Spell-Like Abilities:

Cantrips:

Witches can prepare a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells, each day. These spells are cast like any other spell, but they are not expended when cast and may be used again.

Spell Poppet:

Each gravewalker carries around a gristly, inanimate poppet stitched from human skin and stuffed with shards of bone, fingernails, and grave dirt. A gravewalker’s spells come from the will of evil spirits residing in the poppet, and its ability to hold spells functions in a manner identical to the way a witch’s spells are granted by her familiar. The gravewalker must commune with her poppet each day to prepare her spells and cannot prepare spells that are not stored in the poppet.

Aura of Desecration (Su):

At first level, a gravewalker can create a 20-foot-radius aura of evil power. This aura increases the DC of channeled negative energy by +1 and the turn resistance of undead by +1. At 3rd level and every 2 levels thereafter, the radius of the aura increases by 5 feet, to a maximum of 70 feet at 20th level.

Bonethrall (Su):

At 1st level, a gravewalker can take control of an undead creature within her aura of desecration by forcing her will upon it (Will negates, using her hex DC.) If it fails the save, the creature falls under her control as if she had used command undead (once control is established, the undead remain controlled even if outside the witch’s aura). Intelligent undead receive a new saving throw each day to resist her command. The witch can control up to 1 HD of undead creatures per caster level. If an undead creature is under the control of another creature, the witch must make an opposed Charisma check whenever her orders conflict with that creature’s.

Possess Undead (Sp):

A gravewalker may take direct control of one of her undead minions within her aura of desecration, as if using magic jar; the witch’s poppet acts as the soul receptacle for this ability. The minion gets no saving throw against this ability.

Evil Eye (Su):

The target takes a –2 penalty on one of the following (witch’s choice): AC, ability checks, attack rolls, saving throws, or skill checks. This hex lasts for a number of rounds equal to 3 + the witch’s Intelligence modifier. A Will save reduces this to just 1 round.

This is a mind-affecting effect. At 8th level the penalty increases to –4.

Cackle (Su):

A witch can cackle madly as a move action. Any creature that is within 30 feet that is under the effects of an agony hex, charm hex, evil eye hex, fortune hex, or misfortune hex caused by the witch has the duration of that hex extended by 1 round.

Misfortune (Su):

The witch can cause a creature within 30 feet to suffer grave misfortune for 1 round. Anytime the creature makes an ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, it must roll twice and take the worse result. A Will save negates this hex.

At 8th level and 16th level, the duration of this hex is extended by 1 round. This hex affects all rolls the target must make while it lasts. Whether or not the save is successful, a creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 1 day.

Slumber (Su):

A witch can cause a creature within 30 feet to fall into a deep, magical sleep, as per the spell sleep. The creature receives a Will save to negate the effect. If the save fails, the creature falls asleep for a number of rounds equal to the witch’s level.

This hex can affect a creature of any HD. The creature will not wake due to noise or light, but others can rouse it with a standard action. This hex ends immediately if the creature takes damage. Whether or not the save is successful, a creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 1 day.

Background:

Ialo is the last surviving member of the Darkfang Clan. The Darkfang Clan was an extended family numbering in the hundreds, they lived in their own hidden village. The clan was made up of witches, necromancers, sorcerers, priest, and the like. They held no loyalty save to the clan, they were often employed in dealing with matters of death. At times that meant laying to rest the dead, undead, or those that deserved death. Knowing that they were feared and misunderstood they remained hidden and isolated from the greater world. That all changed when the so called holy men fell upon their village, some how the clan's home had been exposed. Ialo returned to the village, witnessing the result of the attack. Every man, woman, and child was murdered, some cut down in their own homes. Yet that was not enough for the attackers, they crucified as many as they could. Leaving their bodies to be eaten by the murder of countless crows. Ialo took his things that day and left his village. He would rebuild the Darkfang clan and take the souls of those who had destroyed his people for no reason. Death was too light a price for them.

Background: After the Fall of the Clan:

Ialo spent days scavenging among the ruins of the village while giving his clansmen a proper burial. When the last body was laid to rest and a marker struck into the dirt above them he left. His work done but his wrath and fear far from calmed, if anything they were intensified. Ialo was well versed in the dead, his people often protected themselves when leaving the village to safe guard their bodies and even souls. Yet they were lax in the safety of their hidden home. He had found the holy water and symbols in silver to keep their dead at rest and used them. But their souls were another matter, the manner of their death's concerned him. The Darkfang were secretive and had no political agenda, they were enemy and ally more often then not. Their position placed by situation rather then pointed intent. Such wholesale slaughter was in all measurements a tragedy, such was the preferred supper of Zyphus.

The fate of any soul in the grim harvestman's care was to be absorbed by him. His clan did not deserve such a fate if that were the case. He needed to find their fate as much as he needed to bring vengeance upon those that attacked the Darkfang clan. But he would find no more answers in the husk of his former home. So he would travel, gain information, gain power, and gain allies. He would not be the last of the Darkfang.

Born with heavy characteristics of his other worldly heritage, the tragedy of his people at such a young age shifted more then his psyche. It shifted a number of his physical traits. His once auburn hair with heatless flames died and became wispy white, turning to silver in moonlight. His glowing yellow eyes had their light extinguished to cool clear blue. Finally his albino skin hardened into the shade of bone and ivory. The only unusual trait to remain the same was his shadow, winged with the strange habit of moving of it's own accord.

His manner of dress unlike his natural appearance is less distinctive. Favoring various styles of robes with major solid colors, black and white a personal favorite.

Personality:

Ialo is detached, patient, and filled with a cold passion. A passion for revenge, power, and all that has been stolen from him in the years sense his home and family were destroyed. He tends to be serious and denies himself many things in the moment in favor of the future he is working towards. He gives off a neutral nature to others but is distrustful until they have proven themselves to him, even then a nugget of doubt remains expecting betrayal. Yet he is loyal to those that are loyal to him, a ready ally so long as they are in turn.
