M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Yes used an action point. That was my last one, sweet.
After pulling IT out of the line of fire, Grafire has an epiphany..."Hey when we get out of here, anybody know where we are going to go?? Ah what the hell, I guess well worry about that in due time."Grafire mumbles his own response back to him self.

"Good lord man, err, or machine thing, IT. You are not a lite bucket of bolts..."

Huffin and puffin Grafire stands IT up. "Now ready your self IT, we are going to have to pull up the rear guard for this escape to work."

"I'll pull bahamut's blessing back to give us some cover mind you I could use it to really annoy them, but falling back is a good idea only we can't use that pool room," Rowan mutters quietly hoping he can't be overheard by the bad guys...

Seram moves further down the hall five squares east and waits for the others to catch up.

Second wind bringing me up to 45 hp, and 0 healing surges remaining

Seram Zal retreats. The stairs are difficult terrain so you haven't moved quite so far. Fishmen 1 and 3 take 8 damage for being on consecrated ground. FM3 attacks It - 34 vs AC - 18 damage + 2 poison damage to It. Althanis casts Winding Serpents against everyone. To hit - 1d20+13=32 vs It (Hit), 1d20+13=26 vs Manny (Hit), 1d20+13=25 vs Grafire (Hit), 1d20+13=25 vs Akahale (Hit), 1d20+13=22 vs Seram (Hit), 1d20+13=29vs Rowan (Hit) EVERYBODY takes 13 necrotic damage and you are restrained - this does mean that you can make Athletics vs Fort or Acrobatics vs Ref roll as a standard action to escape.

Manny's radiant blast causes the fish-men to goggle and gasp as Seram Zal makes a tactical withdrawal. Rowan's holy power causes a couple of them to stagger in their tracks as they make their way towards the group. One gets a nasty jab in against It, whilst the horrid form of Althanis lurches towards the heroes and phantom serpents start to wind around the party.

>>>>MAP<<<<

Block 3's turn.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Acrobatics v Fort to escape restraint (1d20 6=18)

Akahale struggles to free himself from the bonds of the wrathful serpents and curses his nearest foe (F3).

Bringing the powers of darkness to bear on his foes, he gathers the flaring necrotic energy and binds it into a solid mass before hurling it into the midst of his enemies.

Using AP to fire Cursebite at square to the right of F1 - burst 1 within 20 affecting all creatures under my curse. Cursebite (Fort) v F3, F1, Althanis (1d20 11=27, 1d20 11=25, 1d20 11=31)
Manually altered to make the attack on F3 a 27. Crit on Althanis.

Althanis takes 20 necrotic plus 5 normal from the curse. F1 and F3 take 13 necrotic each plus 5 from the curse. Totals 25 to Althanis and 18 to the Fishbods.
damage (2d8 4=13, 1d8=5)

Althanis and the fish-men reel in agony as Akhale leads the counterattack against the villains.

It's turn. You escape from your bonds at the end of your turn anyway, but your attempt to escape failed. FM1 is bloodied. FM3 is also bloodied.

N Warforged Fighter

It is inert again.

Death save (1d20.minroll(10)=19)

Sitting at 32 hp. If need be I say we grab It and run...very, very quickly

Mystic Cultist teleports. Dagon's Fang on mann - 28 vs Fort - 16 psychic damage to Manny - actually 8 because of his robes.

Again Mandrake feels his mind under assault from images of tentacles and teeth.

Block 4-Manny and Rowan

>>>>MAP<<<<

Rowan rolls an 18+7 for 25 on his athletics versus fortitude

Rowan summons Bahamut's blessing back to protect them providing healing to It and Manny whilst countering the enemies charge.

Uses a move action to move the consecrated ground steps back diagonally one square and then descends one square so the bottom right corner rests on Manny with It on the square directly above but also covers fishman 1 & 3 with that cultists beneath fishman 1, the minor action to sustain it and then I guess use up the standard action for that athletics check.

Taking Manny's turn. Thunderwave - vs Althanis 25 vs Fort, vs FM1 30 vs Fort. Both take 13 damage and are pushed.

"Why don't you jes git lost!" Manny bellows in rage.

With a sonic boom, Althanis and a fish-man are thrown backwards.

BLOCK 1's turn
>>>>MAP<<<<

Thx for covering, How many HP did I get back for teh 2 turns that I started my turn IN the holy area? Because even with my robe, those last two hits took me down WAY too close for comfort! I'd be deaders without it!

"Stoopid villains, always the same. If'n yeh REELY wanna scare somebody, why don't you try conjuring something REELY sceery? Like clowns? Or My Pretty Ponies?"

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Grafire struggles against the unseen force and tries to free him self.
1d20=17+9=26 Strength check vs restrain. I put in the wrong bonus on the roll, as I forgot we were restrained.

"You guys got to get movin. Hut, hut soldiers. Move it."
Grafire then moves between Manny and Athlanis 1sqr SW and 1 sqr W.
"That'll be enough of that, Athlanis. No picken on the elder."

12 hp total Manny.

Great, thx. Sitting at 16HP total. Um,... STILL too close for comfort!

"Yeah, you heard the man. Respect yer elders!" Manny pipes up, the tip of his tall, conical hat bravely, if barely, peeking up over Grafire's broad shoulders.

Finally managed to post last couple of days it seemed like every time i looked in Paizo was down, probably just my luck but I assume my action is next?

"Well thats one way to tell them they're not wanted..." Rowan tries to mutter.

You've had your turn - it's now Block 1 then block 2. Just updated the map to reflect your movement of the consecrated ground. FM3 takes 5 damage from the Ground. FM3 bloodied. Block 2's turn. FM1 draws javelin, throws at Grafire - 23 vs AC. Hits for 11 damage plus 2 poison damage to Grafire FM2 draws javelin, moves behind Althanis, throws at Manny - 18 vs AC miss. FM3 teleports.

Seram retreats down the hallway. Javelins flie, one wounding Grafire, the other blocked by a too rapid to be true block from Manny's staff. One of the sneakier fishmen teleports out of trouble after having been injured by the holiness of Rowan.

Althanis regards Grafire and murmurs "The old are indeed to be respected," sounding oddly like one of Elder Hammerwing's homilies, "As you shall see..."

With a wave of his now barbed hand, he dismisses Grafire. The dragonborn hero is shoved away by magical force across the shrine!

Command encounter power - 30 vs Will. Grafire is dazed until the end of Althanis' next turn and slides 4 squares.

Block 1

Block 2

Akahale's turn.

>>>>MAP<<<<

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Absently planting a curse on F2, Akahale maintains his focus on Althanis.

"Your arguments are not convincing. Embrace your weakness," he croons eerily as yet more dark energy slides over the floor and up the tentacled form of his foe.

Your Delicious Weakness (Ref) v Althanis (1d20 11=24, 2d6 9=16, 1d8=5). If that hits, 21hp to Althanis. If he has a vulnerability, 16 of that damage is that type. The curse is just normal.

Here's some friendly DM advice, since this battle seems to be going not entirely the way of our heroes. If Akahale stays where he is, that will miss, due to the altar providing cover. If Akahale moves so the altar is not blocking the line between him and Althanis, it will hit.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Boglins. Forgot about the blasted altar. OK. Akahale will stalk majestically to flank It. Have to get the damage in while we can. And, of course, get ready to run like crazy.

Althanis howls in agony as dark energy attacks him; his fellow cultist tries to send the power of Dagon into Akahale's mind but the plucky Dragonborn resists the psychic insinuation. The cultist looks worried and teleports away.

Althanis was hit. It heals 6 hp and has a turn before the cultist. Apologies. Cultist got 15 vs Fort on Akahale. Looks like my luck is running out! It's turn.

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Grafire will use his - Dwarvin Greaves:Daily Power: Immediate interrupt- Negate the forced movement of a push, pull or slide.

So that should keep me in my original spot even though I am still Dazed.

You can't I'm afraid Grafire - magic items have a limit to how many can be used per day. (p226 PHB) - you've already used 2 Daily item powers. 1 was your usual for being 1-10 level, the second is allowable because you reached a milestone. This is a rule I keep missing, and I feel sure I have missed others using more than their alloted quota, but I will be more vigilent. But, yes, by the rules you can't use that power yet. But it does mean you still have it for later.

I apologize, but are we still retreating? I may have missed something while being sick or high on medicine, but from the looks of the current map it looks like wev'e decided to fight on. Which if that's the case Seram wouldn't leave either. I just had him backing out because I thought that was still the plan

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Essentially it still is, but Akahale is reluctant to leave a kinsman, so he's providing blast cover while Manny, It and Grafire get clear.

Ah yes the 'limited magic item use rule'. Sorry, but when I read that rule I disliked it. Nothings changed. Ah well,... At least my robe saved my wrinkly bacon this turn! ;P Yes, Manny still plans on retreating, just haven't quite gotten around to it yet! When it's my next turn, one shoot-n-scoot coming right up!

N Warforged Fighter

IT stands, announces, "It is badly damaged. It is withdrawing," and retreats down the stairs.

As far as move 5 will take me

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Darn rules... So being dazed can I still take my heal surge. I have a feeling I am really going to need it being stuck here.

If you haven't already spent your Second Wind in this encounter, then yes, you can do so. Again, apologies all, this is a tough fight against clever and determined foes.

Manny and Rowan's turns. If Manny is still bloodied, he heals 6hp at the start of his turn.

Minor to sustain the consecrated ground use move action to place Rowan 2 squares ahead of It sheltering behind the altar using a free action to employ Divine Fortune to grant himself +1 to attack roll as he cuts loose with Divine Glow which should only catch Fishmen 1 & 2 and provide Manny, It and Akahale a +2 power bonus to their next attack rolling a 16+9+1 for 26 vs Reflex (Fish#1) and 7+9 for 16 (Fish#2) versus Reflex before spending an action point to cut loose with Searing Light on the same guy Akahale cursed rolling an 11+9 for 20 versus Reflex. If divine glow hits it does 1d8+5 radiant rolling 8pts for both with searing light doing 11pts of radiant if it hits and he's left blinded until the end of Rowan's next go, here's hoping...

Rowan steps past the battered ranks of his comrades taking shelter beside the altar.
"Bahamut hear my prayer I call upon your divine aura to give aid to my allies and woe to our foes!" Rowan hollers.
"YOU feel my god's wrath!" Rowan gestures as a searing bolt of light streaks out to smite one of the cultists.

I figure Rowan can survive a round... maybe long enough to allow the others to pull back and give the cleric a chance to recover since Rowan's within the consecrated ground effective range so he can pull back next round... that is a really BIG if but here goes...

You hit FM1 (radiant damage causes it to take -2 to attacks until start of its next turn). Manny's turn.

Rowan is a veritable beacon of divine light, but it seems the power of Bahamut will not be felt this day, as only one of your foes succumbs to the might of the Platinum Dragon.

>>>>MAP<<<<

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Grafire digs deep and uses his second wind. That gives me a +2 to all defenses right? plus 1 heal surge. I don't have my book with me right now. Oh yes appology accepted for kickin our butts... :D

Oh he is SO bloodied,... thank you +6 HP! now at 22HP & still bloodied. SO, our milestone earlier regained our action points, right? I hope so,...

The +2 from Rowan's power is only to our attack rolls? NOT to the damage as well, correct? ;)

Seeing his large reptilian ally knocked aside like so much baggage, and looking like he's not going anywhere in a hurry, the wizard looks worried. As he feels the rejuvenating surge of Rowan's healing glow, Manny takes a deep breath, and glares at the caster.

"You pretentious puppy! You wannabe wizard! You sorcerous sycophant suck-up to a slimy second-rate sea-god! You're nothing but a dabbler in squid's clothing! I've forgotten more about magic than you've learned! Let me show you just how far you have to go!"

And with that he takes a step as he lowers his staff, and a blazing white bolt flies from the staff toward the caster. Before the bolt is even halfway there, Manny spins around, gathering blue mystic energy on top of his staff, which he hurls with a bestial roar towards the caster. The blue energy roars towards the robed caster of Dagon with an apparant life of it's own, battering at the figure with buffets of pure thundering force.

"Blast the !@#$%^&*, Get your cousin, and lets leave." Manny says calmly and quietly to Akahale, wisps of steam still rising from his extended staff as he glares at the cultist.

OK, how far do I have to move to get a clear shot past the altar? Will 1 step N next to Akahale do it? If not I move to the square in front of Akahale. (Dangerously close to the fish man I know.) This is my move action.

1st attack, Magic missile D20 +11 +2(Rowan's bonus) vs Reflex:

1d20+13=18, Force dmg if hit: 2d4+7=12

Spend Action point, cast Spectral Ram, d20 +11 +2(rowan) +3(human action surge feat) Vs Fort:

1d20+16=19, 2d10+7=11 Force dmg if hit, + pushed 3 squares & knocked prone

Aw c'mon! even with all those bonuses I can't roll worth squat! I thought I HAD this guy this round! ;P UNfortunately I put myself in harm's way (again) to try and save Gra and take down the cultist. If he is attacked Manny will use his SHIELD Utility power (immediate interrupt) to raise his defense and (hopefully) avoid damage!

Manny unleashes a barrage of magical might, but it is full of sound and fury, and comes to nothing.

Althanis shakes his spiny head, "Perhaps we should put you out of your misery, old mage." he says with an almost caring note.

Block 1 back up. Grafire has spent Second Wind. Seram's turn.

>>>>MAP<<<<

Grr, I'm split on what to do! On one hand I know the need to retreat is needed. But looking at the map and still seeing Graf, Manny and Alahale make sme want to run back to fight. I mean that's what Seram is all about anyway, fighting till you can't anymore.

Manny - I've been trusting you to do the insubstantial halving - when does the effect wear off? 2nd Dagon's Fang attack on Grafire - miss 12 vs Fort. Move action to teleport.

The fish-men seem to be both more and less cautious in their assault this turn, and the comrades attempt to hit the fishy foes but to no avail. Manny feels the power of Dagon once more as well as a rusty rapier.

Akahale's turn

>>>>MAP<<<<

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Watching the carnage, Akahale fires a bolt of pure psychic damage at F2.

"Grafire, Mandrake, leave now."

Eldritch Blast at F2 (1d20 11=23, 1d10 7=17, 1d8=5). 21 damage to F2. 17 psychic, 5 normal.

Move depends on whether Manny and Grafire are still upright. If either of them are down, he'll try and drag them away. If they're both able to move unaided, he'll head down the stairs.

Minor depends on the above and whether he has LOS on F4. If he does, Curse.

You hit, and you don't have LOS to FM4. Don't forget you heal 6hp at the start of your turn.

Akahale blasts one of the fish-men and it goggles but does not fall.

It and Mystic Cultist.

ACK! Um, I think it only lasts "Until the END of my next turn" Which I think was after my last move. So I'm probably pretty much toast. UNLESS,... I did declare last post that I would use my SHIELD utility spell (immediate interrupt) if I was attacked. It's use may negate some of those attacks. (It provides a +4 bonus to AC & Reflex Defense) Otherwise I am at,... oh cr@p,...

Manny hastily shelters behind a hastily conjured disc of force as the barrage of attacks fly at him. As the echoes die down he blinks, looking considerably the worse for wear. Then the main course consisting of a completely gratuitous amount of pain arrives, complete with a side order of whirling stars.

"Oh, bother." He mumbles in a slurred voice as he watches the growing crimson stain on his robes in abstract fascination. "That can't be good."

Then the mage looks up, teetering slightly, and seems about to say something to the evil cleric,... and slowly, majestically, topples to the floor.

Used SHIELD spell, HOPEFULLY the SHield Spell will take some of that away and I'm still standing, if barely!! Otherwise I am at,...

"That would be Negative 9 HP Bob!" ;P

They both still hit, I'm afraid. So yes, you are at -9. BUT at the start of your turn you will be back up to 6HP courtesy of the Consecrated Ground spell cast by Rowan. You'll be prone however.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

OK. No curse. Akahale gets as far down the stairs as he can with a move of 6.
