This is bigger and this is smaller.

This is out-of-character commentary for play-by-post threads.

Movie plot spoiler:
This is a spoiler, such as revealing who really did frame Roger Rabbit.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 This is a dice expression.

This means nothing to me. I need someone to explain this. I have tried and get nothing. This needs to be explained in simple english not computer tech for me to understand. Aldo the link everyone sends me does not explain it in the right manner it makes no sense.

Male Elf Rogue 1

Hey, you did it!

You just have to include the appropriate tags in front of and behind the text in question. [bb]When I remove the second "b," this text will be bold.[/bb]

When I remove the second "b," this text will be bold.

It's just like HTML, if that helps.

HP12/12, AC 21, CMD 14, Fort +3, Ref +3, Will +2

Basically, it's the instructions to what to type in the text box to make your post look the way you want it to.

The things put in the brackets are instructions to the computer to make the next text look a certain way (ooc brackets make your text blue, for example)

Does that make sense?

Male Human

Right so Bold is simple enough. Put the bold in when you are indicating that your character is speaking.

Italics is used for your characters thoughts.

spoiler=Title of spoiler]Something you want to hide[/spoiler]

By placing the missing bracket at the beginning this becomes:

Title of spoiler:
Something you want to hide

The out of character is used to maybe clarify your position or ask the GM a question.

Using the dice roller: dice]2d6+3[/dice]
This is used for any of your dice rolls. With any dice, or number of dice.

I hope this helps if not please clarify which parts you particularly do not understand. Is it the code parts itself or the uses?

More Info on Shadows:
Admittance into the Shadows is a gruelling process even family connections can only get you so far.

Men and Women are pushed to the edge of their limits. The final test is that they are tortured for days. In preparation of capture. Everybody talks under pain. The Shadows are bred not to.

There are 4 sections of the Shadows. Protection, Assassination, Infiltration and Extraction.

Protection: These are generally the oldest members of The Shadows and protect and Guard The Voice and their home against any and all threat. Some younger members are allowed in this area but must be loyal and exceptional in combat.

Assassination: These members take out certain targets that threaten the influence of The Voice. Be that influential people involved in politics or simply a blasphemous comment at the market.

Infiltration: Spy's that infiltrate all levels of society. They have their hands in virtually every street and city in Liberium.

Extraction: Specialised in the arts of torture and information extraction.

Every new initiative is assigned one of these roles based upon their skills and preference.

Hope this helps a little. Got to go out but if you need any more just say :D

Shadows:
I think Protection fits for Groden

Male Halfling 1

Shadows:
Infiltration looks good.

Male Human Summoner 1 (HP 8 | AC 14 | T 11 | FF 13 | CMD 12 | F 0 | R +2 | W +4 | Init +1 | Per +1)

Somehow I don't think I quite fit into any of those, being a bit of a Heretic and all. I'm just here for the money.

Male Human Oracle 1

Do we all need to be official members of the shadows for this? or was that just informative for those who do want in?

Male Human

Just info for those interested in been a part of it there is absolutely no need to be a part of them.

Well I will post the first game play post shortly :D

I am Kaleb does anyone know what is going on?

Kaleb, it looks like everyone's sort of naturally slipped into a Third Person posting format (you might notice it reads like a novel).

Your first post was in First Person format. There's nothing wrong with that, but it is a bit jarring to be reading along and find a new posting format every few posts.

Try writing things like a novel. It'll help your posts mesh with ours.

Male Halfling 1

Thanks Killjoy after reading the other posts I see what you mean. Wikll take some getting use too. Again thanks.

HP12/12, AC 21, CMD 14, Fort +3, Ref +3, Will +2

No problem, glad to help.

Also, take a look at your in game post. Notice the Edit feature on the right. It locks after an hour, but before that you can make any rewrites you like.

Male Human

If anyone has any tips or ways for me to improve throughout the game that would be great. I hope you are intrigued so far :D

Kaleb, it looks like the dice roller didn't work for you.

You can tell if it works because the rolls will be in green.

Male Human Oracle 1

Unless he just wanted to take 10 on that roll

Male Orc Paladin(Warrior of the Holy Light}/1

I usually have no idea what the attitude of a character is going to be like before I start playing him, it kind of comes out organically, and so far I think Groden is shaping up to be a zealot ass. Kind of like Issac from Epiphany, but instead of being nice, he's kinda an ass

Male Aasimar (Emberkin) Witch Gravewalker 5 HP: 27| AC 13/T12 /FF 11 | Init +3 | Perc +12| Fort +2| Ref +3 | Will +5

Hey my guys position is clear, he wont like you but as long as your not part of "that" group he wont try to kill you. ;D

Male Orc Paladin(Warrior of the Holy Light}/1

As I've said back in Epiphany, I've never been a fan of the usual concept of an LG person, so trying to play it a bit differently. If Ialo whips out his poppet and uses it to control undead for the greater good, Groden ain't going to "purge" you from the world. If you attacked innocent people though or tortured people, it will be a different story.

If anyone knows Warhammer 40k fluff at all, I'm trying to play a Thorian Inqusitor from Ordo Malleus, sure I'm a zealot, but I will use everything at my disposal to vanquish the BBEG

Male Aasimar (Emberkin) Witch Gravewalker 5 HP: 27| AC 13/T12 /FF 11 | Init +3 | Perc +12| Fort +2| Ref +3 | Will +5

I only torture and kill innocent Ignias crusaders who murdered sinful people for existing. xP

Male Orc Paladin(Warrior of the Holy Light}/1

Well then thats completely different. I can see this being the beginning of a beautiful character based hatred of one another! High five!

Male Aasimar (Emberkin) Witch Gravewalker 5 HP: 27| AC 13/T12 /FF 11 | Init +3 | Perc +12| Fort +2| Ref +3 | Will +5

::Ialo throws his poppet at Groden, it grabs the side of his face and licks his ear::

Poppet Attack!

XD

Male Orc Paladin(Warrior of the Holy Light}/1

When I was making a winter witch for Jacob's solo campaign, I read up on the gravewalker and the poppet, and man that thing is gross.

Male Halfling 1

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Fiqured out error on dice roller. Be patient fellow gamers I will get this fiqured out thanks for your help.

HP12/12, AC 21, CMD 14, Fort +3, Ref +3, Will +2

You're doing fine, man. Don't sweat it. It took us all a while to figure out how the coding works.

HP12/12, AC 21, CMD 14, Fort +3, Ref +3, Will +2

Spotty net access over the weekend. NPC Killjoy as needed.

Male Human Oracle 1

Ack, sorry I fell a bit behind there guys. Time got away from me today.

Male Elf Rogue 1

Hey, folks, I'm going to be only semi-available for the next week. I'll try really hard to get in at least one post a day, but I have to ask for patience on the days I can't. Thanks.

GM Hairy, feel free to have Cyne hang out in the back and fire arrows whereever appropriate. He won't ever initiate combat himself, though. He waits for orders out of habit. He has precise shot, too, so he will fire into melee if necessary.

As for personality, he is just doing what he is told. At the moment, that means finding the shrine.

Male Human

I am going to have to end this game. I have only been playing Pathfinder since January and then only been using Core Rules since May.

This is just to much for me to fast. I apologise a lot and I hope you understand but I am just finding this quite difficult to do. I think I need a lot more experience running something simpler before taking on this kind of challenge. Again I apologise.

Please don't hate me :P

Male Orc Paladin(Warrior of the Holy Light}/1

Hey Hairy, a similar thing happened with my Epiphany campaign. Was just too daunting. If I could make a suggestion. Start reading up the books and maybe play a lot more as a player. And if you still want to GM, run a small module by pathfinder, something with a clear beginning and end. It all helps!

Male Human Summoner 1 (HP 8 | AC 14 | T 11 | FF 13 | CMD 12 | F 0 | R +2 | W +4 | Init +1 | Per +1)

No problem. At least it wasn't in middle of a fight. Maybe you could try a published mod. I know when I try to DM PbP at some point, I'm going to try a published mod.

Male Aasimar (Emberkin) Witch Gravewalker 5 HP: 27| AC 13/T12 /FF 11 | Init +3 | Perc +12| Fort +2| Ref +3 | Will +5

It happens, hope to see you GM in the future.

Male Human Oracle 1

No hard feelings - GM'ing is a lot of work and I'm sure pbp makes things even more daunting if you're not used to it.

Good luck all on all your future gaming.
