as you probably read in jolials adventure, he has learned how to turn weaves into wardings, or traps. I bring this up because i feel that this is an oversight on the rules part, for not making mention of how to create a trapped weave.
so here is another playtest rule:
to turn a weave into a trap. the weave must be one of instantaneous effect, like harden air, fireball, master ward, and so on. To make a weave into a trap you must add a +3 to the channeler level, AND it now includes weaves of spirit to set the trap, thus a fireball, which is fire and air, when set as a trap is changed to fire, air, and spirit. Meeting the affinity requirements apply. Setting the trap is a full round action.
depending on how the above plays out, ill incorporate rules for those weaves that have build times.
Tesliin, I will say that this would be a course allowed for in the white tower, so you immediately know how to weave a trap.
Jolial and marten, since the black tower is still new, this is a new concept, so it must be taught.

Just a heads up.
These past few weeks i have noticed a slow decline in the responses from everyone, including myself.
For myself, i work full time and am in school full time, with a family to be with, so i have found myself stretching out the lengths of my postings to further and further out.
So, i am making a move to a posting once every 3 days. This should give everyone with the same busy schedule enough time to act. If you feel up to more conversation, then great, let it flow. But lets push for the post every 3 days.
Hey guys. Just a heads up. Having problem with time Warner so I'm unable to do much of anything right now. Should have everything sorted by tomorrow night. Thanks for being patient.

So A'mar pointed something out about how Moraine and Lan were able to sense shadowspawn, even when asleep. Looking that the weave "sense shadowspawn, its only an instantaneous weave, and has a range of 50ft/level, which means it cannot be changed into a tied off weave.
Let's playtest an idea i have.
Sense shadowspawn:
+4 casting level: You can tie off this weave as if it had duration: concentration. Tying off this weave requires a lot of effort, and at best is loosely tied. (To tie this weave requires 2 full rounds instead of 1 standard action, and the length of time the tie lasts is one quarter the time of a standard tied off weave.)
+1 casting level: You can transfer a tied off weaves sense ability to a touched person. Person is allowed a will save to resist.

I don't think the sense could be transferred to anyone else. In the books I think Lan was able to sense them only by virtue of his connection to Moraine.
To my recollection, I don't think it was even a weave at all, but had something to do with being able to feel their taint. I think in book 4 or so there is a description about Rand feeling like something was different about the source, and the way the taint felt, and it turned out to be due to the presence of shadowspawn (this was just before the attack by the Drakar as they are leaving the wastes, if memory serves).
Mechanically, it might make more sense to just be a Perception check, the DC based on the range, and the number of shadowspawn present. Only those who can sense the Source, or are directly bonded to those who can, would be able to feel it.
dc might change depending upon how vile the creature is so a halfman more easy to sense than an ordinary trolloc; just a thought, so 500 trolloc easier to sense than one; and so on.

well, i think from the lack of response from marten, he has decided to stop playing with us. For the time being, i will DMNPC him, until a time presents itself to move him away from the group.
If marten shows back up and begins posting again, great! glad to have him back!

Just bump the campaign a day forward in time. This would give me the ability to write up something that would portray those no longer interested an easy way out. Nothing drastic, i wouldnt suddenly drop you all in Shara....although ;)
I have become a little lax in checking this campaign, and when I do I do so from phone, then forget to make a post later. I admit my own fault and will get a post up in short order in response to Amorial. I apologize on my end for holding things up.

its ok. if anything, the fault is with me. I have become very busy, both at work, at home, and at school. So there are some days that i just say "ill get to it tomorrow" and end up pushing it off.

Rhoekk gained a level for exemplary roleplaying.
Good question about the Tower, the exact chronology of the books I forget at this point but I don't think the "Rebe;" Aes Sedai have established a counter-faction quite yet.
Based on the books, the Tower is split and Egwene has declared herself Amyrlin of the rebels in Salidar. How close Rizzen is sticking to this is up to him and of course it doesn't mean that any of us know about it. Those Aes Sedai are a secertive lot after all.

yes the tower has split. The Aes Sedai, and by extension the Warders, know and acknowledge the split. The nobles know with rough certainty that it happened, not by who, what, why, and who the new faction is. And the commoners only know rumor and conjecture.
And i feel that i may have to move this up a day because of the two groups are on different times. For Rhoekk, he is only a couple hours into the day, and for the group at the library, its already dinner time.
Depending on what Rhoekk is looking for, i can either give him answers in story form, or in character.

I know the tower is split in the books much earlier than are start at Dumai Wells, I just didnt know if we knew or which side Tesliin is on and I would really like to know as it would color my roleplay.

No, cairhein was not taken by seanchan. Cairhein is to the east, east of Caemlyn, and just south of Tar Valon. so as far as tesliin the PC is concerned, she may think that this is a wilder working.
as for knowing about damane, I would say you think they are just sick twisted rumors spread to scare Aes Sedai.

Ya, at this point in the storyline the Seanchan are just a vague rumor made up by people in the West. Arthur Hawkwing's armies returned from across the seas after a thousand years? Ya, right.
Just giving you a heads-up that at the end of this month (July 31), I'll be leaving town for two weeks for work. I don't know the status of an available internet connection while I'll be gone, or how much free time I'll have, but I'll post as able.
After that, I'll only be back for a day before heading to Gencon afterwards, getting back home late the 19th. So between those two dates I'll be sporadic at best, possibly unavailable. Sorry for any inconveniences this may impose.
