does anyone know any ways to increase the effective level of an animal companion

if I took eldritch heritage to get the first lvl bloodline power that's an animal companion, would you let it stack with my current companion instead of granting another

No.

Boon companion raises it's effective level by 4. That's the best you'll get.

dang it, ah well, sucks to see something so awesome become effectively useless other than to get to point A to point B after a few levels

as a note, eldritch heritage would come into play at lvl 7 at the cost of 2 feats

You could take that arcane heratige and /replace/ your level, if you want.

Actually, as per the rules, if you get something from more then one source it stacks instead of getting taken twice.

However, the animal compaion one replaces both a bloodline thing /and/ Bloodline arcana, so it working is debatable.

Alright, it can be a flacon, that just gives a buff to it's dive speed if it isn't just a retextured hawk, witch, as a compaion, it will be.

With non-plot central npc's, you may have someone talking quickly away from the griot right now, due or the lull.

Overall, this is just a way to get used to the setting. Only one person in the market currently (other then the pc's) has any real significance.
