Jory Redcap |
Jory awakes very upset and begins to pick up his bow and arrows.
"The laws of how hosts and guests behave are quite clear. You better explain what appears to be a gross violation of these laws."
GM Baerlie |
Xien tries to follow the couple and enters the next room. This hall has five more doors and Xien is not able to tell which way the couple went.
The ceiling of this grand hall soars twenty feet overhead. An enormous, fifty-foot-long banquet table surrounded by twenty-eight beautifully carved, high-backed chairs dominates the room. Eight full suits of ornate plate armor line the east and west walls, each holding an elaborate if unwieldy halberd. Intricately grilled windows high up on the north and south walls allow ambient light from outside to permeate the large chamber. Two enormous oil paintings in fanciful gilded frames flank the double doors on the west wall, their subjects presiding regally over the hall. On the right is an obese man in voluminous white robes and gloves, with a long black beard of oiled ringlets, and the fingers of both hands bedecked with gems — the quintessential portrait of a Druman Kalistocrat. The portrait on the left depicts a beautiful olive-skinned woman with large dark eyes and raven hair, also clad in white robes and gloves; her hair is held in place by a jeweled circlet, and a veil of coins covers her lower face.
Seated in every fourth chair (seven in total) is a most unusual diner — bipedal form clad in expensive black formal wear, with a grotesque, fish-like head, though it otherwise seems human enough.

Are the creatures Gildmen? Xien has found one on the Confirmation
"Hi!" says the nagaji to the creatures "Where is the combat treaty?" he observes the creatures for a while then adds "Where have those old men gone?"
He then turns towards the others and says "Come, there are some fish humans eating in the dinning room."
Xien places up his trident ready to fish any creature moving to close to the party, and steps slightly to the west decided to further explore the paintings.
Fredrik Greymantle |
Xien, lets wait for our companions to wake up before moving further into the manor. It should not take long.
To Jory after he wakes up.
While I agree with you I think we should avoid attacking them on sight. It would go against our instructions.
Xien |
"Do you know what those people gave them, perhaps they are unconscious and will never wake up, or even worse, the poison will kill them if we do not act swiftly. We have to catch up them and solve this before it is too late for our companions." the nagaji looks from site to site trying to find the running away servants.
Only reason to think they will wake up is the GM gave us that information. But our characters do not know, so I try to move Xien as he will behave if he was fearing for the live of his companions. But perhaps there is an in-character reason to wait, if so, please let us know Baerlie.
Fredrik Greymantle |
I rolled a heal check to treat each of our fallen companions and this is what I got as answer:
Fredrik knows that Jory and Hinrik are just sleeping. They will have a little headache after waking up, but the tea was not poisoned.
After about half an hour Jory and Hinrik wake up.
Not sure what is the problem.
Xien |
Oh, sorry Fredrik, it seems I just missunderstood.
Xien attends to Fredrik's calling and comes back to the room until he receives the signal to do something else.
The nagaji sits on the floor and waits sharpening his trident.

Xien |
"It seems only that one is real, all this ones are illusions." Xien points with his trident to the real one "Any one has knowledge about these golem beasts?"
The nagaji approaches to the west tapestry as the others inspect the golem, and checks if the door is secure for opening.

Also Jory identifies the illusions. Xien examines the door to the south west. It seems to be untrapped and unlocked.
I assume you want to check this door, you are next to it on the map?
Everybody gets a +4 on their saving throws against the illusions, because Xien pointed out that it's illusions.
While Xien examines the door the golem and the illusions start to move.

Hinrik stares at the "illusion"...

Xien |
Not knowing a lot about golems, Xien focuses in the creature to discover if it is evil.
If not he just says "Good Sir, can you point us to the place where the combat treaty is hidden?"
Lucian, Dervish of the Dawn |
Will: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
Lucian enters the room as his teammates awake, "Illusions indeed, what a disgusting creature of magic the real one is. Nethys does not permit HIS magic to be used in this manor, I will destroy whatever heretic created this hideous beast!"
GM Baerlie |
Fredrik knows that flesh golems are immune to magic but cold or fire damage slows them down. Their bodies can resist normal weapon attacks but adamantine is efficient against them. DR5/adamantine
The flesh golem seems to hear Xien's question, but answers only with a hoarse roar. The golem is not evil.
The golem sees Jory getting out an arrow and shouting at him so the real golem and the illusions attack.

Moving towards the real golem Fredrik continues with his prayer.

GM Baerlie |
Fredrik starts his sermonic performance to inspire his companions. Jory uses this inspiration to shoot three of four arrows into the golem's flesh, leaving three major wounds. Xien rushes around the table's corner and trips the golem.

Jory Redcap |
Jory carefully retrieves his four durable arrows of adamantine.
"These are expensive, a single one much more than a night buying ale for an entire tavern."
Todric Callaster |
Technically that means it hit me, unless my AOO would have dropped it. Should I roll?
"Right you are Jory. Skymetal does not come cheap."
He pats his main rapier at this comment.
"Well, you made me feel quite useless there. Fighting is my forte, and I got to do none of it! Well done, friends "
Tod makes a sweep of the room, then asks where the group would like to go next.
