Gah, thought I wrote those down. Sorry. Yeah, those seem to be correct.

Now that I mention it, though, I see I messed up exchanges. Let me try this again.
18 Strength (16+2)
16 Dexterity
12 Con
10 Intelligence (8+2)
8 Wisdom
9 Charisma (11-2)

I hate to sacrifice his Intelligence, but the alternative is Charisma. And I'm getting a bit tired of roleplaying really low Charisma. :P

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Alright. Actually I'm gonna create a "Recruitment" thread. You guys can start making characters and crunch over there. Let's try to keep this thread for game-world related questions and eventually OOC chat. That will help me keep things organized. Cheers.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Here is a link to the worldmap.

Female Kobold

Very nice map. I can't make out the labels, though. Is there any way to make it bigger?

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Sadly the only way to enlarge it would be downloadkng it.

Shadow Lodge

4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 3) = 14 11
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 3) = 14 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 5) = 19 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 2) = 9 08
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 4) = 20 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 5) = 14 13

That's actually a 21 point buy. I'll give a try and if that doesn't work I'll go with the point buy. I don't have what I need for Three Dragon Ante, and I don't understand how to stat with it anyway.

I'm not sure how much internet access I'll have during the holidays.

In any case: Happy Holidays to you all!

Male Tiefling (Devil Blood) Magus 1 (Blackblade Kensai)

I think I'm going to go for druid.

Human Druid (Plains) with Animal (Feather) Domain

He's going to eventually take a Roc as a pet. He is on the side of the rebels. He's a primitive that lives outside civilization. I'm thinking the Khallan Empire hasn't been kind to primitive, nature loving religions. Let me know if I'm off. He thinks by helping the rebels, they'll leave he and his kind alone. He's like a Native American during the Revolutionary War times. He'll be from one of the tribes indigenous to the area that weren't absorbed into the dominant culture if you have any such tribes in existence.

S 13 D 15 C 16 I 9 W 19 Ch 8

Not sure if I'll be male or female. I'll work that out as I see more of the party. But I think he'll use bow and spear. His intent is to gain the mountain bird (the roc), which is the bird of his people. He fights and trains with it. He'll learn to ride it and fire his bow while scouting the lands.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

The rebel held territory, Coraillan, is actually formly land of the Xoltian Empire, so you are definitely not off the mark here Maddigan. It's entirely possible that your character was a Xoltian (and more recently, a Lethondian) ex-patriate, perhaps enslaved when the Khallan empire originally invaded (about 25 years ago), or your parents were slaves and the rebellion has freed you?

Male Tiefling (Devil Blood) Magus 1 (Blackblade Kensai)

What are the Xoltian and Lethondian's like? I was hoping to be from a tribe like a native tribe that lived off the land rather than an organized society. So I could get that whole native scout working for the civilized rebels feel.

Whatever's clever Human Librarian, 5th Level

Won't lie, my character is probably going to make a few 'dirt-licker' jokes about a druid. Until, that is, said druid smacks him. With a grizzly paw.

Hmm...still waiting to see what my 3-Dragon Ante result will be to set my character in stone.

I'm still thinking...

At the moment, I'm looking at having a stab at an old concept I have been toying with: a monk/inquisitor based around the idea of a Bene Gesserit sister.

I feel such a character could be interesting for the intrigue parts, but I'm still worried about combat usefulness.

I'm working on the background and have a question: Would it be likely that Khals would hang traitors and would simply jail for life a person that, by pure luck, has its rope snap during the hanging (perhaps because it's bad luck, or godly justice)?

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Basically, if you didn't renounce all gods but Razgriz and His Saints, it was torture and eventual death. If you DID renounce all the other gods, the Khals would make you a part of a special regiment known as "the Repentant"... basically cannon fodder before they would send in the real troops. If you survived a couple battles as a Repentant, you would eventually earn your Citizenship as a Khallan.

Public torture and execution would be commonplace for traitors or blasphemers.

Does that clear it up or muddle the issue more DW?

It clears and muddles... If I didn't renounce and got sentenced after enough torture for them to feel good, and the rope breaks, would it be possible that I would be thrown forever in jail instead of hanged anew?

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

It's entirely possible, but would be considered a rarity. One of the bigger advocates for mercy is Algar Razinor, the Red Devil. He was a War Cleric in his early years and helped much in the war against Sehlash and so earned a high place in the church. He could've been your "savior", and decided you should've been imprisoned instead of exectued.

Here is what I have so far:

DESCRIPTION:

With long straight hair of brown and crimson going straight down her back, Sister Milena Teg has a pretty chiseled face, crowned with eyes of a beautiful green.

She stands tall and powerful, at 6’, with an athletic build clearly showing under the simple but well kept dark green traveler’s garment she wears.

She bears no visible weapon or armor and gives the impression of being in some undefined priesthood, for she seems a little shy and quiet, yet pleasant and listening, though a careful look at her will let show a fire and a passion in her deep green eyes that can only be fueled by some higher purpose.
She wears the brand of the Khallan Empire on her shoulder, a sign of her defiance and her sentence. The burning mark she sees as a source of power though, the Seed through which Spring shines through the darkness of Winter.

BACKGROUND:

Milena was offered to the Service of Onarra by her Coraillan parents. She served all her youth and worked hard under the strict apprenticeship of her elder sisters. As she reached adulthood, she started to understand the mysteries hiding beyond the discipline: Spring was to be achieved through compassion and the receiving of others, even aggressors, in a continuous and harmonious flow. She tuned her physical practice around those principles, learning to use her opponents’ energy against them.

But Milena failed her mentors and forgot their teaching, when the Khals rounded the sisters and asked them to renounce their vows and embrace Razgriz as their one true god. She and numerous others stubbornly decided to uphold their faith. On a clear morning, as a light snow hesitated down, twenty were lined up and hanged. All but one died, the rope randomly deciding to spare her. Algar Razinor, the Red Devil, for unknown reasons, decided to simply commute the sentence to life in prison.

Not long after, Coraillan stood up, under the leadership of Seleran Delar, and cast away its bonds, rebelling against the Khallan Empire. Milena was freed and deemed a child of the revolution. A Seed as she saw it, casting its proud roots in the Spring of a new country.

Dreaming Warforged here. Only missing the homebrew traits I think.

Milena is a flowing monk / inquisitor. I plan on taking the Growth domain and a longspear by level 2 and trip everything that moves and, using redirection from the flowing monk, anything that attacks me. Should be a fun combination. As I said, I thought of the combo as a way to have a Bene Gesserit flavor (from Herbert's Dune).

Let me know what you think. I could still go with a 20 point buy without too much trouble, might be more optimized than what the spread gave me, even if it's 20 instead of 25, but I'm not sure if it's necessary. I would go from:

Str 14+2, Dex 13, Con 14, Int 14, Wis 14, Chr 12

to

Str 16+2, Des 13, Con 12, Int 14, Wis 14, Chr 10

...

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Seems like an awesome character concept DW. Main diff I see between those two is you lose 2 con and 2 cha and gain 2 str.

@Maddigan: The Xoltians and Lethondians are more inca/aztec, and they have dinosaurs too, and so use them as beasts of burden etc.
You're right that the Khallans didn't take kindly the Xoltians or Lethondians, but that invasion was some time ago.

Male Tiefling (Devil Blood) Magus 1 (Blackblade Kensai)

Which culture was more warlike? The Xoltians or Lethondians?

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

The Lethondians without a doubt. They recently broke away from Xoltia.

What do you think of its survivability?

I would like to have my "personalized trait be either Birthmark, linked to my branding in jail, or Equality for All, related to my training and my faith. Of course, if you think they don't fit well enough, no problem at all. I would probably take one of the two as my trait.

Male Tiefling (Devil Blood) Magus 1 (Blackblade Kensai)

I see. Blooded humans still get the skill points.

Male Tiefling (Devil Blood) Magus 1 (Blackblade Kensai)

What are our classes so far Fireclaw?

Near as I can tell:

Arawn: Summoner
Pravus: Noble (not sure what this is)
Lysi: Sorcerer
Dreaming: Flowing Monk/Inquisitor
Eftil: Fighter

Is this list correct?

Male Tiefling (Devil Blood) Magus 1 (Blackblade Kensai)

Maybe cleric is the way to go. I don't see a healer amongst the group yet.

Dark Archive

Whatever's clever Human Librarian, 5th Level

Noble is just the aristocrat NPC class done up all pretty, and PC worthy (instead of NPC worthy).

What does it do? Is it just BAB and skills, or are there nifty powers? Just curious.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Basically, the noble is all about talking. Can do stuff like deal "morale" (non-lethal) damage, add cha bonus to damage. They're really good at using the social skills (bluff, diplomacy, intimidate). It's under the OGC so I might put it up on the PFSRD. I'm finally home! Expect to see lots of updates within the next 3 days.

Male Tiefling (Devil Blood) Magus 1 (Blackblade Kensai)

I can't do another healer or caster. I'm already playing two healers in my material world campaigns and three arcane casters. I have one monk in the online campaign and another arcane caster. I need to hit something.

I'm going with a barbarian or tertori monk. I want to play something simple.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Don't worry. If no one wants to play a healer that's fine. Remember that this isn't a normal campaign so a healer isn't as nessescary as it usually would be.

Shadow Lodge

It's not the necessary anyway. A few ranks in Heal and UMD and we'll be fine. A bit behind on wealth, but fine.

Are there any planned regional traits for the city or region that we are in?

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

BAM! To answer your question, all the regional traits are now complete. The country you guys will be starting in is Coraillan.

Male Tiefling (Devil Blood) Magus 1 (Blackblade Kensai)

I can't much settle on a character concept. I have no idea what we're going to be doing, thus I have no idea what kind of character I should build. Be pointless to be combat oriented if we're going to be making tons of skills checks around political affairs. Be pointless to make a skill guy if we're going to go on standard adventures. Not my play style to make a character just to try something. I have to know what I'm going to be doing and what type of character would fit in with what we're going to be doing or I feel completely lost. Hopefully once you get some of that worked out I'll be able to come up with a character.

Female Kobold

Maddigan, it seems that our activities will mostly be based off our choices. It's been stated that we probably will not have combat for a good while, and so probably not a standard adventure, either.
My suggestion is to make a jack-of-all-trades, and focus on writing a fun character to roleplay. But I'm no expert. :))

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Isn't that one of the beauties of the game? This isn't going to be an AP, where alot of it is scripted. I don't have a script. Either way, if you don't have inspiration, that's also fine.

I'm going to try hard to get the campaign traits and info finished today.

Dark Archive

Maddigan, traditionally, I play Pravus as having a side-kick, whose talents and intelligence have varied each time I play him (and another player plays her. Though it could be a male this time!), but their relationship has always been similar to Joker/Harley (loving yet abusive). If you'd like, you could make such a side kick. It would be quite a hoot, I think. I've seen an acrobat, a time-thief, and a dragon fire adept so far for his side-kick.

Just a suggestion, of course.

Male Tiefling (Devil Blood) Magus 1 (Blackblade Kensai)

Ok. If this is the case and my own desires can drive the character, I'm going to assume the following:

1. The adventures will be individually tailored to the characters. Thus we may not even be together much of the time. My goals certainly won't necessarily coincide with the other PCs.

2. I will be able to take the Leadership feat and have a henchmen that does do as I like if I feel like it.

But if I make the character I want to make, I hope not to get screwed or be forced into an adventure I don't want to participate in. I do have some self-directed concepts, but they are not kind. I'm going to see if you're really up for some hardcore roleplaying GM Fireclaw. The character I want to play in this type of situation is one I've wanted to play for a long while, but I haven't found a GM willing to run it past a certain point. We'll see if you're willing.

Can you drop me an email at amnethstardragon@yahoo.com

I'll need to flesh this out with you over email.

Thanks for the offer. I do like to work with the other people in a group. People who have relationships working together has always seem more reasonable. I have an idea for a character I want to run if this is going to be individually scripted adventures. I'm going to run that by GM Fireclaw.

Male Tiefling (Devil Blood) Magus 1 (Blackblade Kensai)

Do all the races get access to the human favored class options or only core rule human? If not, are you going to have favored class bonuses other than the hit point/skill point?

I'm not changing character after all (and set of rolls).

As am I Goblins, but I want to make sure everything is set and prepared before we begin. I only work a little bit today so I am hoping to get everything finished today. My current timetable should allow us to start either this wednesday or thursday.
