Dram conjures a wall of thorny, writhing vines to try and block the Queen's exit and gain the time to get his friends in place and Dirt proceeds to climb down towards the Queen.

TRIGNOTARBS

Brambles erupt around Thlaxia, barring her way, as Dirt starts to scramble ably down the wall.

Far below, Nayce contends with the ravenous larvae.

Double move to K13.

1 shroud on the queen.

Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed

Rev, the Queen won't be marked by me since I couldn't get next to her last round to do so. A minor detail but it may be important at some point. Cheers

TRIGNOTARBS

Nayce - can you shroud something you can't see?

Nayce pounds across the larvae into Amy's waiting arms, his shadowy body weighing almost nothing to the mighty angel.

The Queen finds the scrambling bear a tempting target and seeks the easiest way to attack it. She flies closer and bites hard.

Market gang, how's the leveling up going? I know Cronin and Don are done.

Male Half-elf Assassin 14 / Obsidian Stalker

No, I have to be able to see the target. If I cannot, then no shroud.

Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed

Greeg watched as the Queen flew down into the lower chamber. He sighed, hefted his javelin and hurled it with as much skill as he could muster. As it returned to his hand, he then proceeded to make teh decent into the pit and once again fight the old matriarch.

"Fight on the ground you old Hag!" he called to her as he huffed his way down the side of the hive wall. "All this running around feels more like a kids game than a battle!" he complained, thinking of the little Goliaths playing catch and tag back at home. "Stupd insects" he muttered under his breath.

Attack vs AC with Javelin 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24. Damage 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11.

Athletics to climb down. Roll twice and take best due to natural ability. 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32, 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35

Edit - See, I get high rolls occasionally.....Usaully in non combat or damage situations....but they do come. Rev, if that Athletics is high enough I'll try climbing faster than usual (not sure if the rules support that or not) Cheers

@Greeg - that's a familiar patten. I have a long history of characters rolling horribly in combat and superbly for skill checks. You can't climb faster, unfortunately.

Greeg mutters irritably as he starts climbing down after the errant insect monarch.

"Yes, I know he's not as cuddly as the bear and it isn't as much fun. But I still want you to carry him up there, right now please, if you don't mind." Guldarin pauses for a moment. "I really don't think that would be appropriate, after all you wouldn't do that with your bear now would you?" His eyes widen slightly. "Ah, Nayce, I'm supposed to ask," Amy takes off vertically as Guldarin is speaking, "if you have a fur coat?"

Double move, Amy can carry Nayce 16 squares on a double move, so I think that's 10 up and across to J18

Male Half-elf Assassin 14 / Obsidian Stalker

Thanks for the lift!

If Amy had a mouth, there is no question she would be pouting as she transports Nayce gracefully upwards. Depositing him at a convenient spot for the battle, she awaits further instructions.

Nayce simply looks puzzled. After two adventures together, you have never seen him wear anything other than black leather. You'd as likely find him in a colorful clown suit as a stylish fur...

Paizo flipped out on me and refused to load yesterday.

Dram's flaming hawk flies poised to attack should Thalxia attempt to move. Now surrounded, the trignotarb Queen seems slightly less confident.

Market team - haven't forgotten you. Just sorting out spider innards.

Male Half-elf Assassin 14 / Obsidian Stalker

I haven't been over on this side of the map before. Is the queen off the ground? Is the floor over there higher or lower?

Nayce, this may help:

Side view of Queen's tower

The Queen is flying (she can hover) and is two squares down. Greeg is on the ground. Dirt is one square down the wall.

Male Half-elf Assassin 14 / Obsidian Stalker

Nayce tries to hex the queen with his shadowy arts. Echoing Threat. 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31 vs Will. 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22 psychic damage. At the end of its next turn, the target takes 10 psychic damage if any creatures are within 2 squares of it.

During your next turn, you can teleport a number of squares equal to your Charisma modifier as a minor action. You must end the teleportation closer to the target.

1 shroud on the queen.

Nayce calmly drops a shroud on the Queen and readies himself to teleport next to her. His attack cannot bypass her supreme self-confidence.

Firmly surrounded now, the Queen lashes out at Dirt and moves through the brambles before she turns her attention to Greeg once more.

Takes 13 for moving through wall.

No problem.

Guldarin you are go for transportation.

Male Dwarf Invoker/Divine Philosopher 14

"Ah, Amy, would you mind coming back here and giving me a lift up the wall please."What? No, my beard is not a fake, I... why would you say something like that?" Guldarin sounds rather upset for a moment. "Oh, I see. You want to be sure it won't come off when you lift me by it. That actually sounds as if it would be rather uncomfortable, but if you feel it's really necessary I suppose I could accommodate your wishes. Or yes, I suppose I could struggle up the wall while you stay there and cheer on your furry friend. But I'm going to have to insist, I think. You can watch the fun later."

Double move, Amy to J13

Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed

Greeg continued to climb down, his great strength and affinity for mountainous terrain assisting him in he effert. He leapt the last few feet, drawing his hammer as he did so and swinging with the will of the guardian spirits behind him.

Climbing (roll twice choose best). 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33, 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35

Groping among Aedre's intestines is disgusting, but rewarding. Over the course of her long and predatory life, it is clear that she has eaten quite a number of indigestible objects. Gems glint appealingly from the mess, along with a ring of clear arcane power. It seems to be of high quality dwarven workmanship.

Kagash pokes enthusiastically at the mess and points out a pair of miraculously unspoiled gloves. They shimmer slightly, seeming to radiate a kind go healthful glow. Most unusual of all, it seems that Aedre's interior has constructed something wonderful. As she collapsed, her spinerets made one last effort to save her. Lying beneath her body is a cloak of spidersilk, outstandingly beautiful and much more durable than it seems.

"Hrm. Four treasures. I have heard of these rings," Cronin continues, fingering the dwarf-work. "I think they give such as us kinship to the stones and mountains -- including needing rest less often. Would anyone mind . . .

"But speaking of rest. It has been a taxing day. Kagash, barring further emergency, would you have us returned to our quarters?"

Don looks completely befuddled by the lumps of metal. "Where the hell did this thing eat..." He taps the ore with his dagger, "Platinum?" He leans down to the surely decapitated head of the beast then laughs, "Who'd you eat?"

I'm thinking the healer's gloves for Cronin, and the ring to Kevaras, the mantle'd probably suit me best, but I'm not committed to it.

"This thing..." He gestures to it, "This thing needs to be a trophy or something. You know, make a good knife out of its fangs or something."

Could do that, but the ring has actually been on my wishlist, if Kevaras doesn't feel strongly.

Dirt takes a swing at the retreating Queen and Dram lashes out an attack with water.

Just normal max damage from Dirt as he doesn't have any enhancements to add to it.

Brambles fall away as Dirt claws viciously at the Queen. Dram follows up with a blast of turbulent water and the trignotarb screams. A mind-rending psychic tumuult surrounds her as the stolen secrets of years pour from her, bombarding the companions.

Nayce cannot withstand the queen's psychic outburst. At -7 HP.

Since that is on my turn, do I have to make a death save?

Nayce slumps down, battered by too many secrets and already weakened by his duel with the Savant.

No - start making death saves on your next turn.

Kevaras needs one, Don barely broke a sweat. Rogue luck FTW!
Unless anyone pipes up, I'll take that mantle, and naturally we'll split the cash.

Kagash listens to Cronin's thoughts and yawns involuntarily.

Going with the extended rest notion. Kevaras will be grateful, I'm sure.

In the aftermath of the battle with Aedre and her offspring, celebrations are breaking out around the group as Kagash leads you in triumph to the sleeping quarters. Many oklu now surround the building, but this time with an intent to keep curious citizens away from the new heroes. The atmosphere is decidedly more promising now.

Extended rest and then what?

Impressively large thorax, I'm sure it's very attractive to males, not that you need to be that attractive physically being a queen and all, people in general seem to be attracted to powerful and/or wealthy people no matter how physically attractive they actually are which does lead to some jealousy on the part of the people whose handsomeness is constantly being overlooked in favour of people who have that wealth and power, though of course I don't consider myself particularly handsome of course and come to think of it I'm not really without a certain amount of power, granted of course by the gods which does tend to make relationships a rather one-sided thing when you never know if you're going to be heading half way round the world on a quest you don't really understand not that that happens to me a lot, not more than once or twice a year, hardly anything at all, now where's my rod I need to do some smiting."

He nods at Don, his terracotta skin glowing with health following his own rest.
