The Harrowing

Game Master Shalm

Here's the discussion thread where we can talk out of character, and where you guys can plan things out before you do them.

2. There are a few different text styles that get used. Directions are listed below under "How to format your text."

"When your character says something out loud to the other characters, use bold, and make sure that you use quotation marks as well. It's the best way to set actual conversation off from other text."

When your character has thoughts in his head that don't get spoken, use italics. PbPs are more open even than games in real life, so please don't try to hide your character's motivations. This can be a really great way to help role playing.

All dice rolls should be done with the dice feature. Just type 1dx+y in using the dice feature and it'll show up like this: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Use the out of combat feature for out of character comments. This can be really helpful, but should not be used unless accompanied by either some descriptive text, some out loud speech, or thoughts. For instance, let's say that you'd like to sneak around a corner and look for any potential threats. Here's how you'd do it:

"Let me just take a quick look around the corner," Seamus says as he slips by his companions and sneaks to the edge of the building.

Please let me stay hidden, please let me stay hidden...

Stealth check to avoid notice 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Perception to scan the alleyway 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

For the actual gameplay, we'll use the gameplay thread (above) obviously haha
