For some reason I found the word "Pathlosers" hilarious.
And yeah, from running/playing a few games where this came into play, that was my impression too. If we take the books at their word, a newbie Pathfinder makes more money spending a day running errands for Ambrus Valsin (in First Steps I) than the average person does in several years. The job is very high risk, high reward, and if we weren't all adrenaline junkies who keep going on risky missions and reinvesting our gold into magic items, we'd have a great retirement fund by level 4 or so!
By the way, did any of you by any chance get a chronicle sheet from the Pathfinder Online kickstarter? Mine just came in, and if several players at the same table use it together, they can pick the boon they get instead of rolling for it.

As far as I know it's not actually part of the Thornkeep dungeon, even though the flavor text implies it is. It's a standalone thing you got from one of the $5 tiers, and I'm not sure if higher tiers had it too. If you do, it should be in the "Goblinworks" section of your downloads.

DM Rickmeister |

Haha, indeed Halorn. That's why I always try to keep a (detailed) map out of sight until the words "roll for initiative" are uttered... But that's in real life tabletop, this is a bit more difficult. :)

DM Rickmeister |

Also: I'm thinking about running another PBP soon, as this one is currently in at 5 out of 6. Anyone got any good ideas?

![]() |

I might be game for another PBP, depending on how busy I am then.
In an ideal world I'd like Yukie to be able to do the Lantern Lodge retirement scenario, but it's a 3-7 and she'll still be one scenario away from levelling to 3 after this one, so I doubt that'd be possible at all.

DM Rickmeister |

Why not? Is there a deadline for the scenario?
I'm having fun with the PBP, and some of my others are slowing down and ending, so that's why I thought I'd look for one more to run.
Even this one is running close to its end. :)

DM Rickmeister |

Okay Halorn, I can understand that. My next months will be exams (correcting them) and then 2 months of relative free time, so I should have plenty of opportunities to be checking these boars :)

This scenario is definitely a test of my ability to play the character over my personal instincts. Horatius would be intent on passing by the hut if possible and getting the mission done but the whole time I'm picturing Elan (for OotS fans) walking along with us singing "Skip, skip, skip the obvious plot hook..." :)

DM Rickmeister |

Stop making me laugh so hard Horatius, my colleagues already have this crazy idea of me :p

![]() |

I'm sure I'm just supporting their view rather than creating it :)
As far as the next run are you planning to start it after this one (as in Horatius could move to it) or will it be concurrent? Either's fine with me just trying to see if I need to come up with another character concept.

DM Rickmeister |

Following this one, so it would be perfect for Horatius to move to it.

Heh. That's one of the differences between PFS and general RPG-ing. We did the right RPG thing. But the PFS complete-ist in me keeps thinking "You left some gold behind!"

DM Rickmeister |

DM comes out of the woods, tieing his pants, bit of toilet paper on the sole of his boot...
"Okay guys, I'm ready! Roll for init... Euh... GUYS?"
**tumbleweed**

DM Rickmeister |

Adressing the NPCs: "Well, the plan was to have you murdered so they could take your stuff, and the chest you were guarding under the bed... But okay, consider our agreement fulfilled. You may keep the chest, and because you survived the pc party, you gain enough experience to level."
DM starts playing with the other group :p

DM Rickmeister |

S03-05 Tide of Twilight (1-5)
>> Subtier 1-2 probably.
I have chosen "Tide of Twilight".
It's from season 3, and I liked it immediately. Please post with your character, and explain to me why the group would require your expertise! :)
Any questions, post them here!

DM Rickmeister |

@ Horatius: Thank you, and "Out of sight" :p
@ Jory: I think you missed something.

I've been sporadically busy in the last few days myself. Sorry! Yukie'll be sitting out party face duty for now because I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post in the next few days.

![]() |

Real life has come up and bitten me in the well yeah. I need to take care of personal issues and will have no time for extra stuff in my life. Because of this I will be leaving the game. I am sorry if this puts a burden on the game but my real life issues are far more important as I am sure you will all understand.
Thanks for the fun while it lasted.

DM Rickmeister |

Andre, sorry to see you go my friend. Hope everything works out in the end, and hope you won't mind that I'll place Andre in "Zombie follow mode". Take care!

DM Rickmeister |

Yup, saw him. Thanks for pointing him in the right direction.

![]() |

Being a paladin (and because we're lacking any recent Monty Python reference) I think Horatius would enter the longhall in his own particular idiom. Sword swinging, killing anyone who greets him, offers assistance/food or just happens to be around. :)

DM Rickmeister |

Been working on the Chronicle sheets, could everyone send me their Pathfinder Society # please? For those that are not level ones, you would really make my life easier if you could help me with
And while you're at it:
Thanks mateys!

DM Rickmeister |

With Andre having to leave, and Yuki on "don't know how much I will be able to post", I would like to remind the others not to wait too much for someone else "to do the talking", or at least describe that you are *not* talking in some way :)
Almost at the end folks! There's a shiny stack of gold waiting for you under the rainb... snowbow!

![]() |

I didn't want to say too much before we "met up" again, but while I'm (barely) okay with staying with these guys, I'm definitely not eating their food or letting the goblins out of our sight (i.e keep a door open where we can see them).

![]() |

Rick I think we were all going it. If I'm not misunderstanding after we go in Jory was going to check the store room with a fine toothed comb and then stay with the goblins.
Or perhaps I'm misunderstanding and the storeroom isn't in the longhouse itself?

DM Rickmeister |

The storeroom is like the stables or outhouse, it's a different building. It's cold there, and the longhouse is warm. It's probably about 30-40 feet from one entrance to the next, so not exactly far away :)

Apologies for having been so scarce lately. In addition to being generally busy, I've bitten off more than I could chew as far as RL tabletop games go, so there's admittedly been some roleplay fatigue. I'll try to be around more for the home stretch!

DM Rickmeister |

No problem, I think we've all been there :)
As far as this one is concerned: almost there Yuki, just hold on to your underpants! ;)

DM Rickmeister |

At work now, with my perfect response readied.. And forgot at home. I'll post in about 4-5 hours. Get ready to get your RP on! :D

DM Rickmeister |

Horatius, you are hearing the sounds of battle. If you want, you can warn the others (as speaking is a free action).
