I have to use Accursed Hex in the following round, so not many options, otherwise I can't target him again. Octopoid next round.

Keeping singing, Nivian refocuses her mental efforts into a new assault to push her misfortune curse through the Whale's psychic defenses.

Curse of the Crimson Throne Roll20

Botting Baltzar for the round.

This time Nivian's curse of misfortune takes hold of the Whale. Johara continues her hypnotic pattern as Sandman escorts a grindylow off to dreamland. Fargrim's chain, covered in grindylow guts slips ever so slightly and manages to miss the small terror. Baltzar rips and claws at those closing in but after almost getting it's face ripped off, it bobs and weaves more effectively and even stabs her back viciously. Grindylows move in and try to stab and bite Fargrim, but they are too afraid of the swinging chain. The queen lifts her hand and points directly at Fargrim releasing a sliver of ice that flies in his direction but misses and impacts into the cave wall. The Whale, growing hungrier by the second, begins to force his bulk into the small passage. The devilfish, unable to get past the grindylows, lashes out with it's tentacles. A huge and incredibly long tentacle shoots out and smashes into the tunnel wall inches above Sandman's head.

Baltzar takes 7 points of piercing damage.

Sandman and Johara up.

I will Delay until after the Brinewood Queen, but before Whale, then Slumber on Whale. DC 18 Will.

Waiting until the queen was engaged in something else, Sandman set his sights on the creature called Whale.

"Fargim, the big one. Now."

How about a Coup de Grace, assuming Whale takes a nap?

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

On the road and can't see the map at the moment. Will check in tonight - move me if you need to do so to keep the game going!

Curse of the Crimson Throne Roll20

Botting Johara
Knowing that the Sandman meant to change his target, Johara did the same. Stepping into view of the whale, she began a new gentle rocking motion to help the large grindylow take a nap, but despite the curse of ill luck, he manages to resist the effects of the lullaby. The queen pulls out a wand and waves it at the heroes summoning an octopus to fill the gap left by her deceased minions. The octopus immediately sets upon Fargrim, nibbling on him and trying to wrap him up with it's tentacles. Luckily Fargrim has seen enough hentai to know where this is going. Try as it might, the octopus just can't get a grip on the slippery when wet dwarf. Sandman curses the Whale with sweet dreams as try as it might, the big lug just can't keep his eyes open. Rather than falling into the water though, it simply gets stuck in the tunnel where it was. The devilfish angry with its situation lashes out at Sandman again but is unable to make contact with the big Mwangi man.

Fargrim takes 3 points of damage from the octopus.

Thanks - I wound up stuck in traffic for 4 hours and didn't get home until 2 AM!

Seeing that Fargrim is getting held up by the embrace of the octopus, Johara engages in a risky gambit. She switches from her slow swaying lullaby, suddenly spinning, her arms flaring outward and weaving up and down. She pauses a moment, feet together, arms spinning back in to clasp over her body, then slowly bends her knees outward and lowers herself quietly, one hand twisting and coming up over her head as the other pushes outward, still sinuously undulating, to the side. Then she throws her head back and brings her arms back in to wrap around her body and slides them up and down her sides, fingers twitching, as if suggesting tentacles wrapping around her.

Casting unnatural lust on the octopus. DC 15 Will save; the octopus gets a +4 bonus because Johara is not in its normal wheelhouse for molestation (or maybe she is, I don't know). If it fails it will, hopefully, try to move through the party to go all fisherman's wife on her, which will of course provoke a ton of AoOs from the party.

Apparently Johara has also seen enough Hentai to see where this is going and WANTS IT TO GO THAT WAY.

Maybe we should just let it past us and go get popcorn...

Suuuuure, Johara, you keep telling yourself that... LOL! I love the little tidbits you threw in the last post, Many-Faced! I'll hold off on Fargrim's actions until we know what the octopus is going to do, because that will completely change his actions for the round.

You know, it would be a waste if we attack the octopus, if it fails the save it will do nothing except grope Johara this round, we can conveniently deal with it afterwards...sooooo - anybody prepared 'Summon Popcorn'-Cantrip today?

Also holding off for now, since all I can do is misfortune more targets and "cackle", so wouldn't want to target something that dies. Devilfish and Sleepywhale already have it and I cannot re-target queen, so it's mooks now.

Unable to get past the bottleneck, Johara waits for her opportunity.

Delay.

Mother effer. I could have sworn you had to be adjacent to a helpless creature to complete a Coup de Grace and that you could not do it if the target had Cover or Concealment. Also, yes, Fargrim was still in "Adjacent" mode on the dorn-dergar. Soon I can swap as a Swift Action with a feat (Yay!). Either way... the Whale goes down next round!

@Fargrim: Need to be adjancent with a crossbow or the like :) Maybe thats where you got it from, but yeah, no way it could have worked this round regardless-
@GM: Apologies, you did make it clear enough, my mind simply borked out on being entangled
@Johara: We should get you some throwing knifes or something. In block based init delaying after the enemy is skipping a turn. On that note, I also need to finally get that dagger - never got one after I had to murder that orc lady for not giving me the one I picked.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

I know. Unfortunately ranged attacks are not a strength of dervish dancers!

Curse of the Crimson Throne Roll20

Sandman's hex is turned aside by the octopus as Baltzar's claws continue to strike down the grindylow. Fargrim and Nivian both move around the tunnels. The octopus gives Fargrim a goodbye peck as he leaves before vanishing, returning to it's home. The grindylows gang up on Baltzar but being cursed and entangled has stymied their offense. The Whale continues to snore, pinned in place by the tight tunnels. The devilfish keeps trying to wrap it's tentacles around Sandman but the tight corridors and the melee in between them makes it incredibly difficult. The Queen, enraged as Fargrim closes in on the Whale, screams and moves forward to stab the dwarf, landing a devastating strike with her harpoon.

Fargrim takes 33 points of critical harpoon damage from the Brinewood Queen!

Player's Turn - Round 7

Finding herself next to the sleeping Whale, and seeing Fargrim take a serious stab from the "Queen", Nivian shouts out:"Fall back, Fargrim-let's regroup!", before taking aim at one of the creatures eyes with her crossbow.
Coup-de-Grace, Whale: 2d8 ⇒ (1, 8) = 9 DC 19 Fortitude

That's "only" DC 19, but he is still misfortuned. It seems like Fargrim would take an AoO and Sandman has to move, so I'm one of the only one to be able to try and take one. So, taking advantage of the fact I always intantly follow up Hexing with Cackling...I have exactly one round of actions where misfortune should persist allowing me to extend it next round. Can't really see a better use for this one round of actions. Except move next to Fargrim and provoke healing him, allowing him to coup without AoO, but with our luck, she has Combat Reflexes and hits us both...
