@Livain: to get to P3 you'll have to move around the tower. Livain's arrows mushroom out into explosions as they strike and damage the ballista. The siege engine remains standing but her crew is destroyed. The Aellar then follows that strike up with more shots that destroy two more soldiers.

Archers come out from cover and out of the tower to attempt to avenge their fallen comrades, some move to man the damaged and burning ballista.

Many of the arrows miss badly, blown aside by gusts of wind or just plain dodged by the skilled skyknights.

DC20 Perception:
Just briefly visible between the clouds swirling about the base of the tower, there is a perch sized for dragons -- a massive landing pad. It would require some fancy flying to get to it, and then there'd be a heck of a fight against ground troops, but it's there.

Edit:@DRA: How far down is the landing pad?

Lin's Perception 12+11=23
Min Hp 49/54

Catching a short glimpse of the possible landing pad, Lin rumbles with righteous anger as she is torn between smashing the tower top defenders or bringing the fight to the soldiers on the pad. Both options sounded good and as she started to mentally relay what she saw to Min she felt his pain explode across the bond as an enemy arrow struck true. {You really should grow some scales or perhaps learn to dodge better~}

Min chuckles as he briefly glances at the arrow protruding out of his thigh, before giving a low whistle as a ballista bolt screams by and arrows deflect off of Lin's scales. {If you know the secret to growing scales then i'm all ears!}

As Min reaches for another cardinal arrow, he nods to Mai and gives him a grim smile. "I'm up for giving them a little hell..."

The distance on the map is updated, 10' squares, so you are currently 60' from the tower, and the landing platform is 60' down. So to do a straight diagonal to the tower is 90' of movement. Still your turn, sir.

Hahahaa, no, no, they're trying to take back Manaus from the Black Dragonflight, so they're at least nominally "the good guys." It's not going to go really well for them unless their dwarven friend can return from the catacombs in the City Under The Mountain with his army in time. We're doing a big 8-person IRL crossover game on Saturday where the two parties will cross paths and help each other out. It's going to be capital-E Epic. Or at least that's plan. :-p

Dolo's fly skill=1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22

Dolo then looks around for any other threats on this peak.

Perception=1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16. Dolo readies an action to cast a spell at anyone seen as a threat here.

@Dolo You can see the other four Red Dragonflight soldiers on this peak are all madly clawing at their eyes, trying to get the glitterdust out so they can fight, but to no avail. On the map, the grey squares are enemies, but they're all blinded. Orange is the ballista on that peak.

Even after being struck with powerful magic the dragonflight soldiers determinedly held the line on the platform, surprised, Min quickly glanced at the newcomers but only spotted the woman unleashing hell as she fired a volley of arrows off in a blur of motion.

With the landing approaching rapidly he reached for an arrow and luckily felt the familiar feel of the cardinal feathers grace his hand before he nocked and fired at the middle trooper on the landing, intent on breaking their formation. As the cardinal arrow screamed towards the unlucky dragonflight soldier he quickly grabbed another couple of arrows and aimed for the soldiers on either side of the middle trooper. Sir Damian has demolished two of the ballistas, and the combined might of the party is proving to be far too much for these mountain troops to handle. Check the key on the map; grey squares are unhurt enemy troops. Red ones wounded. Dark red ones are dead. There are still the four enemy soldiers down on the landing platform, too.

So: on the left mountain peak are three unhurt enemy soldiers, on the right are three wounded, and on the tower there's just the four waiting for Lin down on the landing 'perch' area.

The right mountain peak is now completely cleared of Red Dragonflight soldiers, all that remains are the three poor fools on the left peak, blinded and battered by magical sleet, and the couple wounded soldiers on the tower; one up top, one clinging to life down on the landing perch and looking strangely self-satisfied for one so badly hurt AND outnumbered AND outgunned.

Sir Damian:
You need to get Min out of there; something's wrong. Your training as a soldier allows you to realize that you're yet to see a commander or field marshal in this battle, and you'll just bet that's what's coming out of the tower right now, hence the smug look on that last soldier's face. Min is in danger of walking into a trap.

Min and Livain, y'all are up.

Damian's instincts are going off like warning bells. The Dragonflight must have known have that they would follow, and this is all they'd set up in defense? Damian himself had faced off with an ancient Red and lived. The other Skyknights were equally dangerous (if not as disciplined). What was a few ballistas and archers to them? Why wouldn't there be stiffer resistance and someone there to lead them? The Dragonflight might be chaotic and barbaric, but they weren't stupid.

He shouts over the howling wind, hoping to the get the dragonrider's attention. "Min! Get out of there! It's a trap!" He spurs Keythan, hoping to get close enough to help whenever the Dragonflight springs whatever trap they hoped to pull them into.

Seeing the last soldier on the landing fall over the ledge, Min releases the tension on his bowstring and lowers it so he can better survey the landing before them. Lin lands easily on the landing pads edge and sniffs around as she tries to get a better sense of what is before them. Min smiled as he felt a sense of accomplishment for taking the landing pad from their enemies. A scouts job was to make sure the way was clear and we have done our duty... With a lot of help of course.

Min thinks about the soldiers final act and, barely repressing a shudder, continued to think on it as Lin and him continued looking for any other unseen threats. Lin's confusion slowly leeched through the bond as she communicated silently to him. {Something about that soldiers final act troubles me... I would not go so quietly, nor as arrogantly...}

Min used his free hand to rub Lin's scales thoughtfully. "Neither of us would Lin..." Min was still thinking about it as he called up to Sir Damian. "Landing secure sir! Shall we proceed?" As he awaited a response he put tension back on his bow, he was trying to remain vigilant.

Damian's sudden shout confused Min for a moment before he uttered a curse and quickly leaned against Lin, as she began to turn back to the ledge. Min shouts at Belsarious to hold on as Lin prepares to throw herself off the ledge and away from the possible danger. As she moved toward the edge he looked back and quickly mumbleed to Belsarious through gritted teeth as he kept an eye behind them just as Lin prepared to leap...

"No Matter what Belsarious, you have to survive this, so be ready to abandon us and finish this mission... No matter what happens!"

@DRA: What is the landing like? now that we are close to it and a little more level. Is it open straight into the tower proper itself?

Edit: Since Damian posted 8 seconds before me lol xD, I had to change my post around to reflect Bel, Lin and Min being on the landing. Sorry for the confusion

It's four bars interconnected below the tower, leaving a fair bit of headroom so dragons can land, and the center is hollow so dragons can dive straight down if they want. There are stairs leading up to the tower...

I need to let Livain have her turn before I go on. But if you check the map, you'll see I put you in a different area marked "landing".

Bah. Sir Damian should be posted above, not Sevarkoh. Don't go mixing Star Wars and Pathfinder. It gets weird.

Livain watches warily after hearing Sir Damian's warning. She nocks a backbarb arrow to her bow as she waits.

Ready action to fire at the first threat that comes out of the tower.

"A trap?" Maiathreen mutters as he looks towards the opening.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Lol I know the feeling, I just finished my first 18hr day xD Woo work!

Grrrrr....posted before dinner and it got eaten. Here it is again. >:-(

Suddenly from the opening at the top of the steps, a massive fireball rockets out towards where Min and Belsarious and Lin are standing, exploding in their midst and spreading out to engulf both men and the Silver Dragon Lin in its flaming maw.

At the same time this happens, a winged figure shoots out from the steps and clear of the tower. Spying Sir Damian, it screams in an unholy shriek equal parts draconic roar and torture victim's moaning wail; "CAVALIER! You are a fool to be in this place! We will destroy you as we destroyed the Lionhearts! NOW YOU DIE!" A bead of light streaks out from the creature's finger at blinding speed and explodes into a fireball that engulfs Keythan, Sir Damian, and brave little Brook, who does not scream or cry out, but only ducks down behind his knight, clinging to Keythan's thick fur as the flames wash over him.

I need a DC19 Reflex save from Min, Belsarious, Lin, and Sir Damian.

The creature that launched the fireball at the group on the landing pad flies out and lands opposite them, grinning maniacally like a hungry beast.

These two creatures appear to be twins of some sort. They are both bald and have arcane tattoos covering one side of their head and face. They are mirror images of each other; one has tattoos on his left, the other on his right. Their eyes are the sickly yellow color of jaundice. Both have skin that could be scales, the scales of a red dragon. Waves of arcane energy wash around them, protecting them and halating the air with a malevolent red glow. Their wings are crimson and majestic and terrible; spreading out some 15' or more. They are not terribly tall, though, and are somewhat slim.

In fact, they bear an awful lot of resemblance to Maiathreen and Livain. The four of them could be related.

Round 5
Tomax:
SA: cast fireball at Lin/Min/Bel, Damage 6d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 6, 1, 3) = 26, DC19 reflex for half
MA: fly to opposite side of perch from Lin/Min/Bel
Xamot:
MA: fly out from perch
SA: cast fireball at Damian/Keythan/Brook, Damage 6d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 2, 4, 5) = 18, DC19 reflex for half

Do believe Mai and Dolo are up now, and I know Livain was holding her action for just this sort of thing, yes? :-D
