Maxwell Moves over to the injured druid, and channels healing injury into him, fixing the worst of his wounds.

Cacumattus readies to fire when he has a clear shot.

The Floating Rune attempts to activate its fire pulse ability...

Concentration: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8.

...but in an effort to *not* be hit by Hisao, is unable to muster the concentration necessary to do so.

Hisao takes one final slash at the rune and then five steps back to allow Cacumattus to fire.

Between Hisao's deft blade, and Cacumattus' well placed shot, the floating rune splits in half. For a few seconds, the pieces continue to float, until the flames gutter out, at which point they crash to the ground, where they quickly crumble to dust.

Reaching out and placing a hand on Hisao's shoulder, he whispers a quiet prayer to Sarenrae as he focuses divine healing into the burnt and fatigued ninja.

A thorough search of the stone tablets which make up the archive reveals three that function as magical scrolls, though they weigh 5 pounds apiece. Cacumattus is able to identify one as an arcane containing Hold Portal and Identify, whilst the other two are divine scrolls of Remove Disease and Shatter.

Deciding that discretion is the better part of valor (and that most of the complex has been cleared), the party beats a hasty retreat to the exit point, using the chime to bypass the locked door.

A Pharasmin acolyte greets you on the other side, and you are ushered back to the Cathedral, where Sister Valanthe listens to your story. Once satisfied that the thefts have been brought to an end, and that the complex has been largely cleared, the party is given the agreed upon reward, and ushered back out into the city, to find the next adventure...
