The Legacy of Marianasu - DM Downrightamazed

Game Master downrightamazed

The great captain Korius Merit, of the Paladine of Izmir, summons a group of warriors of the air to retrieve twelve evil artifacts; the legendary Abominations of the long-dead archmage Marianasu.

Damian shouts to the others in a clear voice. "The mountain to the east, the tall one! Get in formation and head there! That's where they'll head!" He waits for them to take a flanking position around him, with his lance acting as the point of the wedge.

Male DraRid 9 - HP 66/66 AC 23, T 14, Flat 19 - F+7 R+10 W+6 Init +4; Senses: Superior Low-Light Vision (X4), Darkvision 60ft; Per +14

Damian's command was hard to hear over the screaming wind and the turbulence throwing Belsarious, Min and Lin around, as they skimmed so close to the mountainside. Min couldn't help but smile at Damian's persistence, as Lin had already started heading towards wear Belsarious had indicated. As he continued to hold off nocking an arrow, Min couldn't help but notice as Lin rumbled merrily as she began to move slowly into position as Damian had ordered.

{Humans always amaze me with their ability to burn so brightly~} Min was still trying to understand her thoughts as she continued. {He would have been proud to have known that his family's lance would go on to some one of caliber...}

Min sat shocked for a moment, he still reacted to the battle around him but he couldn't help but recall how he had given that lance over only a few days ago now. He gave a low chuckle along with Lin's merry rumbling as he couldn't help but agree with her. {Gods know I was never as good at wielding it as Damian is... The man hits like a avalanche and leaves about as much devastation behind to those foolish enough to test his might. It is no wonder why Captain Merit chose him to lead us.}

{You still need to tell him though... About the duty that comes with wielding that lance, I know that unlike some he will respect the wishes of our fallen leader.}

{Once we slow down again I will tell him, until then it can wait...}

It takes some time for the three of them to get over to Damian's side...

This of course will happen once Dolo does his thing and we get all kinds of shot at by our foes. lol xD BTW loving this so much! And in the mean time i'm playing Battle Stations on face book, its an addicting game and helps pass the time =)

Dolo doesn't even bother with the enemies after hearing the command from Sir Damian. He streaks over near the griffon rider and prepares to quickly follow, aided by the hasted actions.

Lindórievórea blasts down out of the sky and unleashes her freezing breath on the front group of soldiers. Even knowing the silver dragon was coming, the snow is too deep for them to get out of the way and they take the full brunt of the blast; a couple of the wounded perish instantly, the rest are reeling from the blow.

Maiathreen follows this up with another volley of firebolts that finish off the ones Lin wounded and hurt a couple more, their flesh searing and their armor superheating and baking them alive.

And thus the first icy hot patch was created.

Maiathreen nods when he hears and sees Damian. He then flys into position to the right of the cavalier to best position himself for his sword and spells.

The party regroups and streaks off to the east at incredible speed, hastened by Dolo's magic. Many bodies of slain Red Dragonflight soldiers are left in the snow behind them, but no arrows nor magic nor any other form of harrassment follows them out of Crystal Lake Valley. Flying up to avoid the peaks, the party comes across sites that they never knew existed; attached to one peak is a tower of dwarven construction that while still standing, appears long-abandoned, though there is a remarkably well-preserved, if slightly tattered flag flying from its battlement; a blue shield against a field orange, the whole thing trimmed with silver. On the shield is a lion, advancing, clutching a sword in its talon. Still further up in the mountains is a far more startling sight; a tiny complex of buildings, built right into a steep and seemingly impossible-to-reach mountain pass, all covered with snow. There is smoke coming from the chimneys and small, multicolored creatures can be glimpsed flying about.

Finally, as the party ascends to even greater heights, breaking through the cloudline and up into the glorious sun-drenched atmosphere where so few have ever been, the cold beginning to bite harshly into their skin, a light can be seen in the distance. Between the forked stones of the highest peak in the Mana Mountains is a strange tower, either suspended in air or sitting on rock shrouded by cloud. There is a strong light at its top and bridges connecting it tenuously to the rock on either side. It is difficult to tell how much further down it goes. Belsarious points at the tower and shouts out "There! It is there!"

No sooner has he shouted this than Sir Damian yells over the howling mountain winds "Beware, such a tower is sure to be well-defended!" Sure enough, the cavalier appears to be correct as tiny figures can be seen manning ballistas and trebuchets on the nearby rocks and the tower itself. It's a safe bet there are many archers as well, though they can't be seen at this distance. They are all just waiting for the party to get in range.

Ignoring the biting cold of the upper atmosphere, Min tries to figure out who bares that flag as their symbol, as they hold their position in the formation. As he is combing through his memories Lin uses her powerful eyesight to search out any other unseen threats nearby.

Perception: 6 + 11 = 17

Min smiles at the thought of storming an enemy stronghold as some painful memories leech to the surface. He couldn't help but feel some type of poetic justice in the feeling, he was surprised though as the feeling was reciprocated by Lin as she slowly growing more angry as the memory affected her as well.

Min leaned forward as he spoke to her. "Let us repay them for what they have done to us..."

Lin gave a low angry rumble as she laughed. "It can never be repaid... We can only remind them again and again of why they should not attack the innocent while some still draw breath!"

With Damian so far off Min had to yell to be heard over the wind and distance as they streaked across the sky. "Shall we try and take down some of their ballista's Damian? We can try and make a hole, if that is what you desire..." Lin growled approvingly at Min's words. "If only you were smaller Lin what I wouldn't give to meet these bast***s with sword and claw..."

"Indeed! They will rue the day we found them!"

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Min:
Lin does not spy any other threats beyond what you can already see, but the clouds are so near and so thick that anything could be hidden in them.

As for the flag, you recognize it as the banner of the Lionheart Cavaliers, a subset of the cavaliers of the Order of the Shield. The Lionhearts are known as defenders of the downtrodden; friends to the helpless or overmatched. Their order was mostly wiped out 101 years ago in The Nameless War that occurred in what was once Rassnynyankh, between Rass-La and The Frost Kingdom, but pockets of them are still around, here and there.

Why their flag would be stuck in a dwarven tower in such a remote and godforsaken place is utterly beyond you.

Male Human Battle Herald 11

Damian ponders the ballistas and archers. They would surely make any approach quite deadly. He glances at his allies, trying to develop a plan. "Do we have any long-range capability? It would be good if we could pummel their position, giving us some cover as we advance."

Maiathreen looks over to Damian with a strange look in his pale golden serpentine eyes that would freeze the blood of lesser men. "I have a number of spells that I can cast beyond the range of most bows. Though I don't know the range of their ballista."

Min shrugged his shoulders as he called back, somewhat distracted, to Damian. "We are outmatched by their seige weapons alone Sir Damian. We have nothing other then magic that could possibly outdistance their weapons. A direct assault may be our only resort. Lin rumbled merrily as he flushed slightly at her invading his thoughts.

{You want that flag now don't you~}

He looked back at the waving flag and sighed. "A symbol like that deserves to be carried into battle restored anew, not wavering in some lonely outpost waiting to rot away... It may seem foolish but it deserves to be restored in the very least..."

Lin's rumbling grew more and more as Min spoke, she was slowly picking her way through the memories of what he knew of that ancient symbol. It always made her happy to learn something new and amazing, but to know the age of that long ago order and to discover such a relic of a previous century was wonderous indeed. Her previous anger was still slowly simmering as they grew closer to the remote redoubt before them.

{Once we finish with these enemies, we will recover that symbol of ages past. Restoring it would be wonderous although I wish to learn more about their order...}

"So do we want spells to lead the way? Though I have to admit after this fight I will be limited to the simplest of my arcane energies." Maiathreen admits grudgingly rather than let his allies learn of this in the heat of another battle.

Lin shook her massive head ever so slightly at Mai's suggestion. "I commend your courage but to show our hand to the enemy would only lead to your possible death wizard. I suggest we bring the might of us dragons to distract the enemy, our scales are strong enough to withstand their attacks,hopefully we can smash their archers. Then while they are distracted you can come in and burn their ballista crews, which will render their archers next to useless... Just a thought~"

She rumbles happily to herself, she wasn't the best at tactics but she was learning.

She thinks your a wizard? How strange. Stryke replies to Lin comparing Maiathreen to a wizard Mai just ignores the talkative sword.
"That seems like it should work actually I may have an idea that could help if you allow me to cast a spell on the two of you. Anything to add?
He says nodding to both dragon riders.
if both dragons consent to this I will use my last two 2nd lvl spells to cast enhance form +4 to either str/dex/con unless you think those spellslots would be better used against the enemy.

Damian begins gaining altitude, spurring Keythan higher into the air. "We can't sustain their attacks for the whole time, not without cover. There's nothing low to fly around to get close, so we'll have to go high." He looks to the sky, trying to figure if the sun is bright enough to blind the enemies of their advance. "Once our spellcasters get within range, I want them to open fire on the enemy to get their heads down. Dolo, do you have any magic available to hasten our approach? Once we are nearby, I want the dragons to focus on eliminating their archers and ballistas while I and Luckbender focus on attaining superiority in the sky. Belsarious, figure out where to go once we've punched a hole in their defenses."

He pulls the shield from his back and affixes it to his arm, raising it high. "I don't have to remind any of you how important it is that we stop the Dragonflight here and recover those artifacts. The whole of the Explored Lands will fall under their power unless we do something about it. We must succeed. We will succeed. We will move as one, fight as one, and win as one. Skyknights, to the air!"

Min and Lin are quiet for a long moment before Min shrugs and Lin gives a throaty laugh. "It matters not to us what you cast, so long as it is a good thing~ But I must say that if what you cast will weaken you and give you less to throw at the enemy... Then we will have to decline. For every archer injured by your hand, means another easy target for us to bring low~ The choice is your's Maiathreen for you know best what you are capable of mighty wizard."

As she finishes speaking Damian's voice rises pure and powerfully over the storm, Lin nods in approval to his words as she mulls over what he commanded them to do.

"It seems he has spoken~ Hmmm... Sky-knights... That has a very good ring to it. Perhaps when we are done with these foul little cretins we shall claim this ancient bastion as our own. It has a lovely view~" She gives another laugh, her entire frame vibrating from her laughter, as she begins to turn towards the enemy, preparing to enact what Damian has commanded. Min reaches for a cardinal fletched arrow and nocks it as he prepares to fire upon the ballista crews and use the arrow to maximum effect. He smiled as he listened to Lin's musing and nodded in agreement.

Lin gives a low angry rumble though as she looks towards their distant enemy. "We fight for the Explored Lands to the last breath, today our enemy will taste the bitterest defeat as we snatch away their failed gamble for power."

For anyone who wants to roll 'em...

DC5 P(Soldier) OR DC10 K(Engineering):
These ballistas have a maximum usable effective combat range of 1000 feet. They can fire up to about 1500 feet, but their accuracy is terrible at that range and most soldiers of any skill wait for targets to get within the effective range. The longbows, of course, are typical range. The trebuchets have a 1500 foot effective range but less accuracy.

Lin hides her confusion in the dry response she received after giving what she thought to be praise. After a few moments of confusion, and a hasty talk between Min and her, he shrugs nonplussed. "Let them call it what they will Lin we have more important issues." He looks over his shoulder at Belsarious as he speaks to him. "That sounds good to us but are you ready to take this to a ground battle? Because we are planning on taking the paraphet if we can and hopefully we can overpower their ballista crews. Because if we don't close with them their arrows will be the end of us"

sorry DRA I don't have either of those skills xD, go damian!

How far away are we from them?

Male Human Battle Herald 11

Nodding at Damian's words Min gets ready to cast true strike on himself once they get within a thousand feet of the enemy. He keeps the cardinal fletched arrow nocked as the draw ever closer to the enemy ahead of them.

DRA:

I have 4 castings left for the day and would like to launch 2 cardinal arrows using true strike and aim at a couple of ballista (or the same one if the first arrow didn't kill the first crew). Hopefully with the crews being so close to the seige weapon they will be caught in the fiery blast, along with the ballista.

once we are really close I'm going to use my last two spells of the day to cast shield on Min and Lin before we get close enough to do melee.

Hopefully this isn't doing too much before we reach melee but I thought I woud at least strike at them with what I have. Lol Let me know and I will roll to hit dice and such but this was just a suggestion for you (dis)approval.

Since apparently I didn't fix my previous posting >.<; which looks like crud, here is the revised lol. Sorry about that, busy day with the mobile...

Nodding at Damian's words Min keeps his cardinal fletched arrow nocked as they begin moving towards the enemy in earnest. As they begin to rapidly close the distance to the enemy he begins to quietly chant in draconic, summoning up the arcane energy from within the bond and willing it to imbue his bow with the ability to strike their distant foe. As he finishes his chant his bow glows faintly as the magic quickly takes effect.

DRA:

Didn't mean to repeat myself, but here goes~

If possible when we are within 1,000-1100 feet of the enemy, I will roll initiative if you want and that way I can cast true strike a couple of times and launch a pair of cardinal arrows at the ballista crew(s) with minimal penalties. I understand that I am firing at the maximum distance for my bow (Ten range increments) and no matter what even after true strike I incur a -2 penalty for lower then required strength for my comp bow, but its too much fun not to at least ask if it is possible. =)

Min is trying to deter one or more attacks from their heavier weapons, he knows that he cannot disable a trebuchet and a Ballista is far more deadly to a dragon.

After that though I will cast shield on Min and Lin and be out of spells for the day (Only 4 castings left after the previous battle).

Sorry for the mix up, my previous post was quite shoddy. This is all up to you of course~ either way i'm looking forward to the festivities! xD

Extreme Conditions warning; for every two rounds that you (just humanoids, not dragons or outsiders, etc., and not Mai or Livain) are fighting at this altitude, you need to make a DC10 Fort save or gain the Sickened condition from oxygen deprivation. This condition is removed after your next successful save. ANY spellcasting (even for Mai) requires a Concentration Check of DC15 + spell level.

The ballistas have AC5, Hardness 5, and 60HP. The soldiers all have AC18 and 30HP, so obviously go ahead and rock your own hit/miss narratives. :-) You've fought enough of these guys that you would all have a fair idea of their capabilities at this point.

Min, everything you propose is fine, just make the appropriate Concentration checks for your spells. You can do 'em all at once if you want. Mai, same thing for you. You all have the equivalent of three rounds for buffs as you get in range, you can do it all at once since some party members will just be flying. We'll pick up the action assuming you have hit the 1,000-foot perimeter.

Initiative Rolls:

Sir Damian: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Min: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Belsarious: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Syl: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Dolo: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Mai: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Livain: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Tower Guards: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Initiative Order is:
Sylsalvitae
Sir Damian
Min
Belsarious
Livain
Tower Guards
Mai
Dolo

Rising high above the tower, to an altitude where the thin atmosphere makes breathing difficult, you spiral up in precise formation so the afternoon sun is at your back, then with Sir Damian leading the charge, you rocket down out of the sky. Neither you nor the enemy can be effective with ranged weapons until within that 1000-foot perimiter, so there is an eerie calm as you approach. There are six ballistas -- one on each mountain peak, and four on the tower -- but only four can hit you at this angle. The two trebuchets appear to be unmanned at the moment.

After a short time of plummeting down in attack formation, the party breaks the perimeter of the guards' ranged weapons, and the fight begins.

Syl and Sir Damian, you're first up. Fight!

Round 1, Initiative 22

Fortitude Save 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Brook grabs on as tight as he possibly can as Keythan descends at maximum speed. With the griffon in a tight spiraling dive, Damian holds his lance steady. Taking the lead in this fashion would be incredibly dangerous, but such is the peril of leadership. Hopefully the spellcasters could eliminate the ballistas and archers before his arrival.

Keythan is taking a Run action, moving forward at 4x speed. His normal AC drops to 16, though Damian can still use Mounted Combat to avoid successful hits.

Dolo casts Haste on the party as we close. Please consider this as you approach! Other two buffs will be Shield and Protection from Evil on Glor.

For the three rounds on approach: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

P.S. Are we sure this is an enemy?

Lin scales reflect the sun, like a well polished silver mirror, as she lets loose a booming roar before they begin plummeting towards the awaiting enemy. Even with the wind screaming in his ears, his goggles frosting over from the cold and taking rapid breaths beacuse of the thin air, Min is able to find the strength to summon forth an arcane shield from the bond to better protect his companion. As he finishes his chant a ball of blue light pulls free from the palm of his hand and hovers, unaffected by their rapid descent, near Lin. Taking another ragged breath Min forces his hands not to shake as he focuses on pulling more strength from the bond.

As he chants another set of floating lights forms and slowly bonds with his hands, eyes and bow. As the spell takes effect the world suddenly became sharper, its details more crisp and distant objects appeared much closer with fine detail. He was filled with exhilaration as he was filled with uwavering confidence in his ability to strike the distant ballista with unerring accuracy. Without waiting a moment longer he nocks the Cardinal arrow and released it, narrowly missing Damian as it streaks past, on its deadly path towards the enemy. Moments later a fiery explosion envelops one of the ballista's and its crew, but there is no respite for the enemy as Min draws forth another burst of arcane strength from the bond and releases yet another deadly cardinal arrow moments after the first.

As the second explosion erupts shortly after the first, Min couldn't see what chaos he caused but he fervently hoped that the enemy would be at least slowed down before they could use the ballista against them. Lin kept her wings tucked in somewhat close as they continued to plummet towards the enemy, he could feel the intensity of her focus as she tried to maintain as steady of a flight as she could.

As the wind buffet them and she adjusted every few moments trying to maintain her flight, she couldn't help but think of Damian charge as odd. Her thoughts were teasing as she spoke to Min through the bond. {Are all humanoids so reckless as to charge their enemies while leaving themselves so hopelessly outnumbered?}

Min gave a short laugh through clenched teeth as the intense cold forced him to lean closer to Lin's warmer body. He kept his bow tucked close to her as well, as he fumbled for another cardinal arrow. {I once remember a young dragon who was rescued by a similar tactic...}

Her great frame rumbles as she laughs, the turbulence tosses them around some, the wind screams loudly in their ears as she continues to gain momentum. The bond vibrates warmly as she continues to laugh merrily. {Touche, dear Meleth, touche indeed~}

Up to you how this works out DRA, if I need to wait a few rounds before acting again, that is cool too. It is hard to gauge what all I can do when Damian is a Silver cannon ball! xD

Leaving out Syl for now, will add her back in when she posts...
Since you all have Mounted Combat or similar, I'm just going to post the hit/possible damage rolls and you can decide how to react. Our usual MO, basically. :-)

Also, doesn't look like everyone specified speed, but I'm assuming you're all roaring in at full blast so that you arrive at roughly the same time. Min gets two shots off on the way in, and the Dragonflight gets off one round of ballistas and arrows (all at mad negs -- not even gonna bother rolling the archers because they literally can't hit you that far out). Sir Damian will of course arrive first.

Knowing they probably won't get a second free shot given the extreme rate of speed at which you're approaching, the Red Dragonflight warriors hold their fire until the party is well within range, then unleash a massive coordinated volley of fire; 16 archers and four ballistas all unload, splitting between targets. The ballistas focus on the big flyers; the dragons and Glor and Keythan, while the archers focus on the riders and the two Aellar. While juking and dodging around the enemy volley, all of you can see that there are guards armed with light melee weapons waiting by all the doors on the tower, or at least all the ones you can see.

The enemy bolts all miss, some of the arrows just get tossed wildly around, and you all are able to get in range quickly. The archers seem not to have assumed enemies so well-armored would be approaching.

Two arrows streak in from Min's bow, plowing into the ballista facing them on the tower and damaging it quite badly; it may not be able to fire again. Meanwhile, the enemy archers have all reloaded and are preparing to fire now that you all are well within their sights, and Sir Damian is in range to launch his first attack.

Red Dragonflight fires on Round 2 as you approach, so everyone is way out at the limit of their range. Next we'll hit round 3, starting with Sir Damian being in range to attack.
Round 1
Party is 1000 feet out at start, spends round flying in. Min fires one arrow. No action from enemy.

Round 2
Party is between 450-600 feet out at start, depending on fly speed. Min fires one arrow. Belsarious casts Ice Storm. Ballistas fire.
Ballista attack on Lin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Ballista attack on Glor: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Ballista attack on Keythan: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Anyone else able to get in a spell from this far out can say they did so...

Round 3, Current round!
Ballistas are reloading, party is more-or-less in range, see map:
Web version.

Sir Damian, you are up. Fight![/b]

Round 3, Initiative 22

Ride 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33

Damian's Lance (Charge) vs Ballista 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31
--> Damage 3d8 + 48 ⇒ (8, 2, 3) + 48 = 61

Damian deftly pulls Keythan out of the dive with a corkscrew maneuver that will probably result in Brook vomiting after the battle. He evens the griffon out for a run at one of the undamaged ballistas, slamming into it with the full force of a diving Skyknight. The machine splinters into countless pieces, shattered to little more than scrap.

Keythan's Bite vs. Ballista Crew 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
--> Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Keythan's Bite vs. Ballista Crew 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
--> Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Keythan's Claw vs. Ballista Crew 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
--> Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Keythan's Claw vs. Ballista Crew 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
--> Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

As Damian explosively destroys one of the ballistas, Keythan screeches and attacks the crew with magically quickened slashes and bites. Any crewman he can reach is shredded, bleeding from the feral ferocity of the griffon's natural weapons.

As ruined lumber and shards of wood tumble into the sky followed by the shredded remains of a ballista crewman, Sir Damian wheels Keythan around and Min gets into position.

Min, you are up!

Lin gave a mocking roar as she easily dodged the incoming ballista bolt, as it lazily arched towards her. {Are they even trying or are they simply mocking us?!} She gives another defiant roar as her wings snap out to slow her rapid descent and bring her into a fast glide towards the tower.

Lin moves to O-17 = 60feet movement

Unable to match the ferocious pace of their leader, Min settles for raining destruction down on another of the surviving ballista's and its crew. As he knocked the cardinal arrow he made note of the distance and grimaced, it would be a difficult shot and hopefully fate was with them today. He took careful aim at the ballista and quickly unleashed two cardinal arrows in rapid succession...

Min FAA
Arrow 1 to Ballista F-5 13+12+1-2-2= 22
Arrow 2 to Ballista F-5 20+7+1-2-2= 24
Confirm Arrow 2 to Ballista F5 10+7+1-2-2= 14
[Haste!]Arrow 3 to Ballista F-5 16+12+1-2-2= 25

Damage 1 6+4= 10
Fire Damage 1 5+4+1= 10
Damage 2 x2 8+2+4+4= 18
Fire Damage (is not doubled by the crit?) 1 4+4+1= 9
Damage 3 5+4= 9
Fire Damage 1 5+5+3= 13

Arrow Damage = Possible 37
Fire Damage = 31 to a 20ft radius from ballista

As the explosion's bloomed upon the distant peak, Min takes a mental count of the remaining cardinal arrows and frowns...

{Four left, we'd better close quickly and take this to ground Vaera...}

A low rumble shakes her frame as she starts descending towards the tower top, seeing the armed soldiers causes her claws to glow with arcane might. She hated the magic that had been etched into her claws but it did make her quite effect in annihilating armored soldiers. {With pleasure!} She gave another throaty roar as she announced her intention's at the soldiers on the tower top.

At least now they would have the chance to choose to run or die where they stood...

That F-5 ballista and crew are just not getting a break! So Bel will have splashed them with Sleet Storm and then I rain 3 explosive arrows down on them... I feel sorry for them! XD

Maiathreen stares at the damage that his knew allies have unleashed in such a short amount of time.

"I certainly would not want them as enemies." He comments to his wife.

Glorfindal streaks in with his comrades, pumping his leathery wings like mad to close the distance with the powerful siege weapons.

As they get close (within 170'), Dolo casts Glitterdust on the ballista crew on the right-side peak.

Move: Double move for Glor

Standard Action: Cast Glitterdust (DC 18)

In a very short time, you Skynights have demolished two of the tower's ballistas; first Sir Damian pulverized one on the tower itself and then Min rained down fiery death down on the one on the left mountain peak. Red Dragonflight soldiers plummet screaming over the edge of the mountain, burning as they go, followed by their compatriot on the tower that Keythan tore to ribbons.

I need Concentration Checks from Dolo and Belsarious for the Glitterdust and Sleet Storm spells, respectively, unless you made them earlier and I'm just missing it.

Map is updated, Livain is up!
