Celif moves to L-20 and casts Cure Light Wounds on Thorgrim healing 3 hit points. 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 The room has an aura of negative energy, I can feel it! Move back this way, if you can!

Sirena moves to N-19, pulls the string on her longbow to maximum, and lets an arrow fly at Creature #4 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14. The arrow flies true, striking the monster for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 seven damage!

Since Thorgrim can't attack this round, he can post his action, and we'll proceed with the creature's actions.

You notice that Creature #2 has sustained several wounds. Much to your dismay, you notice that the wounds are diminishing in severity!

Creature #1 opens its fetid maw full of broken, rotten teeth, and tries to bite Argyros 1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 3 = 19 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6. It gnashes on him for 6 points of damage! It's filthy, rotten arms wrap around Argyros 1d20 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 3 = 16 and it successfully grabs him into a grapple!

Creatures #2 and #3 attack Rudy, swinging their arms widely to slam:
1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 3 = 27
1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 3 = 10
Creature#2 pounds Rudy for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 seven damage!

The foul evil emitting from the room causes 2 more points of damage to Gezzo and his wolf mount, Imowen, Argyros, Rudy, Flug, and Fener.

I look around at my companions.

There is a tremendously evil force in that room! What are we going to do to get rid of it? Any ideas? I can pour the rest of the Holy Water from this waterskin in there. Or I can try to splash it on the creatures.

Since much of the holy water contained in the waterskin was used to dampen the evil in the previous room, we'll assume there is not much left in it - perhaps one flask in quantity at most.

Keep falling back and get them out of that room! We will worry about cleansing the room after we dispatch these creatures!

Rudy attempts to attack and trip Creature #2, but misses!

Fener pulls a flask of Holy Water and tosses it at Creature #2. It sails toward the creature but misses it, 1d8 ⇒ 8 landing on Rudy's head and shattering! Holy Water sprays in all directions, causing one splash damage each to Creatures 1, 2 and 3. It also splashes on Argyros, but he doesn't seem to mind. Rudy is very wet...but in a holy way! This appears to offer him some protection, as he only takes 1 point of damage from the evil essence pervading the area.

Argyros:
Before adjudicating any attack, you must escape the grapple of the creature who has you in its grasp. You cannot make a two-handed attack from this condition. Read this --> Grappled and then decide an appropriate action.

You should probably try to escape its clutches, which would be a Combat Maneuver Bonus roll, which would be against its Combat Defense DC.


Story Master:
I did notice that I was grappled. The only change to my actions would have been using one hand on my attack instead of two. It would have reduced my total damage by 2 points, including the critical. I'll only be able to 5' step back if I dealt enough damage to kill the monster.

The pile of flesh and bones that was Creature #1 quivers and shakes, and then bursts, flinging rot towards all adjacent creatures!
Argyros and Rudy – make Fortitude saves.

Creature #4 advances on Argyros and tries to bite him 1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 3 = 17 with its fetid jaws. It succeeds in inflicting 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 five damage! It tries to wrap its arms around Argyros 1d20 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 3 = 28 and succeeds in grappling him!

Creatures #3 and #2 continue to slam Rudy:
