I just want to make sure my Hero Lab is up to date. Also you have no arrows. Those might be important. And what did you pick for your Domain Spell? I saw you had Bless but I wasn't sure if that was from Domain or general list.
I don't know what you had in mind for background, Alex, but to get things moving I'm going to throw you into it on the Gameplay. I hope you don't mind.
Alex Anders |
oops, in my rush to figure out a cleric (first time playing one since I favor rangers and rogues) I skipped over the proficiency they have. will need to change that aspect to a different melee weapon. but I did fix the arrows. the domain spell is bless. should I mark the separation? and no, I didn't have a background in mind after reading the first page of the recruitment section, so I was glad with the way you fit me in.
thank you for having me, everyone! I look forward to having much fun with this. playing campaigns with kale and others in person gave the drive for this since you can get far in person, but the reliance of people being in certain places on time makes it a lot harder for people to assemble for one proper night of gameplay. this way may expand the gameplay timeframe, but at least here it feels like its easier to gather people.

If you're willing to accept the much slower pace and the fact that you're unlikely to finish many games that aren't PFS scenarios or the occasional module due to said slower pace, I feel that PbP is a great way to fit gaming into ones schedule. Of course not all games have the same pace; for example I'm in a Shattered Star game that has been going for a little over a year and 1/2 and I *think* we're finally approaching the end of Book 1. On the other hand, a Carrion Crown game that I'm in finished Book 1 in about 7-8 months so a lot depends on how often people are able and willing to post.
Nebten |
When players, GM'ing & pacing come together, PbP is an excellent format. Especially those who enjoy narrative or expanding on a topic. I tapered back awhile ago. But now with more computer time, I may run some more. Sadly, I don't trust running an AP over PbP with a random pick-up group. But if we comnplete this adventure, I have another one waiting in the wings if everybody wishes... in a year or two. =v)
This is a strange time for our little group. I just got married, so I was slow on my end the last couple of weeks. Now Iulia is going away for business for a week. But we'll work our way through it.
Alex, just another heads up. Everything looks good on your sheet, just keep in mind you are now at Heavy Encumbrance (according to my calculations) so that will affect your speed & Str/Dex based skills.
Alex Anders |
see, heavy encumbrance is what I am trying to avoid. alas I can fix it temporarily by maybe dropping the backpack off somewhere and just carrying the weapons. then again though another solution would be to make the secondary weapon hold more common sense and make it a dagger. but since I changed this to a state that it works, I guess I can wait to fix that when we get back to town
Nebten |
Sure. In combat, it would be a move action to drop your backpack. Just keep in mind you won't have access to anything in it during battle unless you go back for it. So after this battle you can stash the bag in the bushes ;)
But with the armor & weapons, Alex will be at medium encumbrance/slowed speed still.
I once had a wizard who's Strength was so low (Rolled Abilities AD&D 2nd ed) that she droppeD her quarterstaff at the beginning of battle just to move around effectively. I think it was made out of cold iron given by Dwarf lords. It was set up to fight off wolfweres (not werewolves) in future combat and gave bonuses when dealing with dwarves.
Nebten |
OK. So during this adventure, you guys have the opportunity to obtain cohorts. With cohorts, the max size of the party at any time will be 6. Outside of story elements (like Nighttail's revenge on the Blood Vows), the party can elect not to have a cohort adventure with them too. When you gain access to multiple cohorts, the party can decide to switch them in an out as they wish if the party is an an appropriate place to do so (a la computer/Nintendo RPGs)
I will control the cohorts. The cohorts will be taken into account when dividing XP but will also level up with the party at the appropriate benchmarks.
In combat, I will run the cohort as outlined in the module to the best of my abilities. Outside of combat, they will fade into the background unless their expertise is needed. I don't want to overshadow you guys and the challenges presented in the module.
Clear as mud? Any other questions, shoot. And I don't know why the picture of Nighttail & Hak has grass on the floor when you find them in an underground cavern.
Kale Amora |
The leadership feat. It is to get cohorts and you get your level+CHA towards it. Which you can't even take till level 7...
Nebten |
Oh, yah. Well you don't need the Leadership feat for the cohorts presented in this module. I am using the rules used in that feat and under NPC for guidelines on how they will be run.
I probably should have used a different name for them instead of cohort due to the loaded meaning. Couldn't use follower. Comrade? Minion? Peon?
Nebten |
Soooo, folks .... I hate to say this, but I'm leaving you again.
And it will be longer this time. At least 2 weeks, maybe longer. But fear not, a fellow board-mate is willing to continue the module in my absence so we don't loose momentum. He's currently running this module too so he has experience.
GM BPChocobo will take over on July 10th, where I will be flying off to the Final Frontier of Alaska. I think we are going to call this our honeymoon. Or at least tell the hotels that so we get any perks.
GM Black Powder Chocobo |
Hi there! I'll be your backup GM :)
I'm going to try and play this as close to what Nebten's doing to keep things consistent for you, although I will admit that weekends are my slow posting times (wife's been using the computer a lot to study for her PE exam), so bear with me on those days.
Otherwise, I hear there's kobolds to slay and a town to free from small, scaly threats!
