Welcome guys! Interesting group you are, I'll have to ask Nebten about you guys occasionally.

Also GM: Can you remove me from the campaign then so this'll be cleared from my campaigns page? Thanks!

No problem! Hope you enjoyed yourself!

The party descends the narrow shaft, some scrapes and bruising occurring as the larger than Small-sized group reaches the next level. Haruf can see that the tunnels on either side seem to connect to a single larger room with a far more comfortable ceiling height.

GM Dice:

Churgri Percep: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

The distinct sound of casting from a shrill, yippy voice can be heard from the large room

DC 20 Spellcraft:

That sounded like a protection from good spell!

Map updated!

CLW Wand @ Haruf: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Nighttail taps Haruf with her stick, although she then raps it against a wall afterwards. "It's getting low; you guys gotta stop getting hurt!", she surmises as she heads towards the opening. "Bigfoots first!", she calls out.

Kale once again aims well, nearly cleaving the slender kobold in half only moments before Alex releases another arrow that pierces through the last menace, ending it.

"You guys alright?", Nighttail asks as the room becomes quiet without the yips of the assailants.

No notable loot unless you like small spears and matching slings/bullets.

Calli's bolt hits the kobold in the side. Alex's shot would be lethal except for the curtain preventing the arrow from fully penetrating through the kobold, that still staggers from the powerful blow.

@Iulia: You already got Yellow kobold once, so switching to Red, the only one you can target.

Red Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10

Doom falls upon another kobold!

The kobolds continue their assault!

Red kobold spear @ Haruf: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Misfortune: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Damage on hit: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Kobold purple sling @ Alex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Kobold misfortune sling @ Alex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Kobold yellow sling @ Alex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

However Iulia's feeling of dread is now taking its toll. The purple kobold then falls to the ground unconscious.

Round 5/6 Init Order (bold = up)
Haruf (7 damage)
Kale
Alex (3 damage)
Calli (1 damage)

Kobolds x2 (Red-2 damage & misfortune), yellow OK)
Iulia
Nighttail

Yup and you juuust missed it with the 12 :)

Kale misses her swing this time around, and Haruf's aim must be distracted by the pain in his leg, the flurry of attacks missing the kobold.

Round 4/5 Init Order (bold = up)
Haruf (7 damage)
Kale
Alex (3 damage)
Calli (1 damage)

Kobolds x3
Iulia
Nighttail

Kale's aim is better this time and with a satisfying 'thunk', the kobold in front of Haruf now lies dead. Alex blasts again, but he just shoots over the small frames of the kobolds.

Nighttail guards the rear, knowing that the tight passage is already clogged and her presence will not help things out at all. "Finish them off, then we can take the battle to Chief!", she speaks in Common.

The kobolds continue their defense, one charging Haruf to hold him back while the other sling bullets, this time at Alex!

Kobold Red spear @ Haruf: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 1 = 19
Damage on hit: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Kobold Purple sling @ Alex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Kobold Purple misfortune: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Crit misfortune: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Wow

Kobold Yellow sling @ Alex: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 2 = 19
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Seeing the violent death of one of their comrades seems to have stirred the kobolds into a frantic assault. Haruf is hit one, a little blood oozing out of a new stab would in his leg while Alex is conked twice, despite a bit of bad luck placed on one of the kobolds.

Round 4/5 Init Order (bold = up)
Haruf (7 damage)
Kale
Alex (3 damage)
Calli (1 damage)

Kobolds x3
Iulia
Nighttail

Haruf smacks the kobold who barely stands after the blow hits him. The other swings fail to land, though.

Round 3/4 Init Order (bold = up)
Haruf (6 damage)
Kale
Alex

Calli (1 damage)
Kobolds x4 (Green 5 damage & staggered)
Iulia
Nighttail

I did forget to misfortune Yellow kobold, but given the fact I rolled a Nat 1, I guess a reroll wasn't needed. Let's see how Purple does.

Kobold Purple Will @ Iulia: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

More doom and misfortune is cast!

Calli softens up a kobold, but Haruf finishes it off, kobold blood spraying the inside of the little pocket tunnel.

Alex blasts a kobold's head, the small reptilian humanoid slumping to the ground.

The kobolds counterattack, one dropping his sling for a spear as it moves up and stabs at Haruf! The others reform their firing line, aiming now at Nighttail and Hak!

Kobold Green spear @ Haruf: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7
Damage on hit: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Kobold Red sling @ Nighttail: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Kobold Purple sling @ Nighttail: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Kobold Yellow sling @ Hak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Wow... those dice 0_o

The fear of assault leeches into the hearts of the kobold defenders and their aim is similarly affected, sling stones bouncing off of walls and the one charging Haruf nearly tripping over its tiny feet.

Round 3/4 Init Order (bold = up)
Haruf (6 damage)
Kale
Alex
Calli (1 damage)

Kobolds x4
Iulia
Nighttail

You sound like my players in their Dragon Demand, although one PC does have an average roll of 7 at this point...

Kobolds yip in panic as Kale slides her polearm in, but the nimble menaces easily avoid the axehead.

You can attack them through the slits their firing their slings through, but they will get improved cover for +8 AC. Otherwise, that area is a bit of an annoying chokepoint.

The party, going in en masse to overwhelm the kobold defenders, charge into the chamber, sling bullets being hurled against the first few attackers!

Kobold Black sling @ Calli: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Kobold Blue sling @ Calli: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Kobold Green sling @ Haruf: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Kobold Purple sling @ Haruf: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Kobold Red sling @ Alex: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 3 - 4 = 16
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Kobold Yellow sling @ Alex: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 3 - 4 = 2
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Bullets bounce off the walls as well as armor, although poor Haruf gets konked on the head once again.

Iulia spies a kobold yellow from a crack facing her glares menacingly...

Kobold Yellow Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12

A sense of dread doom falls upon him, like he opened a bad Tian Xian fortune cookie.

Round 3 Init Order (bold = up)
Haruf (6 damage)
Kale
Alex
Calli (1 damage)

Kobolds x6
Iulia
Nighttail

Looks like plan accepted! More later today :)

Sure, just get another 9 levels in wizard first :)

I'll say this is the end of round 1, before the kobolds get their initiative. But then it'll be the entire party up, so charging in drinks-a-blazing is fine which will open up to round 2 :)

Calli gives her strategy while the party finishes their analysis of the kobold threat. The kobolds in the chamber do not make any noise, but one can only assume that they are ready to launch another bevy of sling bullets at the next thing to walk in.

[ooc]Give you guys a bit of time to confirm that charging in and trying to overwhelm the kobolds is your plan

Init Order (bold = up)
Haruf (6 damage)
Kale
Alex
Calli (1 damage)

Kobolds x6
Iulia
Nighttail

Yes, first round of combat.

"That is the only way down to the chief's lair.", Nighttail corrects.

Nighttail mutters something under her breath in her native tongue.

Draconic:

"Taint of a goblin! Soon-to-be-ex-Chief had to have people guarding that entrance, too!"

Bah, Paizo ate my post, trying again.

GM Dice:

K Black Percep: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 1 = 24
K Blue Percep: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 - 1 = 12
K Green Percep: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 1 = 21
K Purple Percep: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 1 = 20
K Red Percep: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 1 = 23
K Yellow Percep: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 1 = 24
Haruf Percep: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Haruf sneaks forward, finding the path has 10' deep pits on either side. A curtain of rock filled with various cracks lies to the east, while straight ahead is a hole in the ground with a rope that descends deeper into the darkness.

However, before he can report to the others, the yipping of kobolds is audible behind the rock curtain and a bevy of sling bullets are hurled at him!

Kobold Black sling @ FF Haruf: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Kobold Red sling @ FF Haruf: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 4 = 17
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Kobold Yellow sling @ FF Haruf: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage on hit: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Haruf is struck twice, the bullets causing surprisingly painful welts on the half-orc!

Inits:

Kobolds: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Haruf: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Kale: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Calli: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Iulia: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Alex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Init Order (bold = up)

"Wait. We're almost at the bottom level where Chief will be lurking. Everyone should be in tip-top shape as you bigfoots say.", Nighttail taking a wand and sing it upon Calli and Haruf.

CLW Wand @ Calli: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
CLW Wand @ Haruf: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Assuming the party gave Nighttail all of her equipment back, which includes the lovely heal stick :)

Haruf takes the party farther along the path that seems to circle around as it seems to eventually head north again. To his right, the tunnel turns to a chamber with a comparatively lofty ceiling of twelve feet. The cave floor seeps to drop along a slender pathway, but Haruf cannot see the end of the passage from the intersection.

Up into the new chamber or going around?

Make sure to get souvenirs for your GMs! ;)

Really, just being silly! Have fun and I'll try not to sick a half-dozen dire rats upon you.

To the south! Sorry for the delay!

Also, just to make sure, HP are what's in the profiles correct, so Haruf is currently at 8 and Calli at 12?

Haruf takes the party past Jakul's room. The passage quickly opens up into another chamber with a wooden barricade blocking a path to the west while the tunnel continues around to the southwest. Obvious sounds of scuttled feet and ravenous squeaking can be heard from the other side of the barricade.

"That's the breeding grounds for some new nasty battle rats Chief wanted to raise. They've been harder to manage, so they've been locked here for safekeeping.", Nighttail mentions as she points to the barricade.

Through the barricade or continue southwest? Or back into another tunnel? Or something else interesting and unexpected? :)

Nighttail tries to smile at Haruf's question. "That is the idea; there are enough kobolds upset at the chief's recent actions that with his death, I can take charge of the tribe and return to our ways sans 'dragon'. And for your help, we'll leave your bigfoot village be."

She pauses for a second and wicked smile comes to her face. "But any of them too stupid to realize that the chief should no longer be wouldn't be fit for my tribe, either."

Where to, group? You have paths to the east, west, and south. Nighttail can provide some information if asked, too.

Dot for now! I'll continue tomorrow!

Hi there! I'll be your backup GM :)

I'm going to try and play this as close to what Nebten's doing to keep things consistent for you, although I will admit that weekends are my slow posting times (wife's been using the computer a lot to study for her PE exam), so bear with me on those days.

Otherwise, I hear there's kobolds to slay and a town to free from small, scaly threats!
