Felicitas aids Ting but even with the snap of her whip Ting is not able to hit the spider with his sword.
The remaining spiders use their sting.
Pink vs. Ting: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1 Damage: 1d2 - 4 ⇒ (1) - 4 = -3 + poison

Oy, t'anks Miss
ting strikes at the pink spider

damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
peck attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9 for damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Standard Pregen |

Realising that large amounts of force is *not* required, Hans takes a measured swing at the spider in front of him (Blue).
Greatsword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16, for 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 5) + 7 = 17 damage.

Alexos turns to the other spider that attacked Ting (the only one remaining now) and attempts to pummel it to death.
Flurry of Blows: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 191d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 21d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 51d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Crit conf, blow one: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 101d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Alexos also attempts to finish off the head with another flurry attack.
Flurry of Blows: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 191d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 21d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 171d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Crit (Blow 1): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 131d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Even if that first blow doesn't crit, think the combinded between my two attacks and Ting's attack should finish it.

Oy,noice job gents, 'em's were nasty buggers
after he wipes spider gue from his beak and sword he lifts one of the spiders by its leg
Alexos, is ya gonna make one o' 'ese inter a drinking mug, too
smiling at his own joke, he continues
I believes I's'l takes a looks around, wroight
ting takes twenty on perception for the room, looking for anything interesting, then he will take twenty on perception listening at the door and looking for traps.

![]() |

Oy, Looks at tha funky drawin's, all o' 'is woirk an' no sparklies, wroight
did ting see a lock that could be picked, or can he tell if they can be broken open or the lute/flute, whatever it was, be used? Is there a knowledge check he can role for information about the door to tell?

Standard Pregen |

From the looks of the map, it is simply the other side of one of the sets of doors in the original 'sealed' chamber.
Hans looks at the crude map that the party has been producing, and frowns.
"I think that goes back to the entrance, Ting Tang. rather then wasting another shot from the door opener, how about we go back around, and finish searching that big chamber beneath the bridge?"
Icon moved on the map to indicate the way Hans is talking about.

![]() |

ting, breathing heavily from keeping up with Hans
Oy. slows down big guy, we's not alls as longs as ya, wroight
ting looks down the hall way to the west/south taking twenty on percption and then he listens and checks for traps at the door to the east. taking tweny on the door as well

![]() |

Ting walks to the end of the hallway. Dirt and rubble surround a hole in the wall of this alcove. Within, a rough-hewn tunnel leads off into darkness. Two picks and a shovel lie on the floor in front of the hole.
Back at the intersection Ting checks the area there is no door. A suit of elaborate lacquered armor stands sentinel against the far eastern wall of this octagonal chamber. Silver chains attached to the armor’s neck and chest run across the floor of the room, their ends clutched in the bony hand of a skeleton sprawled on the floor ten feet away.

Standard Pregen |

Hans raises an eyebrow as he regards the suit of armor attached to a skeleton by silver chains.
"That... looks a tad odd... and a little bit staged. Ting Tang? Could you check it for traps?"
Either that, or it will animate, and attack...

![]() |

sorry, assumed there was a door :)
Oy, looksy, fancy armor and silvery chains, at 'air looks loike bait ta me's, wroight
Ting walks around the octagonal chamber looking very closely for traps or anything else, he then inspects the skeleton on the floor for traps and possessions and then the armor hanging by the chains for traps.
he will take the time to take twenty on all three things, the room, the skeleton and the armor
Oy, wha'cha t'ink 'appened ta tha' feller wearin' tha' armor, wroight
if he doesn't see anything that concerns him he will unchain the armor and collect anything of value

![]() |

Inside the armor Ting can see a swarm of flesh-eating cockroaches. The crawl out and try to eat every living creature in the room.
Init. Alexos: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Init. Felicitas: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Init. Hans: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Init. Ting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Init. Swarm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Round 1
Hans
Felicitas
Alexos
Ting
Swarm

Standard Pregen |

"Damn..."
Hans turns to the others.
"Run, or fight?"
If the party decides to run, Hans legs it down the corridor to the South.
If the party decides to stay, Hans will move forward, and throw a vial of Alchemist's Fire at the swarm.
Alchemist's Fire: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16, for 1d6 ⇒ 3*1.5 = 4 Fire damage.
Round 2: 1d6 ⇒ 5*1.5 = 7 Fire damage.
EDIT: Looks like we are staying to fight!

squawk
ting removes the first bottle of alchemical fire he aquired from the evil alchemist and tosses it at the cockroaches
alchimical fire attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 for damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 in the first round damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 in the second round

I was reading up on alchemical fire while I was posting, so I didn't see the "run or fight?"
as ting was throwing the alchemical fire he was so shocked that he almost forgot to release the glass battle when he heard his mentor, his hero, his idol dare I say his Yoda say "run or Fight?" ting quickly turned and said
Run? run my scrawny tail feathers, we's re-deaded everyt'ing but 'at big bony snaky thingy, we aint a gonna run from 'em bugs, you's blokes gets a grip an' pour some fire's on 'em, wroight?
thanks, I was typing when you posted that to LOL

Standard Pregen |

Hans grins broadly at Ting Tang.
"Glad to hear you have some backbone! Let's fry these 'roaches!"
As a player, I know that swarms can be dangerous; I didn't want to commit the party to fighting if they did not want to. That said, it looks like we are staying ;-)

![]() |

If I'm not mistaken a 1 for the scatter means the flask falls short in a direct line between the thrower and the target. If I understand it correctly it means splash damage to the swarm, Hans and Ting.
Hans and Ting hit the swarm directly. A lot of individuals start to burn.
Round 1
Hans
Felicitas
Alexos
Ting
Swarm -21HP

Standard Pregen |

That sounds about right - so we each take one point of fire damage.
So, the damage tracker at present is:
Round 1: Hans - 4 damage; Ting Tang - 9 damage; Felicitas - 1 damage (14 total).
Round 2 (Ongoing damage): Hans - 7 damage; Ting Tang - 3 damage (24 total)
So, we *really* need to get another hit (or two splashes).
"I am out of fire, but I am happy to stand firm and provide an inviting target for the swarm, whilst the rest of you firebomb it into oblivion!"

odd work schedule today, I will be away from my computer. So in the next round (if Alexos misses) ting will throw his last alchemical fire) then back away. After combat is over he will finish searching the alcove and gather anything of value. After that he will follow the party, I should be back on in 10 - 12 hours.
this is the attack for the second round, if it comes to that.
alchemical fire attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 for damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1 in the first round damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 in the second round

going back to "only-posting-from-work" bit again starting tomorrow.
Alexos readies and throws his remaining Alchemist's Fire flask.
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 71d6 ⇒ 41d6 ⇒ 1
and apparently misses greatly...

![]() |

sorry, I assumed things would move faster yesterday, can ting use the attack I rolled for him as his move in the second round?
alchemical fire attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 for damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1 in the first round damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 in the second round
Squawk
ting tosses his last alchemical fire and backs away
he moves five foot

![]() |

The last alchemist's fire is enough to burn the last insects away. You see small pieces of ashes with feet on the floor.
Combat over
The elaborate armor is a suit of masterwork banded mail. In addition, an exotic masterwork bastard sword lies nearby, and two curved daggers lie beneath the skeleton.

Standard Pregen |

Hans breathes a sigh of relief, and claps Ting Tang on the shoulder.
"Those were some good shots! Now that the bugs are out of the way, we can claim those items, and move on..."
Once Felicitas has had a chance to inspect the daggers, Hans moves on down the corridor to the landing, and peers down the (previously hidden) corridor.
"Shall we go through the doors here?"

![]() |

Ting see's the exotic masterworked bastard sword
Aw, you's poor lit'le orphaned fella, I's will take's you 'ome wit' me
he takes a few practice swings and straps the sword to his hip and places his original sword in his pack, he will join Hans at the intersection down the hall and ask
well's gov'n'r, I's'l takes a looks see, wroight?
Ting will listen at the doors and search for traps
he will take 20 on the perceptions checks

![]() |

Hans and ting are at the top of what I assume is a hall going toward the temple area, I did tings last post without looking at the map, once the hall is made clear he will check the doors going into the temple
Ting drinks one potion of cure light wounds
potion: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Oy me pappy was an adventurer a fore, he becames a smuggler cause o’ it bein’ less dangerous. He use ta tell stories o’ all tha puzzles in dungeons. Maybe ‘is ‘ere is a puzzle, an’ the key is the stature o’ pharasm. It’s her temple, wroight?
ting looks at the other party members
See ‘at stature blessed me’s, tha other stature hurts me. Maybe’s I dids it in tha wrong orderly. Maybe’s we is ta touch the blessin ‘ ta help us with the cursin’. So we’s touch tha stature o’ Pharasma, and ‘en push tha other stature, we still get tha cursin’ but tha ‘elpin we gets from Pharasma balances Its out, wroight?
Ting looks at the rest of the party to see if that makes sense.
once we’s get in ‘air I’s’l give it a go wroight.
so tings plan, once they are in the temple is to touch the statue of Pharasma and see if it blesses him again, if it does, he will move one of the other statues and eat the damage
