Number 6 would have broken me.
Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1
the original version of that card that he nerfed was just instant death
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Pyro, what did you expect? They /are/ fey.
Magic is little more then a toy to most, or it usually comes naturally. Prepared casters are rare.
I suppose I was expecting that the artifact acted in ways that I know about from my Knowledge Arcana check. For example, that in this case it has forced a permanent Beast Shape 2 change on our companion, which can be removed temporarily by Dispel Magic or permanently by Break Enchantment or something. That sort of thing.
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Oh, i was referring to how they treated the deck.
Your check made sense, and i didn't doubt it.
Figuring out how to remove it will require spellcraft on the deck itself, or some time in the library.
Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1
That's not what it did
We are probably also more sucaptable to chaos magic than, for example, a human.
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
'Twas mostly meant as some humor from me.
My humor is... Odd.
Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1
The original card just had the poison, if my memory can be trusted
And Yes as someone who knows you/him you/he has/have a weird sense of humor but I like it,
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Merry Christmas everyone, hope you're having a better Christmas then i am!

If we go in and state a new number are more cards able to be drawn?
Maybe we get a chance for a new number every couple of levels?
Otherwise, that room becomes obsolete pretty quick.
Either way, are we moving on soon? Stalls like this make me nervous...
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
It's Christmas, I'm exuasted, and I'm still waiting on foul's action.
If i wasn't so exuasted, i would have pushed everything along a while ago.
But as it stands, I'm not likely to post till late tonight, or tomorrow.
Troll(halforc) 1
Would training or going to the library actually do something or just story stuff I am asking only because of the light deck of many things. My actions won't change.
Image Male Fuzzy Little Squirrel Wild Caller Summoner/Sorcerer
Do native outsiders count for our summon?
If so, I can call the listed Aasimar. :D
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
The library contains books on almost everything, and with a good knowledge check or a search of a specific subject, you can find most anything.
The training is a free retraining for a few people who need it because they didn't understand much of the implications of this size. The extent of what you can retrain is up to me. If it's too much, you'll have to actually pay.
For example, changing archetypes is fine, or retraining a feat.
Retraining classes, however, will take some coin.

Yes, but you can't call it, because you don't know what an assimar is.
Image Male Fuzzy Little Squirrel Wild Caller Summoner/Sorcerer
What /can/ I call, then?
Can I just be like: "I need something really tall" and you just say what I get?
Fanz doesn't have any ranks in know planes. :/
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Religion covers cleatials.
And an assimar is a part celestial /human/
You can call a celestial animal,
Image Male Fuzzy Little Squirrel Wild Caller Summoner/Sorcerer
What can the celestial template be applied to? Celestial constructs?
And I only have a rank in know nature. Would know religion make more sense?
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Not really, nature makes perfect sense for you. "holy Animal" works fine- summon an ideal version of an animal.
Celestial can be applied to any living creature that can be of good alignment.
(And very rarely, those that are not.)

Since I breathe carbon dioxide /and/ oxygen, am I immune to the slow suffocation rules?
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Possibly. Only if you are capable of photosynthesis- you can't convert carbon dioxide if you aren't in sunlight.

There are so many plant things to play with! :D
Then all plants should die at sunset. Question is, with his weird metabolism, how long can he hold his 'breath'?
†
Also a good question.
If I were GM, I would say as normal but with no penalty for taking actions while it happens. :)
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Well, that's a better question.
And honestly, if it ever comes up, I'll deal with it then.
He can hold his breath the same amount of time underwater, but as for slow suffocation (being in a small confined space until you run out of oxygen) I'll work that out should it ever become relevant.
Image Male Fuzzy Little Squirrel Wild Caller Summoner/Sorcerer
It usually doesn't. :)
I /can/ actually cast underwater, Silenced spells and all.
I wish I didn't need material components, but I don't want to waste a feat on Eschew Materials. :/
Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1
Pyro. wrote: Then all plants should die at sunset. Question is, with his weird metabolism, how long can he hold his 'breath'? that isn't actually how plant metabolism works
They make and store sugar furring the day and then shut almost everything down at night as they slowly burn that sugar doing one of the very few things they do that requires it
Growing/healing
You see plants arent't like animals
When we dial we still have to pump blood and run a brain and a liver and intestines and whatnot
Plants don't have most of those processes and those that they do have they don't have to work pumps in order for them to work
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Can we please return to the game?
I don't want to sit trough a lecture of how plants do/don't work.
Pyro, you wanna check out the library or something?
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Also, fey paper wouldn't be made of trees, but more so pressed leafy plants... Or just poofed up by conjurers, witch are responsible for creating a lot of things here.
Image Male Fuzzy Little Squirrel Wild Caller Summoner/Sorcerer
Cool. I don't have to hate the library, then.
†
Just a note, Pseudo dragon is actually my size. Both a foot long. :)
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
It's tiny size....
Your diminutive.
You are about a foot long, but it's tail is 2 feet long...
And that means you stand 12x higher then the fey.
Image Male Fuzzy Little Squirrel Wild Caller Summoner/Sorcerer
I think my foot is head to tail, so it's three feet long head to tail. Never mind then.
I'm about 5-6 × Fey height when standing.

Just making sure everyone knows I'm still here.
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Ok, i read pyro's post 10 times.
Could someone please explain it to me?
I'm terribly stupid.
†
"You have a big library and probably already have any spells I can cast in books already. I'd rather see magical theory books, possibly books about evocation."
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
aside from re-training that wood-weapon thing (witch you already did) there isn't much you can to to improve outside levels and magic items...
Heck, i think wizards and learned sorcerers are the only classes that can actually improve outside levels.
†
I just went ahead and redid that. I never should have had it so I just swapped for woodshape.
I don't have the money for items either.
Oracle is just kinda useless isn't it? :/
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
No, oracle is quite useful.
/any/ spell-caster is useful, really....
Just the only way to get better is through exp points... And by extension, killing or solving a near murderous situation peacefully.
You're just suffering from the-wizard-has-all-the-options-fear.
Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1
no,
but they are generally most useful if optimized towards either healing or necromancy
oracles of life make for the best healers in the game without any fancy tricks
the PrC "rage prophet" is on of my favorites and requires oracle
lore oracles are interesting,
what you're experiencing is the quadraticness of casters, they kinda suck at low levels
I recently submitted a lore oracle 10/young gold dragon gestalt to a different campaign, I have high hopes for him
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Oracle of the heavens = for the first 8 or 9 levels, i can knock everything unconscious for 2d4 rounds.
†
But still, just look at this. Why would anyone pick an oracle over a sorcerer? :/
